'যত মত তত পথ'---এটি মহাবাক্য | এর বিশ্বজনীন ব্যাপ্তি ও তাৎপর্য ক্রমশঃ প্রকাশ্য | দেশকালনিমিত্তের বর্তমান অবস্থানে দাঁড়িয়ে কিছু মানুষ এই বাণীটির বিচারে কতক বিভ্রান্ত কিন্তু চলমান ইতিহাসের নিরিখে এর তাৎপর্য অসীম | সর্বকালের মানুষের বিচিত্র প্রবৃত্তি ও জীবনধারাকে একসূত্রে গাঁথার এই বর্ণমালা যা যুগাবতারকন্ঠে উদ্ঘোষিত হল, তার গভীরতা ও বিস্তার সম্যক উপলব্ধি করার প্রজ্ঞা সাধারণের নয় | তাই বিভ্রান্তিসৃষ্টি | ব্রহ্মবোধে উন্নীত হয়েই অবতারের বাণী ধারণা সম্ভব | এর অর্থ এই নয় যে শ্রদ্ধাপূর্ণ বিচার হওয়া কাম্য নয় | এর অর্থ এই যে শ্রদ্ধবিহীন আলোচনা অজ্ঞতার নিদর্শন হয়ে পড়ে যা অভিপ্রেত নয় |

A CONFERENCE CRITICAL 

In conference about the future of the nation, a critical point in the nation's history. Personalities do count. Who knows whether India would at all have been partitioned if Gandhiji had listened to Subhas Chandra Bose's suggestion and launched mass movement against the British six months before the Second World War began when the British were at their weakest? Instead Bose was outmanouvred and isolated within the Congress, then expelled to seal his political doom. Indomitable tiger that he was, he sought fresh fighting ground abroad after a daring escape from house arrest, then traversing terrible terrain across Afghanistan en route to Berlin via Moscow. Bose's subsequent circumstantially enforced alliance with Germany, Italy and Japan, the enemies of Britain, his leading the Indian National Army II against British India which helped precipitate India's freedom is a tale of epic proportions and is now staple to the common discourse on India's independence movement but downplayed as yet officially owing to, perhaps, international pressure. But the discord with Gandhiji over the Tripuri Congress Presidency continues to haunt Indians as it changed for good the political future of India and the history of the subcontinent with it.

THOUGHTS AS THEY COME BY

1. We must be rooted to our heritage in a an enlightened way that allows us freedom to forge ahead. Hyper-conservatism is to be avoided and a fluid growth encouraged. Enlightenment must be the watchword.

2. Holiness is a state of mind but the mind's intimate connection with the body makes it imperative for one to maintain the strictest physical purity as well. Physical energy stored thus is transmuted into higher spiritual energy which helps the aspirant ascend the peaks of realisation leading to ultimate freedom.

3. Ideology is a force but often for evil when it resists change and stagnates. It is here that the scientific method of examination and re-examination of existing theories and assumptions becomes relevant. Religious dogma holds the human spirit to ransom and must be rejected just as much as political dogma is to be rejected. The soul freed of arbitrary assumptions, archaic injunctions and doctrinaire impositions flourishes to usher in higher learning, a brighter understanding of the workings of Nature and a clearer vision of Truth, both material and spiritual.

4. What a terrible thing it is to be weighed own eternally by the idea of 'original sin' that simply has no basis in reason! Christianity is founded on such a fragile concept but with its rigid hold on superstitious man that perpetuates weakness in man and retards civilisation unless men choose to reject such an absurd proposition. Fortunately, Christian nations have through the Enlightenment outgrown such an outdated concept and progressed. 

5. This Christian idea of meeting one's Maker when one dies is utterly false. A single earthly life, incomplete in evolutionary experience, unfulfilled in terms of realisation of the oneness of all existence, cannot be the springboard for heaven or hell or even of redemption otherwise but is rooted in rank material superstition. The philosophical edifice of the Abrahamic religions will in due course collapse under the sledgehammer blows of reason and they will have to befriend Indian spiritual philosophy for sheer survival. The Vedas were the primal body of philosophical articulation and they will be the final body of the same as well.

6. There is but one religion in the world that can be called 'the science of the soul' and that is the Sanatan Dharma, popularly known as Hinduism. This is the eternal religion, the 'Perennial Philosophy', as Aldous Huxley put it, and this is the eventual destination of the spiritual man as he spirals unto his Self through the myriad experiences of evolving life.

7. Do not allow anybody to sell you religion, however great he may be in the eyes of society. He is merely duping you with pompous talk.

8. It is good to pay to learn engineering of the material world but beware if anybody sells you the secrets of 'inner engineering'!

9. Making commerce out of the Sanatan Dharma is not quite upholding its principles. This is no way to regenerate the nation.

10. To affirm the spiritual individual is not to negate God but to affirm God in humanity.

11. God is love. So, love and spread love. That is all there is to life and that is all there is to living.

12. The Lord is with the simple folks, men of apparent ignorance who trust Him in all their innocence but hold on to morality.

13. Try to find God, free of organisation, free of allegiance to church, in your own simple way.

14. Bow not to the tyranny of man or God but raise your head high in the sunshine of freedom.

OH, CITIZENS OF THE WORLD ! [EDITED]

I am everywhere. If this be the consciousness or that my beloved Lord is all around in the myriad guises of distressed humanity, then I can scarce eat or drink or sleep till I have alleviated their misery. This problem of universal sorrow moved the Buddha and this again moved the leonine Swami Vivekananda.

The fact that we worship Mammon and not God is amply testified by our day-to-day dealings with brother man which is what prompted a Karl Marx, an ardent student of life and the material forces that govern it, to hazard such a damaging statement as 'Religion is the sigh of the oppressed creature, the heart of a heartless world, the opium of the people.' Lenin further said, 'Government is the organ of class rule.' Both these statements have held sway for a protracted period of time over a vast mass of humanity, not merely by imposed force but by rationalised conviction in many as well. While it may be argued that these were statements made in reaction to existent inequities in human society society then, they merit our attention nonetheless in terms of the human content they carry, if not for the revolutionary powder they supply, for always the status quo is what the privileged prefer.

