What we need is originality. It is the same routine rigmarole of past utterances that find expression everyday in the name of the scriptures without a freshening up with new facts, new discoveries, new experiences, new ventures to affirm eternal truths laid bare ages ago. "Our Teacher and Lord was so original and each one of us will have to be original or nothing," so said Swamiji. Alas! his words have fallen like showers in the desert-sand. And the lemon, squeezed dry till it is bereft of drop anymore, continues to be the object of such torture while human blood flows freely to fill fresh Gangas where the fallen bodies of men lie prostrate like the Matted One of old.

Originality is the spontaneous overflow of the Atman which in cosmic terms is the phenomenal universe and in individual terms the creative spirit which keeps the Spirit alive of a movement dying everyday amidst the dagger-thrusts of Maya. It is this freshness of purpose, perception and pronouncement that prevents a pool from putrefying and keeps the Water of Life pure. So, be original like the ancient scientists of the Spirit, the Rishis of India, and do not convert the Science of the Soul into a Religion, rotting and redundant.
