VANDE MATARAM ... 1

VANDE MATARAM ... 1

Defining and dubbing people as nationalists and 'antinational' divides the polity where intelligence is denigrated and dissenters of the ruling dispensation, if even highly discerning, curbed by constant diatribe and denunciation. Such an untrammelled authoritarianism does not befit a genuine democracy and makes it merely a titular one. The sooner sanity is restored to the polity and slavish clinging to toxic ideals -- if even cherished by one through narrow nationalism -- renounced, the better for its future prospects.

In this modern age one has to have a modern vision of integrated cultural coexistence and archaic revivalist notions must give way to progressive thinking where the human species will no more be divided into cultural factions forever fighting with each other. Then and then alone will the nation stand strong and survive the vicissitudes of the times and of the times to come.

In a comprehensive national philosophy of inclusiveness alone lies the future well-being of the nation. One needs to go back to the nation's spiritual roots to be able to appreciate the validity of the aforementioned desirable national position, for one will find such a stance vindicated in the pronouncements of the ancient scriptures.