Existent philosophies are dubiously interpreted as always to suit the selfish ends of the mighty and the rich who squeeze their wealth out of the life-blood of the suffering mute millions. The clergy and the cleric, the monk and the man, on the average are all for the status quo and quote the scriptures fractionally to support what in Hegelian dialectical terms has been dubbed the thesis (of oppression) under the garb of pseudo-religiosity. This is in no way an aspersion cast on the heroic souls who give up home and hearth to serve God in the human form but is a statement of fact about the lethargy of the establishment in redressing the poverty situation of the country and the world at large, the sheer apathy for the poor children of God and the self-satisfaction of the privileged in doling out a pittance for the less fortunate ones, thereby feeling a false sense of spiritual security and ease of conscience. If religious philosophy comes to the aid of these in supporting their niggardly ideas of God and Truth and service to sentience, then such quotations are rendered noxious when they are in exclusion of the opposite modes of philosophical thinking that abound as well in all of spiritual literature and more so in the bleeding hearts of a Buddha or a Christ, a Vivekananda or a Ramakrishna.

It is because of this violent apathy to the prevailing human condition that the masses have been reduced to beasts of burden, eking out an earthly existence barely worth the name while the rich roll on the lap of luxury, though inexorably sinking in the morass of material 'necessities'. It is ignorance everywhere !

But falsifying philosophy will not do nor will tailoring it to suit one's dubious desires, for there are the reactions coming, the Advaita gaining ground, seeking utterance from a soft whisper to the mighty roar of the lion, and all will be swept away in a tidal wave of spirituality with oneness the enforcing principle and the masses the diverse stuff of focal integration. 

Aristocracy has dug its own grave and if the piteous calls of the bleeding gods and goddesses of the land do not melt the frozen hearts of the business barons of the day, theirs will be a worse festering death, for the hour cometh when the shudras (proletariats) of the world will rise in open rebellion against the existing order that has for ages ground them to dust, and out of the dust shall they arise to reshape their destiny which no God or man ever did it for them.

Revolution is a recurring phenomenon in human history and is ever the result of apathetic human inaction to the plight of the people, nay, it so often is the consequence of antipathy of the privileged classes towards the well-being of the dispossessed people whose very labour is the foundation of the material joys of life they hold dear, joys that never visit even casually the homes of the very makers of them, the teeming millions who are the salt of the earth.

Thus did Swami Vivekananda forewarn the upper classes to take cognisance of this, the age-old exploitation of the masses, and himself with a bleeding heart, that escaped no pulsation of the poor and the hapless, set to founding the mother organisation for the poor of India and the spiritually ignorant of the world, the 'Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission'. It is Swamiji's trust for the poor and the helpless.

Come ye all and sink your ploughshare in this desert-sand of life and transform it into an oasis of love by your heart's ardour. Ramakrishna watches us ever. Shall we fail Him ? No, never.

তাছাড়া, পেটবৈরাগী হলে তো চলবে না, যদিও তা হওয়াও সহজ নয় | যথার্থ ত্যাগীর প্রয়োজন | কিন্তু যথার্থ ত্যাগী জন্মান কম | তাই কালে সন্ন্যাসী সংঘগুলীতে কামকাঞ্চনের কলুষতা দেখা দেয় |

রামকৃষ্ণ মিশন প্রথিতযশা অধ্যাত্মপ্রতিষ্ঠান | তাঁদের নবাগতদের নেওয়ায় বিবেচনা করতে হয় তাঁরা যথার্থ বৈরাগ্যবান কিনা | যে কেউ যোগদান করতে চাইলেই যোগদান করতে পারেন না | ন্যূনতম শিক্ষাগত ও চরিত্রগত যোগ্যতা চাই | এইসব নানা কারণে ও সমাজের সাধারণ ভোগমুখীতার জন্য প্রায় যে কারণে জনসংখ্যা সমাজের নিম্নস্তরে ক্রমান্বয়ে বাড়ছে, সেই কারণেই সত্ত্বগুণসম্পন্ন যুবকযুবতীর জন্ম আপেক্ষিকভাবে কম হচ্ছে যার প্রতিফলন এই সন্ন্যাসী সংঘের সংখ্যালঘুতায় প্রতিফলিত |

এহেন অবস্থায় আমাদের করণীয় এই যে আমরা যেন নিজেদের জীবন রামকৃষ্ণ-বিবেকানন্দ ভাবধারায় গঠন করি | নিত্য শ্রদ্ধাবনতচিত্তে কথামৃত, লীলাপ্রসঙ্গ ও স্বামীজীর বাণী ও রচনা পাঠ, ইষ্টমন্ত্র জপ, ধ্যান, প্রার্থনা, সেবা ইত্যাদির দ্বারা নিজগৃহটিকে গৃহস্থাশ্রমে সাধ্যমত পরিণত করতে পারি, নিজচরিত্রসুষমায় পারিপার্শিককে সুরভিত করে তুলতে পারি | আমরা যাঁরা ঠাকুর-মা-স্বামীজীর অনুগামী বলে নিজেদের গণ্য করি তাঁদের ওপর বর্তায় ঠাকুর-মা-স্বামীজীর যথার্থ প্রতিভূ হওয়া | আমরা যদি আন্তরিক হই, তো দিব্যত্রয়ীর আশীর্বাদে এই সাধনায় অগ্রসর হতে পারি | তখন ঘরে ঘরে রচিত হবে রামকৃষ্ণ গৃহস্থাশ্রম | ঘরে ঘরে সাধু চরিত্রের হবে নিত্য উদ্ভব | সাধুসংখ্যার অপ্রতুলতা দূর হবে | 🕉

Sugata Bose @Sulekha Basu : তবে আপনাকে বলি একটা সহজ কথা | তেমন সাধু আজ নেই যিনি কিনা বহু যুবককে অনুপ্রাণিত করতে পারেন | তাই এই দশা | সমাজের অবক্ষয়ের সাথে সাথে সাধুসমাজেরও অবক্ষয় ঘটেছে | ত্যাগের পথে আনবেন কি করে যুব সম্প্রদায়ের সার ভাগকে যদি ত্যাগী স্বয়ং ভোগের সাথে সমঝোতা করেন সেবাকর্ম সম্পাদনের অছিলায় বিষয়ের পেছনে ধাবমান হয়ে? সেই সত্যপরায়ণতা কই? সেই আদর্শনিষ্ঠা কই? সেই জ্বলন্ত বিষয়বৈরাগ্য কই যা সাধারণ মানুষকেও এমন অনুপ্রাণিত করতে পারে যে তাঁদেরই মধ্য হতে বহুজন এই অমৃতের পথে অগ্রসর হতে প্রবৃত্ত হবেন?

I also did not know any such thing earlier till this controversy spilled over onto social media. People provided links to regrettable revelations which sullied discourse. Now let us savour what is best in all and serve the holy cause. So, charaiveti! (Onward!)

