IN SEPARATION AND IN UNION
A musical note must be played as a teardrop plays itself out, rolling down the cheeks of a lover in pangs of separation, in the exultation of beloveds meeting after a long separation when hearts had pined and souls sought solace in mere memory. Now in the springtime of union souls commingle in an entrancement of pure bliss. In a like manner the raag flows free in all its colour as notes stand in separation only to coalesce in a later harmony when the seven sisters sing in unison the symphony of the soul.
