THE EYE SAYS IT ALL

THE EYE SAYS IT ALL

Sublimity of soul is something that danseuses must seek to express in their varied body movements. For this a heightened aesthetic sense, economy of movement and expression, and an unearthly love for the Divine must possess the soul. Only then can one commune with the higher Spirit and transmit unto the audience feelings of transcendence that make art what it ideally was meant to be, the bridge to the Divine.
Sublimity -- this is the key element that ought to characterise a great dance performance. There must be nothing material about the danseuse as she performs in spontaneous bliss devoid of coarse contamination of desirous display that makes of a performance an exhibition in earthly ends and not an uplifting exercise unto ethereal ends. Danseuses must ever bear this in mind and desist from all such mannerisms, expressions of the eye that mark their performances as representations in the flesh and not in the Spirit.