Sugata Bose @Ankan Dé : But it should not be foisted on one arbitrarily on the basis of imposed faith. It must be rationally expounded even if located in supersensuous realm which is what philosophical systems expounding on transcendental realisations are all about. Reason must be applied in explication of suprarational experiences to the level possible, that is, in as much as language can approximate in providing hints and suggestions. My objection is to irrational imposition of faith based on archaic superstitions or fantastic narratives that keep the bulk of humanity in the dark, narratives that go against scientific discoveries about the universe and evolution, all the while feeding in gullible minds a doctrinaire diet that militates against everything progressive about knowledge and light.

Sugata Bose @Sunit Gupta : But they are spreading lies about Sri Ramakrishna and Swami Vivekananda and their message, plus a host of superstitious stuff that goes directly against the findings of modern science. Their spiritual literature denigrates Hindu Gods and Goddesses as demigods and demigoddesses in line with some Vaishnava tradition. This goes directly against the fostering of Hindu unity and is intolerant to a degree that is alien to the ancient spiritual averment 'Ekam sadvipraa bahudhaa vadanti'.

Sugata Bose @Sunit Gupta The right resistance to inner corruption is being provided to clean up the house. Unity cannot be forged by pandering to inner evil. It can only be built on the secure foundation of mutual acceptance and not a one-way acceptance by only the Ramakrishna Mission of all others who indulge in mocking their iconic figures unduly, basing their disgraceful criticism on unfounded facts and utter falsity, casting aspersions to gain organisational mileage et al. The polity must always be purged of malefic elements to lend it durability and strength and the much required unity one mentions.

P.S. The current episode gone viral on social media is but the tip of the iceberg. Such vilification of our national icons with specific emphasis on Ramakrishna-Vivekananda and the Ramakrishna Mission has been going on for far too long since the 1960s by this organisation and needs to be brought to a halt to help forge the unity of the Hindus. So long as sectarianism flourishes with a toxic turn on doctrinaire basis it is bad enough. To add fuel to fire by mocking seminal sages of the stature of Ramakrishna and Vivekananda is like lending sledgehammer blows at the very foundation of the Hindu polity. If such anti-Hindu activities are not protested against, where should one go to seek Hindu unity? The proselytising Abrahamic threat is visible but this inner virus is eating into the vitals of Hindu society. Hence, civilised resistance is the sine qua non. And remember, the spreading of misinformation about Swami Vivekananda by ill-informed and ill-intentioned people bearing the burden of this organisation is still on which is drawing the necessary flak from the countless devotees and followers of the cyclonic monk.

Sugata Bose @Sunit Gupta : I have deleted some of them already where too much toxicity is resulting in the comment stream but cannot keep on deleting each and every post where there is nothing patently offensive being written by way of commenting as such. A healthy discussion, even debate, is welcome so long as it does not degenerate into mutual vilification by verbal adversaries. Certain posts are pertinent to the existent reality and are therefore yet there on my profile wall. But it must be said that abusive intolerance in the polity is on the rise.

ঠাকুর কি বার বার বলেন নি কামিনীকাঞ্চন ত্যাগের কথা ? 

স্বামীজী কি বলেন নি ব্রহ্মচর্যই ধর্মের ও শিক্ষার কেন্দ্রস্থল ? 

মা কি বলেন নি ভক্তদের পবিত্রতা রক্ষার কথা বার বার ? 

কাম আর রাম কি সহাবস্থান করতে পারে ? দোঁহায় আছে, 'যাঁহা রাম ওঁয়াহা কাম নহি,

ঔর যাঁহা কাম ওঁয়াহা রাম নহি |'

স্বামীজী কি তাঁর গৃহী ভক্তকে বলেন নি, "তা বাবা, সংসার করতে হবে বলে কি একটা কামের জালা হতে হবে ?"

74. In samadhi one does not realise one's unity with Brahman but one dissolves, disappears and Brahman alone in eternal lonesomeness abides, witnessing Itself. Brahman alone realises Brahman ever, multiplicity being rendered an impossible proposition. It is boundless spherical Self-awareness, infinitude of the Bring which is neither big nor small but rounded, spherical, seamless, devoid of dualistic divide. And when in reverse mode the individual magically reappears, a silken faint ego manifests, Vedic mantra in golden letters appears and the Self, now in the interface of the Absolute and the Relative, beholds Itself in all, the spell lasting for two days and two-thirds. Traces of the experience linger for years but the singular event alters consciousness for good and releases the soul from fear, spiritual ignorance and misidentification with the body and the mind. A deeper reality has been apparent and its memory remains with the individual as residuum in truth.

We, Hindus, need it for our civilisational preservation. The nation needs it for its solidarity which is much threatened by fissiparous tendencies and inner erosion. Humanity needs it in order to harmonise the conflicting forces afflicting it. Ramakrishna-Vivekananda must come alive in the consciousness of the masses.

93. When Swami lectured in Lahore, he did so in his motherland at the very heart-centre of early Aryavarta. Now circumstances have changed but they will change again to restore our civilisation to its pristine integrated purity. Sanatan solidarity in subcontinental civilisational terms will obtain again, and this time for ages to come.

100. I feel discouraged to write about Swami Vivekananda when I see that all that people want is not to read the post but to extend their greetings by way of so many hackneyed reverential expressions. The photograph appended to this post will as well draw a like irrelevant response by all and sundry. It is a lost cause, a barren chase, an exercise in futility.

A few days before his passing away, Sri Ramakrishna lay asleep on his bed at Kashipur Garden House with Narendranath at his feet sitting and serving him, perhaps gently rubbing his feet or fanning him. A thought arose in Narendra's mind, "Now in this pain of terminal cancer if he (Sri Ramakrishna) can say that he is God, I will accept it." Instantly, Sri Ramakrishna opened his eyes and said, "Even now you disbelieve? He who is Rama, He who is Krishna, has now descended in this body as Ramakrishna, but it is not in your Vedantic sense." Narendranath was dumbfounded.

This episode has been chronicled in 'Sri Sri Ramakrishna Kathamrita' or 'The Gospel of Sri Ramakrishna' by Mahendranath Gupta or M.

There is a sequel to this development in my life. In the early 1990s, I cannot recall which year, one Wednesday evening my mother came back excitedly from attending the Kathamrita class conducted by Swami Lokeshwarananda at the Ramakrishna Mission Institute of Culture. She burst a literal bombshell when she said, "Do you know what Swami Lokeshwaranandaji said today? He said that Thakur had not only said to Swamiji (read Narendranath) that he was Rama and Krishna in his previous incarnations but had actually given him visions to the same effect by alternately changing his form to that of Rama first and to that of Krishna thereafter." I was stupefied and could neither disbelieve my own mother nor accept it wholeheartedly till I had personally heard it from Lokeshwaranandaji himself. So, I decided to attend the following Wednesday's Kathamrita class.

