3. No more pledges that will not be fulfilled but the solemn resolve to form character that will stand the test of time and fructify.

4. Let us imbibe this New Year the golden attributes of all the races instead of imitating the English poorly out of a sense of self-abasement.

5. Papua New Guinea is as much a nation and worth remembering as England or USA. We have much to learn from the weaker nations.
