THE PROSELYTISING PREDICAMENT 

🕉It is useless to complain that Christian missionaries are converting poor Hindus by offering them monthly monetary help and allied inducements. Our industrialists and politicians must instead develop the attribute of non-covetousness [absence of greed] and help the poor polity to come up so that they may not out of dire necessity fall victim to such perfidious proselytisation.

It is our failing to develop our masses which is partly responsible for this fate that has befallen us and we need to work on it. Mere protests will not achieve much. Resistance must be built up on all fronts, internal and external, social, economic, political and spiritual to combat conversion. We must respect our brethren, especially the poor people who form the very basis of our civilisation. Where would we be in the absence of their age-old labour to build our civilisation that we so vaunt of? And what do we give them in return? Kicks and brickbats, apathy and neglect. Do we have the heart to own them as our own? We do not, and there the chink lies through which the enemy enters.

Let us stand in solidarity with these teeming millions without contaminating their spiritual culture as the communists do by way of spreading their word of a materialistic revolution which shall usher in their utopian ideal state. Let the power of sympathy in practical terms erase poverty from this land and with it erase the possibility of such proselytising perversion from the minds of our masses.🕉