Wednesday came. I was there at the Vivekananda Hall. The class went on as usual, was over after an hour at 7.15 p.m. when the prostrations (pranam) began. Devotees touched Swami Lokeshwaranandaji's feet. Some devotees waited on and I with them. The exit door of the hall was shut and Lokeshwaranandaji with his small group of intimate devotees was exiting the hall through the side door when I accosted him with thus, "Maharaj, I have something to ask you. Last Wednesday my mother had attended your class and had heard you say that Thakur had actually changed form to those of Rama and Krishna before Swamiji (read Narendranath) when he revealed at Kashipur who he was. I was absent last Wednesday at the Kathamrita class and missed it. I wish to hear it from your lips once again, Maharaj."

Swami Lokeshwaranandaji who was on the move halted in his course as did his entourage of devotees. He looked at me, cast an X-ray gaze through my being to know my intent and the content of my mind before softening up and proceeding thus: "Yes, it is a closely guarded secret at Belur Math which has been passed down from generation to generation of monks. We have heard it from our seniors.

১) বৈষ্ণবরা সাধারণতঃ গোঁড়া এবং ISKCON তো ঘোর তমসাচ্ছন্ন, অসহিষ্ণু এক কূপমণ্ডুক সংস্থা | তার এই দশা শুরু থেকেই, তার বাকসংযমহীন, অসংস্কৃত প্রতিষ্ঠাতা অভয়চরণারবিন্দ ভক্তিবেদান্ত স্বামী প্রভুপাদ হতেই | যেমন গুরু তেমন চেলা | প্রভুপাদের Morning Dialoguesগুলো Vani Talksএ দেখে নেবেন | দুর্মুখ, মিথ্যাচারী এই প্রচারক শ্রীরামকৃষ্ণ সম্বন্ধে এমন মিথ্যা কুৎসা রটিয়েছেন যা মুখে আনতেও সংস্কৃতিতে বাধে | আর শ্রীরামকৃষ্ণ? ISKCON ও প্রভুপাদ সম্বন্ধে এই কটুসত্যভাষণ করলাম বলেও তাঁর কাছে আমায় ক্ষমা চাইতে হবে কারণ প্রভুপাদের ইষ্টও ওই শ্রীরামকৃষ্ণ, তা তিনি অজ্ঞানতাবশতঃ জেনে থাকুন আর নাই থাকুন | আমরা তো তা জানি |

২) তুলনা নয় | শ্রীরামকৃষ্ণই শ্রীকৃষ্ণ | কিন্তু তা বুঝতে আধ্যাত্মিক শুভ সংস্কার লাগে | যেমন মুসলমানরা শ্রীকৃষ্ণকে আল্লাহ্ মানেন না, খৃষ্টাবলম্বীরাও শ্রীকৃষ্ণকে যীশু মানেন না | সে তো মুসলমানদের ও খৃষ্টানদের অপরিপূর্ণতার পরিচয়, তাতে শ্রীকৃষ্ণের ঈশ্বরত্ব ক্ষুন্ন হয় কণামাত্র কি? একইভাবে অধুনা ISKCONপন্থী কৃষ্ণভক্তরা শ্রীরামকৃষ্ণকে পূর্ণব্রহ্ম সনাতন মানল কি মানল না তা দিয়ে তো সত্য নিরুপণ করা যায়না | স্বামীজী প্রমুখ তাবড় তাবড় ব্রহ্মজ্ঞানী মহাপুরুষেরা তাঁকে সেই শঙ্খচক্রগদাপদ্মধারী পীতাম্বর ব্রজবিহারীরূপে তাঁদের ধ্যানে, চিন্তনে, অতিন্দ্রিয় অনুভূতিতে প্রত্যক্ষ করেছেন | এর বেশী প্রমাণ আর কি হতে পারে? Shakespeareএর একটা কথা আছে জানেন তো?---'Note the Devil doth cite the scripture for his purpose.' ISKCONপন্থীদেরও শাস্ত্রবচন অনুরূপ | স্বামীজীর 'বাণী ও রচনা' তন্ন তন্ন করে শ্রদ্ধাবনতচিত্তে পাঠ করুন | 'শ্রীশ্রীরামকৃষ্ণ কথামৃত' নিত্য পড়ুন | তবে তো জ্ঞানচক্ষু উন্মিলিত হবে | 

৩) শ্রীরামকৃষ্ণঅনুগামীরা সকল সম্প্রদায়ের ইষ্টকে শ্রদ্ধার চোখে দেখেন | আপনার ধারণা ভুল যে তাঁরা অন্যান্য সম্প্রদায়ের আরাধ্য দেব, আরাধ্যা দেবীদের মানেন না | তাঁদের মত সর্বমতগ্রহিতা আর এ জগতে কে আছেন?

৪) রামকৃষ্ণ মিশন তো শতাধিক বছর ধরে দেশগঠনের কাজ করে চলেছে | আর আপনাদের সে ব্যাপারে অবদান?

৫) বোঝার সূত্রটি যতদিন বোঝারূপে বিদ্যমান থাকবে আপনার স্কন্ধে, ততদিন তো তার মস্তিষ্কে উত্তোরণ ঘটবে না, আর তাই তার মর্মার্থটুকু বোঝাও যাবে না | সবই সংস্কারসাপেক্ষ | পবিত্র চিত্তে শ্রীভগবানকে ক্রমান্বয়ে স্মরণ করতে থাকুন, তিনিই কৃপাপরবশ হয়ে বোঝাবেন কালক্রমে যে তিনি কে | তখন দেখবেন আপনার ইষ্ট বাসুদেব ও পরমহংসদেব এক ও অভিন্ন | 'কালেনাত্মনি বিন্দতি' |

৬) সহস্রারে চড়ে বসে রয়েছেন স্বয়ং পরমহংসদেব যিনি বাসুদেব ও আরো অধিক প্রকাশিত | তাই ঐহিক বৈদ্যের কর্ম নয় এ অধ্যাত্মভাব বিদূরিত করা | ভবব্যাধি দূর হয়ে চৈতন্য হয় | কোন বৈদ্য আছেন যে সে চৈতন্য দূর করে পুনরায় মায়ায় আকর্ষণ করতে সমর্থ হবেন?

৭) উনি সনাতনী কিনা এ বিষয়ে যথার্থ সন্দেহই প্রকাশ করেছেন আপনি | সহজ কথা, সনাতনী কি কখনও সংকীর্ণ হন ?

