THE DEPTH, THE HEIGHT AND THE RUMBLING ROLL
The whole of life is integrated. It is a single mental ocean. Raise a wave here and feel the pulse there in time to come, near or far. This is the course of karma, inevitable, inviolable.
The ocean lies as the base of all, the low and the high. The lowly are but droplets, the high, tidal waves, but each has the water of the sea for its substance, each has the ocean for its infinite foundation, its substratum, its receptacle and its being, for this universal ocean is boundless and has no shores, itself being the bank and the centre at every point in its vastness.
This great sense of oneness of all of phenomena is the foundation of the feeling of universal fraternity and the real classless approach with all its social and economic connotations. But abstruse philosophy is one and concrete actualisation is another, both in practical spiritual terms in the individual life and in the life of the collective we call society. As water rolls down its glacial peaks and inundates the plains below to spread civilisation, so must philosophy become practical to be of aid to ailing mankind without losing sight of the pristine source which, remaining pure, will bless humanity evermore.
