MUSIC AND ITS MOCKERY

MUSIC AND ITS MOCKERY

Music laughs from behind the curtains as musicians make a mockery of it. And the public in wild innocence clap approval of degenerate stuff passing off as sublime. Strange are the times, stranger the tastes of the people and strangest the self-indulgence of many a mercenary that goes by the name of classical musician. Of course, the odd artiste is there still to light up the contrasting colour and lead us on to those rare realms of the ethereal whence a return to the mundane plane becomes painful. But they are few and far between and dwindling by the day. Will classical music die then or will it see a resurrection?