৮) কালের ব্যাপ্তিটা বড় ছোট করে ফেললেন, ঠিক হৃদয়ের আয়তনের মাপে | শ্রীরামকৃষ্ণ ১৮৮৬ সালের অগস্ট মাসে নরেন্দ্রনাথকে (ভবিষ্যতের বিবেকানন্দকে) এই অনুভব করিয়েছিলেন যে তিনিই পূর্ব পূর্ব যুগে শ্রীরামচন্দ্র ও শ্রীকৃষ্ণরূপে ধরায় অবতীর্ণ হয়েছিলেন, অধুনা শ্রীরামকৃষ্ণরূপে | অর্থাৎ, ১৩৭ বর্ষ অতিক্রান্ত এই ঘটনা যাকে আপনি এ মাসের joke বলে ঠাট্টা করলেন | বড়ই সংকীর্ণতার পরিচয় দিলেন যাকে কালকার্পণ্য বলা চলে | হৃদয়কে প্রসারিত করুন | সদর্পে বলুন, joke of the century! তবে তো |

১০) শাস্ত্র কি এক জায়গায় থেমে থাকে? সে তো প্রবহমান কালের সাথে সাথে সনাতন সত্যকে নবকলেবরে সজ্জিত করে যুগোপযোগী করে নেয় | এরই নাম যুগধর্মসংস্থাপন, আর যে বাণীসমূহ তাকে শব্দরূপ দেয়, তাই যুগশাস্ত্র |

১১) তা তো বটেই | শ্রীরামকৃষ্ণ মাটির মানুষ | সর্বসাধারণের মহৎ কল্যাণের জন্য আবির্ভূত হয়েছেন এ যুগে | তাঁর কাজ জনগণেশের সর্বাঙ্গীন উত্থান | তিনি তাই grass rootsএ, অর্থাৎ তৃণমূলে, কাজ করে গেছেন ও প্রবুদ্ধ করেছেন তাঁর অনুগামীদের সেই মর্মে সেবাকাজ করতে যে ধারা ১২৬ বছরেরও বেশী দিন ধরে বয়ে চলেছে পূত জাহ্নবীর ন্যায় পূর্ণ মহিমায় | এই সেবাযোগ যুগধর্ম | এর পালনেই দশের তথা দেশের তথা সমগ্র বিশ্বের কল্যাণ | আপনারাও সেবাযোগের এই মহান রথচক্রঘূর্ণনে বলপ্রদান করুন |

১২) বিবেকানন্দ ব্যাসদেব নন, শুকদেবসম জিতেন্দ্রিয়, আকুমার ঊর্ধ্বরেতা | তাঁর মুখনিসৃত বাণী শাস্ত্র | তিনি স্বয়ং মহাদেব যাঁকে আপনারা মূঢ়তাবশতঃ কৃষ্ণকিংকর বলে অপমান করেন | তা আর কি করবেন? এই সংকীর্ণ ভাবধারা তো আপনাদের পূর্বসূরীদের আমল থেকেই চলে আসছে | আপনারা শুধু তাঁদের অযোগ্য উত্তরাধিকারী কারণ আপনারা অনেক বৈষ্ণবাপরাধ করে চলেছেন যা তাঁরা করেননি | আপনাদের প্রতিষ্ঠাতার বিনয়ভাষণ সম্বন্ধে জগত অবহিত | তাঁর সুযোগ্য অনুসারী আপনারা | অতএব, আপনাদের এই আচরণ আশানুরূপ | যেদিন রামকৃষ্ণ-বিবেকানন্দের স্বরূপ জ্ঞাত হবেন, সেদিন থেকে আধ্যাত্মিক নবজন্ম লাভ করে যথার্থ কৃষ্ণভজনার দ্বারা আপনাদের জীবন ধন্য হবে | তার আগে বকধার্মিকের বাণিজ্য চলুক | 🕉

১৩) সৌরভের এত দুর্গন্ধ বাক্যবিন্যাসে? নামের যাথার্থ রইল না | নামই বৈষ্ণবের ভূষণ | নিজনামের মর্যাদা যিনি রক্ষায় অক্ষম, তিনি শ্রীভগবানের নামের মর্যাদা রক্ষা করবেন কি উপায়ে?

১৪) শ্রীরামকৃষ্ণকে আমরা যুগপ্রয়োজন অনুযায়ী শ্রীকৃষ্ণের পরিবর্ধিত নবকলেবর বলে মানি, এটি হল আপনাদের মতে joke of the month | আর আপনারা? জোঁক (leech) of the commercial world, intent only on feeding fat on the purse of the prosperous. এই ধর্মটি তো বংশীধারীর গীতা অনুমোদিত নয় | এটি তো capitalismএর বিষবংশ |

১৫) অমোঘ লীলা প্রভু শাস্তি পেলে কি হবে? সংস্থাগত সঙ্কীর্ণ মতবাদ তো পরিবর্তিত হবে না | ওঁদের প্রতিষ্ঠাতাই তো এই অপপ্রচার, অপব্যাখ্যা ও অপবাদ দেওয়ার পথিকৃত | ওঁরা তো তাঁরই অনুগামী, পদাঙ্ক অনুসারী, তাঁরই প্রতিচ্ছায়া |

১৬) কিন্তু এমনি এমনি ঠাকুর তাঁর আসন আজ জনমানসে পাননি | এর জন্য স্বামীজীকে আত্মবলি দিতে হয়েছে | আমাদেরও কর্তব্য ক্লীবতা পরিত্যাগ করে সেই ভাবান্দোলনকে সুদৃঢ়ভাবে প্রচার করার জন্য স্বীয় চরিত্রগঠন ও ক্ষাত্রবীর্য প্রদর্শন অরিদমনে | শুধু বিষাদক্লিষ্ট অর্জুনের ন্যায় অথবা স্বার্থপর কাপুরুষের ন্যায় বসে থাকলে অধর্ম হবে | তাই সংগ্রাম প্রতিনিয়ত করতে হবে ঠাকুর-স্বামীজীর ভাবটি ঠিক রাখার জন্য | আত্মতুষ্টিতে কাজ চলবে না, লড়তে হবে বইকি | "Non-resistance for the sannyasi, resistance for the householder," said Swamiji.

১৭) আর অরিদমনে ক্ষাত্রবীর্য | কারণ স্বামীজী বলেছেন, "Never patronise wickedness." আবার বলেছেন, "Non-resistance for the sannyasi, resistance for the householder." শ্রীকৃষ্ণও বিষাদক্লীষ্ট ত্রস্ত অর্জুনকে বলেছেন, "क्लैब्यंमास्म गमः पार्थ नैतदत्ययुपपद्यते क्षुद्रं हृदयदौर्बल्यम त्याक्तोत्तिष्ठ परन्तप || (Cast off this unmanliness, this mean faint-heartedness and arise, O scorcher of thy enemies!)

