A VERBAL DUEL ... MOHIT KUMAR DE AND MYSELF

Sugata Bose To routinely articulate 'Jai Hind' after a beautiful rendition of a musical piece is quite out of tune and inharmonious.
Mohit Kumar De I do not think so. It depends who is doing that. Every point cannot be in the same straight line. To draw this type of conclusion is unfair. Three angles of a triangle do not add up to 180 degrees if they are not drawn on the same plane (plane geometry).
Sugata Bose Mark the word 'routinely' and you will have received clarification on your abrupt understanding.

Sugata Bose See how the utterance of 'Jai Hind' here after the musical rendition at the end of the video is abrupt, artificial and, therefore, incongruous. This is not an isolated case but is rather the general trend these days among people professing to be followers of Netaji, more in word than in deed or in spirit. So far as non-Euclidean geometry is concerned, the summation of the angles of a triangle is only uniquely 180 degrees and never generally so. So, the argument falls flat in its lack of correlation to the contentious point and is rather far-fetched in its implication.
Mohit Kumar De Thank you. But still this cannot be generalised as these may be genuine people. Mankind have so many variables. But if this is your experience then yes it is possible. And there are people (especially politicians) amongst us who love to pretend.
Sugata Bose You still fail to understand the import of the term 'routinely'.
Mohit Kumar De Because I respect the word '"routinely"as that has disciplined me all the time.
Sugata Bose You fail to yet realise the nuance of its use.
Sugata Bose Make sure you view the video or take time to consider before you hazard a counter-argument on an impulse which, sadly, is the wont of people busying themselves on social media these days.
Sugata Bose Mohit Babu, routine disciplining of life is one thing and aesthetics another. Here the 'Sundaram' ideal is under purview and beauty is never strictly in the domain of nationalism or subservient to it. It stands independent and above all temporal considerations and cannot be made to serve utilitarian purposes which nationalism less than when at its sublimest necessarily entails.
Mohit Kumar De I wish I were a politician and not an educationalist. But now that is not possible. What I am I am. And I have no regrets.
Sugata Bose Mohit Babu, in case you harbour the idea that I am a politician, let me inform you that I am a humble teacher who is still learning. But that does not detract me from upholding the lofty principles of our ancient culture to suit contemporary practices which stand, to my understanding, often antithetical to the pristine principles enshrined in our hoary heritage but rather enjoin me to remind my brethren about the legacy they are heir to.
Mohit Kumar De But there is a gulf of difference between our environments and experiences. And that has made our philosophy of life different.
Sugata Bose Quite so, and that is the beauty of variation, of diversity which we so celebrate but which also allows space for constructive criticism of practices profane in terms of intent and never in absolute terms as such. The national legacy is too precious to be forthwith cast away and culture allowed to precipitate without putting up a semblance of an opposition to it or resistance worth the while. Decadence rots routinely culture as is the experience of declining civilisation through the annals of history and unless right-thinking individuals offer their resistance to such degeneration, the nadir of civilisation will inevitably be arrived at in the fullness of time. Lest such a catastrophe slowly and imperceptibly visits us, it is saner to address the issue thus and not brush it aside as inconsequential, for the seeds of future decadence are microscopic in dimensions that evade the cursory view but are potent in terms of possibilities productive of cataclysmic proportions.
