WNEN AMNESIA STRIKES A NATION AND CHARACTER IS IN SHORT SUPPLY

WNEN AMNESIA STRIKES A NATION AND CHARACTER IS IN SHORT SUPPLY

This boy is not celebrated as much as he should be and it is a shame that it should be so. Merely saying 'Pranam' or 'Jai Hind' insults his memory more than he deserves. It is best to read more about him and his fellow revolutionaries and pay sincere tributes to them by our life's sacrifice and service to the motherland than we are wont to doing, and instead of maintaining a hypocritical stance to his martyrdom's memory as our politicians do, we ought to raise monuments of our life's selfless achievements in the service of our beloved motherland. Let us then begin to learn more about him and, so, pay our reverential  homage unto this martyr's memory. How strange it is that the day of Gandhiji's assassination (30 January, 1948) at the hands of a fellow Indian, the patriot Nathuram Godse, is remembered as 'Martyr's Day' and not the day of the real martyrdom of Khudiram at the scaffold (11 August, 1908) at the hands of the dastardly British !