১৮) এত রামকৃষ্ণবিদ্বেষ কেন? তিনিই তো আপনার ইষ্ট শ্রীকৃষ্ণ | তাহলে কেন ইষ্টনিন্দা করে পাপের ভাগীদার হচ্ছেন? এই ভেদবুদ্ধি কবে যাবে?

১৯) রামকৃষ্ণ নয়, শ্রীরামকৃষ্ণ, কারণ শ্রীকৃষ্ণ বলেছেন আপনি | শ্রদ্ধা সমানভাবে দেখানো বাঞ্ছনীয় |

২০) বাংলার দুর্ভাগ্য যে তার সাংস্কৃতিক এই দুর্দশা আজ!

২১) Why, Maharaj? What change in language would you object to? This is necessary, a bit of salt sometimes to spice up discourse and make the food palatable.

২২) শ্রীরামকৃষ্ণ যে ঈশ্বর, এ তো অবিসংবাদিত সত্য বলে স্বীকৃত বহুলাংশে বিদ্যদ্মহলে, সাধুসমাজে যেখানে যথার্থ অধ্যাত্মবোধের স্ফূরণ ঘটেছে |

২৩) দীপ তো জ্বলবেই | চক্রে আবর্তিত জীব যেমন জ্বলে ত্রীতাপে---भ्रामयण सर्वभूतानि यन्त्ररूढ़हानि मायया ||

Rascal---এ শব্দটি না জানি বারে বারে কার কন্ঠে প্রথমবার শুনি ?

আবার ধ্বনিত হল, এ যে প্রতিধ্বনি শুনি |

২৫) স্বয়ং স্বামী বিবেকানন্দ যাঁকে 'অবতারবরিষ্ঠ' বলে অভিহিত করেছেন, সেখানে সমস্যা তো বহু পূর্বেই সমাধান হয়ে গেছে | সাক্ষাৎ শিবের ব্রহ্মবাক্য | এখন অপেক্ষা শুধু জনবিবর্তনের | সে তো কালসাপেক্ষ |

২৬) এঁরা আবার কারা? কোন কারাগারে বাস করেন? কোন কারাগারের কারিগর?

২৭) ত্রিসন্ধ্যা গঞ্জিকাসেবন ? তত সামর্থ নেই | সে তো মহাদেবের সামিল হলে সক্ষম হব, যে দেবাদিদেবকে আমরা পূর্ণব্রহ্ম বলে গণ্য করি কিন্তু আপনারা যাঁকে কৃষ্ণকিঙ্কর বলে অপমান করেন, ভুলে যান যে স্বীয় ইষ্টদেব বাসুদেবকেই পক্ষান্তরে অবমাননা করছেন |

২৮) আমি ব্রহ্ম, আপনিও তাই | দ্বন্দ্বময় রহস্যশেষে বোধে বোধ হবে |

২৯) আপনি মার্ক্স হবেন ? অনেক বিদ্যে চাই হতে গেলে | মস্করায় তো মস্কাধিপতি মার্ক্স হওয়া হবে না |

৩০) বৈষ্ণববিনয় কই ? মহাপ্রভু তো কাউকে তাচ্ছিল্য করতেন না | শ্রদ্ধাভরে পড়ে দেখুনই না কিছুকাল 'স্বামী বিবেকানন্দের বাণী ও রচনা' | সব করামলকবৎ প্রত্যক্ষ হয়ে যাবে |

৩১) ঠাকুর বিশ্বচরাচর, স্থাবরজঙ্গম, অনু হতে ক্ষুদ্র, আবার মহৎ হতেও মহান |

৩২) Your observation bespeaks your innocence in Ramakrishna-Vivekananda literature. Be better versed by self-study instead of indulging in hearsay, and arrive at your inference.

৩৩) শ্রবণ, মনন, নিদিধ্যাসন---এই ত্রয়ী অখণ্ড ব্রহ্মচর্যের ভিত্তিতে কিছুকাল সাধন করলে জ্ঞানচক্ষু খোলে | তখন বোঝা যায় সত্যাসত্য, তার আগে নয় যদি না স্বয়ংপ্রকাশ হয়ে পড়ে তত্ত্ব পূর্ব পূর্ব জন্মের শুভ সংস্কারহেতু | শ্রীরামকৃষ্ণকে অথবা ঈশ্বরের যে কোন অবতারকে বুঝতে গেলে এই সাধনের মধ্য দিয়ে যেতে হবে | অধ্যয়ণ ও আধ্যাত্মিকতা, দুইই চাই |

৩৪) "যে রাম, যে কৃষ্ণ, ইদানিং সেই রামকৃষ্ণরূপে অবতীর্ণ হয়েছে, তবে তোর বেদান্তের দিক দিয়ে নয় |" এ কথা কাশীপুর উদ্যানবাটিতে মহাসমাধির দুদিন আগে শ্রীরামকৃষ্ণ নরেন্দ্রনাথকে, অর্থাৎ, ভাবীকালের যুগাচার্য স্বামী বিবেকানন্দকে বলেছিলেন ও সেই মর্মে দর্শনও দিয়েছিলেন |

৩৫) মরণ তো এই নশ্বর দেহের হবেই কিন্তু তার আগে আত্মজ্ঞানলাভটা সেরে নেওয়া যাক | কি বলেন ? দেহী ও দেহের পার্থক্যবোধ, দেহীর স্বাতন্ত্র ?

৩৬) রামকৃষ্ণ-বিবেকানন্দ সাহিত্য বিষদভাবে অধ্যয়ণ করুন আগে | তারপর মতামত জানাবেন আবার | দেখবেন কত পরিবর্তিত ধারণা, চেতনা, বোধ ও তৎপরবর্তি অনুভূতিভিত্তিক ভিন্নমানের শ্রদ্ধাবনত বিশ্বাস |

৩৭) বটেই তো কিন্তু ভেঙিয়ে কৃষ্ণ অপরাধ করছেন |

৩৮) ভগবদ্বংশ নিয়ে আপনার বেশ অনুধ্যান আছে মনে হচ্ছে? অনাদিপুরুষের পিতা ও পিতামহের হদীস পেয়ে গেছেন দেখছি? তা মন্দ নয়, ঠিক দিশাতেই যাচ্ছেন | স্বামীজী তো বলেইছিলেন, "রামকৃষ্ণ ভগবানের বাবা |"

৩৯) যেদিন বুঝবে যে সকল মেয়ের মধ্যেই মায়ের স্বল্পাধিক আবির্ভাব |

৪০) মহাপ্রভুর দিগ্বিজয়ের কথা আপেক্ষিক শ্রেষ্ঠত্বের নিরিখে এভাবে তুললে তো স্বামীজীর আরও সুবৃহৎ বিশ্ববিজয়ের কথা তুলতে হয় |

৪১) ও, বুঝেছি | পসার জমছে না বুঝি? তা আপনার chamberটি কোথায়? সুযোগ হলে আপনার পরামর্শ অনুযায়ী মাঠাটা দেখিয়ে নেওয়া যাবে এখন | আর কিছু না হোক, দুটি অর্থ দিয়ে আপনাকে একটু সাহায্য তো করা যাবে | জানি, briefless barrister আর patientless, pennyless physicianএর বড় কষ্ট | তা আপনার feeটা কত?

৪২) শ্রীরামকৃষ্ণ স্বয়ং সচ্চিদানন্দ পরম ব্রহ্ম | সচ্চিদানন্দ জগদ্গুরু | তাই শ্রীরামকৃষ্ণ জগদ্গুরু |

৪৩) আপনারা শ্রীরামকৃষ্ণকে ঈশ্বরাবতাররূপে অথবা স্বয়ং পুরানপুরুষ শ্রীকৃষ্ণরূপে মানছেন না, তাতে আপত্তি নেই | আপনারা তাঁকে কৃষ্ণকিঙ্করী তামসী কালীর সাধকমাত্র মানতে রাজী আছেন, তাতেও বা কি বলার থাকতে পারে কারণ তা স্বীয়সংস্কৃতির পরিচয় বহন করছে | কিন্তু এটাও ভেবে দেখুন যে কেউ যদি ইচ্ছামাত্র নিজের রূপ পরিবর্তন করে কৃষ্ণরূপ, রামরূপ, কালীরূপ, শিবরূপ অবলীলায় ধারণ করতে পারেন ও সেই সেই পন্থার সাধকসাধিকাদের স্ব স্ব পথে সিদ্ধিলাভ করিয়ে দিতে পারেন, যদি কেউ মুহুর্মুহু ভাবসমাধিতে ও প্রায়শঃই নির্বিকল্প সমাধিতে মগ্ন হতে পারেন, যদি কেউ শাস্ত্রকথিত 'শুদ্ধম অপাপবিদ্ধম' জীবন আজীবন যাপন করতে পারেন, যদি তিনি বিবেকানন্দ, ব্রহ্মানন্দ, প্রেমানন্দ প্রমুখ উচ্চকোটির নিত্যসিদ্ধ মহাপুরুষের মনকে কাদার তালের মত যেমন ইচ্ছা ভাঙতে গড়তে পারেন, প্রায় নিরক্ষর ব্রাহ্মণ হয়েও যদি তিনি তৎকালীন বিদ্যদ্জনের ও সাধুসমাজের ঈশ্বরপ্রতীম শ্রদ্ধা আকর্ষণ করে থাকতে পারেন, যুগপ্রয়োজনে এক অভূতপূর্ব সংঘগঠন করে মানবকল্যাণের নিমিত্ত কর্ম করে থাকতে পারেন, যাঁর মহিমা সুদূর ইংলণ্ডের অক্সফোর্ড শহরে বসে জার্মান ভারততত্ত্ববিদ পণ্ডিত ম্যাক্স ম্যুলর অনুভব করতে পারেন ও তাঁকে অবতার বলে নিজে থেকে স্বীকার করতে পারেন, যাঁর প্রভাব স্বীয় শিষ্য বিবেকানন্দের বাণীর মারফৎ প্রবাদপ্রতীম রুশ ঔপন্যাসিক কাউন্ট লিও টল্সটয়কে ভাবোদ্ভ্রান্ত করে দিতে পারে, যাঁর কথা শুনে অনুপ্রাণিত হয়ে নোবেলবিজয়ী ফরাসী ঔপন্যাসিক, ঐতিহাসিক ও সংগীতবিশেষজ্ঞ রোঁমা রোঁলা তাঁর বিখ্যাত জীবনীগ্রন্থ রচনা করেন, কেশবচন্দ্র সেন, শ্রী অরবিন্দ, রবীন্দ্রনাথ, নজরুল ইসলাম, নেতাজী, গান্ধীজী, নেহরু, রাজাগোপালাচারি ও আরও কত মনীষীজন শ্রদ্ধায় মাথা নত করেন, তাঁকে ঈশ্বরাবতার বলব না তো কাকে বলব? পুরানকথিত আধা সত্য, আধা কল্পিত, অবিশ্বাস্য সব কাহিনীকে ও তার অবিশ্বাস্য সব কেন্দ্রিক পুরুষকে? শ্রীরামকৃষ্ণ ইচ্ছামাত্র সমাধিদান করতে পারতেন যে কোন প্রার্থীকে | মুক্তিদান ছিল তাঁর করতলগত | তাঁর ন্যায় অকামহত, অপাপবিদ্ধ, অখণ্ডশুদ্ধ জীবন পৃথিবীর ইতিহাসে আর একটিও মিলবে না | তাই তিনি ভগবান | কৃষ্ণ তিনি, রাম তিনি, চৈতন্য তিনি, যীশু তিনি, তা তিনি নিজমুখে বলেছেন, যে জিহ্বা জীবনে একটি মিথ্যা কথাও কখনও বলেনি | কিন্তু এ তো তাঁর পরিচয়ের মুখবন্ধমাত্র | তিনি তার থেকে অনেক বড়, ধারণাতীত মাহাত্ম্য তাঁর | এ ভক্তের ভাবালুতায় অতিভাষণ নয় | রামকৃষ্ণ-বিবেকানন্দ সাহিত্য মন দিয়ে পড়ুন দীর্ঘদিন ধরে | সব করামলকবৎ হয়ে যাবে কালে |

৪৪) আপনাকে কে মানতে বলছে? কোটি কোটি রামকৃষ্ণভক্ত শ্রীরামকৃষ্ণকে বেদের আদি পুরুষ মানেন, সাক্ষাৎ পূর্ণব্রহ্ম সনাতন মানেন | তাঁরাই আপাততঃ মানুন | আপনি আপনার ইষ্টে নিষ্ঠাবান থাকুন |

কেন সরব হচ্ছেন না? ওঁরা চোরাগোপ্তা চালিয়ে যাচ্ছেন বিবেকানন্দবিরোধী কার্যকলাপ | দেখেও দেখবেন না? শুনেও শুনবেন না? তাহলে কোথায় আনুগত্য ওই মহান সন্ন্যাসীর প্রতি যিনি সর্বস্ব দিয়েছেন আমাদের উত্থানের জন্য?

সে যুগে মিথ্যারোপের দ্বারা তাঁকে কলঙ্কিত করেছেন দেশে বিদেশে অনেকে | প্রতিবাদ হয়নি সেদিন | কেউ স্বামীজীর সপক্ষে দুকথা বলেননি | আজও সেই ধারা চলেছে | আর আজও যুক্তিযুক্ত কথা বলে কেউ তার যথাযথ উত্তর দিচ্ছেন না |

ভক্তদের মৌনাবলম্বন এ বিষয়ে পীড়াদায়ক | সবই কি আমাদের মত কয়েক জন করবেন আর বাকিরা নিষ্চেষ্ট হয়ে বসে থাকবেন জীবনে অন্যান্য কাজকর্ম আছে এই অছিলায় ? তাহলে কোথায় স্বামীজীর প্রতি ভালবাসা? কোথায় সত্যের প্রতি নিষ্ঠা?

এমন তুফান তুলুন যে ভবিষ্যতে এরূপ অসত্যবচনের দ্বারা স্বামীজীর ন্যায় মহাপুরুষকে কারো স্পর্ধা না হয় কলঙ্কিত করার প্রয়াস পেতে | স্বামীজীর বাণী ও রচনার, এমনকি জীবনের ঘটনাবলীর, শিষ্টাচার রক্ষা করে বৌদ্ধিক সমালোচনা হতেই পারে কিন্তু মিথ্যার আশ্রয় নিয়ে তাঁকে কলঙ্কিত করার অধিকার কি কারো আছে?

But I agree with you that it was a sheer wastage of public money, an unpardonable offence in the name of downplaying Nehru by raising Patel against him, masquerading it all the way as a patriotic act of supreme relevance, considering the fact that Patel had integrated 550 states to form the Union of India. Such gross wastage of funds reminds me of Swamiji's words in his lecture 'Is Vedanta the Future Religion?' where he mentions that 'The poor man is a democrat. When he becomes rich, he becomes an aristocrat.'

Sugata Bose @Giridhari Sao : I will preach the name of my God as I please on my profile wall, for I do not offend any by uncivil language. If you have a problem, it is your lookout. You cannot dictate terms to me. Writing is an expression of freedom, an attribute in manifestation of one's own self so long as it does not harm or hurt any. My writing is civil and it does not cause hurt to any unless people choose to be unduly, irrationally hurt in their overfragility of bearing. So, I think what I write is my prerogative and I do not need unwarranted supercilious advice on that count.

Sugata Bose @Subhrajyoti Bhowmick : Evil is in your surface, relative, human perception that is fraught with ignorance. The Divine is the base of all. Once you have realised your Self (Atman), you will see all as manifestations of your very Self which is Sachchidananda, Existence-Consciousness-Bliss Absolute.

Sugata Bose @Soham Pain : No, I did not mean that. That was a generalisation indicating the sweep of the movement en route to which all dualistic affirmations come by. From the Many one moves to the One. I had averred in the post on Man the God amd anthropomorphism. You brought in zoomorphism. To complete the cycle I brought in the Absolute Self. That is all I did. When did I degrade in relative terms Mira Bai and Sri Chaitanya whose devotion and transcendent unity with the Divine culminating in realisation of the Atman is implicitly covered and is part and parcel of the sweep of this spiritual evolution of the animal to man, from man to God and from the dualistic God to the Absolute Brahman? Buddha and Shankaracharya were the outer persons who propounded the philosophies of the Void and the Fullness respectively but have no bearing to the observation made by me in the previous comment. You in personalising it have evidently misread my intent and hence the misinterpretation and misgiving. I reiterate, this was merely by way of completing what I thought was the spiritual movement of the soul from the animal to man, from man to the dualistic God and from the dualistic God to the Absolute Brahman.

Sugata Bose @Swati Mukherjee : One needs to be pure in thought, word and speech, in body and mind. That is basic brahmacharya or continence. Knowledge of scripture is not mandatory. Instruction from the Guru and adherence to it is enough. Love of one's Ishta (Chosen Ideal), beholding one's spiritual preceptor as representative of one's Ishta and living a perfectly pure life will lead to the goal of Self-realisation or Atmajnana. Sanskrit need not be learnt which is why the last incarnation of God in Sri Ramakrishna chose not to learn it and be erudite in the Shastras (scriptures). Proceed with pure longing and a pure heart and Thakur-Ma-Swamiji will lead you along till you are one with them.

Sugata Bose @Supriya Majumdar : But the Real Man is even greater than the frail conception man has of God, that is the dualistic God of popular imagination. The Real Man is Brahman and in samadhi he witnesses himself as the Transcendent Reality, although these perceptions are difficult to express in language. Read Swamiji's 'The Real and the Apparent Man', Volume 2, Complete Works, to arrive at a clearer compression of the concept which is representative of the Reality, though.

Sugata Bose @Sunit Gupta : The right resistance to inner corruption is being provided to clean up the house. Unity cannot be forged by pandering to inner evil. It can only be built on the secure foundation of mutual acceptance and not a one-way acceptance by only the Ramakrishna Mission of all others who indulge in mocking their iconic figures unduly, basing their disgraceful criticism on unfounded facts and utter falsity, casting aspersions to gain organisational mileage et al. The polity must always be purged of malefic elements to lend it durability and strength and the much required unity one mentions.

P.S. The current episode gone viral on social media is but the tip of the iceberg. Such vilification of our national icons with specific emphasis on Ramakrishna-Vivekananda and the Ramakrishna Mission has been going on for far too long since the 1960s by this organisation and needs to be brought to a halt to help forge the unity of the Hindus. So long as sectarianism flourishes with a toxic turn on doctrinaire basis it is bad enough. To add fuel to fire by mocking seminal sages of the stature of Ramakrishna and Vivekananda is like lending sledgehammer blows at the very foundation of the Hindu polity. If such anti-Hindu activities are not protested against, where should one go to seek Hindu unity? The proselytising Abrahamic threat is visible but this inner virus is eating into the vitals of Hindu society. Hence, civilised resistance is the sine qua non. And remember, the spreading of misinformation about Swami Vivekananda by ill-informed and ill-intentioned people bearing the burden of this organisation is still on which is drawing the necessary flak from the countless devotees and followers of the cyclonic monk.
