THE NATIONAL NEED ... 15

THE NATIONAL NEED ... 15

How can highly educated people become accomplices in the destruction of the motherland and co-conspirators in the undermining of our nation's Hindu heritage through perfidious appeasement of the clerics of the minority community? Is this where their education and associated culture has brought them to be? It is simply amazing to witness that not one among these has the courage of conviction to oppose this leader who is openly flouting the ground rules of Indian federalism and undermining every principle of the Constitution of India while taking recourse to copious quotes from Tagore, Nazrul, Vidyasagar, Netaji, Ambedkar, Ramakrishna and Vivekananda to undermine the interests of the Hindus. This is simply amazing and a pointer to the utter lack of character strength in whosoever dons the politician's attire these days. My politician friends, are you listening? Give up your self-interest and start serving the nation in truth before the people of this country disrobe you of such attire and force you to work for the common weal. Change while yet there is time.
This state is being sold to perfidious forces and we must resist its destruction if we care for the Hindus and if we truly care for our motherland. Cowardice will not do. Come on, wake up and take up the cause of re-establishment of the Sanatan Dharma which forms the bedrock of our culture and alone can save this country from a corrosive conversion to alien ideology that will obliterate the Hindus and their glorious civilisation for good.

PONDER BEFORE YOU PERISH

PONDER BEFORE YOU PERISH

Five times a day loudspeakers are allowed in West Bengal calling Muslims to prayer but forcing every other community to listen to it as well. From dawn to deep night it goes on. Why? Is this the practice of secularism or is this a dangerous appeasement of the Muslims to secure votes and hang on to power thus with disastrous future implications for the polity? How would the duo of Swami Vivekananda and Sri Aurobindo have reacted to it were they alive today to witness this? Is this West Bengal where 70% of the population are as yet Hindus, although declining rapidly with every passing decade, or is it progressively becoming a potentially theocratic state with the religion of the 30% minority community being thrust down everybody's throat to suffocation of all else? What is the future of Hindus in this state?

FREE SPEECH AND REASONABLE RESTRICTION

FREE SPEECH AND REASONABLE RESTRICTION

Whither democracy in the absence of perfect freedom of speech? How far does free speech go and where exactly do 'reasonable restrictions' come in to impede the right to criticise fanatical doctrinaire principles of proselytising religions? Why tolerate the intolerant? Why appease the elements that partitioned the nation? Just for securing electoral advantage? Why must ministers befriend fatwa-wielding clerics and felicitate them on open platform? It is not alright to criticise the intolerance of fanatical religions but it is perfectly permissible for clerics to issue death threats on free thinkers like Taslima Nasreen. Is this the exercise of reasonable restriction on free speech by these rogues? Governments that speak in lofty terms about modernity and progress have a lot to answer for when they are party to protecting and helping proliferate such perfidious political interests served them by clerics who issue declarations of death and goad fanatics on to carry out such dastardly designs to their devilish destiny.

P.S. : @Debaprasad Bhattacharya : Is talking about the truths of Islam and Islamists going against the principle of respecting others' sentiments? Is bringing to light the facts of everyday occurrence in the name of Islam, the terror attacks, the murder of bloggers, the misogyny, the patriarchal oppression of women, the destruction of Hindu temples and Hindu life and property in Bangladesh, the Bangladeshi government's inaction against the perpetrators of such crimes, the suppression and oppression of Hindus in Bangladesh in every possible way such that life there has become unbearable, forcing the fleeing of Hindus to India and to other lands, the appeasement of successive governments in West Bengal from the Left Front days to the TMC days now of the Muslims and the open felicitation done by the powers that be to the fatwa-wielding Muslim clerics a democratic right of an authoress who wishes to awaken public awareness about these regressive issues or is it an infringement of the rights of Muslims who wish to cling to archaic scriptural principles or are too submissive and fearful to speak out against the regressive forces in their fold, and so, in effect, powerfully contribute to the perpetuation of these perfidious forces to the detriment of social harmony and cohesion? Must it be understood then that the intolerant has the right to infringe on the liberal's way of life while the liberal has no right to speak out against it? Is this not what freedom of speech with reasonable restrictions has been reduced to in this country and elsewhere, a trend that is catching on even in America and Europe, for the Muslims are simply unable to take in any criticism of their religious beliefs and practices even though they can blissfully keep on criticising other faiths, and publicly so, and with sanctified scriptural sanction?

@Debaprasad Bhattacharya : No, no, I did not misunderstand you at all. I merely used my rejoinder to awaken others to this dangerous trend of Islamic expansionism in our country, knowing full well how conscientiously you are doing the same in your own capacity. We are as yet 'two men in a boat' and I only pray that a third may join us soon to complete the threesome where we may duly sail in to enter common consciousness in line with Jerome K. Jerome's classic 'comedy' 'Three Men in a Boat'. The humour there is in innocent and sharp contrast to its darker sibling here where tragedy looms large in the face of our motherland, betrayed by her own sons and daughters into alien hands yet again despite the unseemly experience of 1357 years till date, beginning with the first attack of Sindh in 664 CE by the Arabs whose intermediate consequence has been the dismemberment of our motherland in 1947 and whose worst outcome is now being worked out by dastardly hands intent on breaking the motherland into several parts yet again.

@Debaprasad Bhattacharya : Yes, you are right if we see the larger picture accurately. I was only talking about the CPI(M) and the TMC's involvement in this project directly after assuming power.

@All Hindus : Everybody must see this video and come to conclusions about the intent of the Chief Minister. The facts are plain and clear. If people still do not see the light, one can only echo what Swami Vivekananda had in another context once said, ''Now, my brothers, if you do not see the hand, the finger of Providence, it is because you are blind, born blind indeed.''

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sqhu83kVz7U
Look at the level of sinking of the Chief Minister for electoral gains, her dangerous policy of open appeasement of the Muslim clerics for political purposes even if she is bound by the Constitution to not go in for such preferential treatment of a single community, and the results are there for all to see. But wonder of wonders is this that despite all this, my Muslim friend asks me as to what sort of appeasement of the Muslims is going on in West Bengal. For him and others like him may be forwarded this essay by Janet Levy.

BREAK FREE OF ALL THESE TRADITIONAL TRAPPINGS OF RELIGION AND ANNOUNCE YOUR SOVERIGN SELF ... 1

BREAK FREE OF ALL THESE TRADITIONAL TRAPPINGS OF RELIGION AND ANNOUNCE YOUR SOVERIGN SELF ... 1

Refuse to believe in heaven and hell even if they supposedly exist as per scriptural affirmation. If heaven and hell exist, so does this earth exist and infinitely more besides. Hence, live this life to the fullest which ought to include even renouncing its pleasures, if it be so deemed, to get an insight into reality and realise it in essence. Let no scripture curb your inherent freedom to live and to not die foolishly to suit heavenly exigencies. Above all, stop fearing God or prophet, scripture or religious sanction and lend your mind and body to improving the intellectual and the social condition of man, long subjugated by the tyranny of clerics and the clergy, priest and priest-craft, church and state. Declare the sovereignty of your soul and break free from traditional trappings that bind you down to animal living, to sensory slavery and to bondage to an imaginary omnipotent who has ruled long enough for his term to be over at last. Let out the clarion call, "I am free. Who dares chain me anymore?"

IN RESPONSE TO THOSE WHO CRITICISE ANY DISCUSSSION WHATSOEVER ON NETAJI'S' ALLEGED MARRIAGE AND PROGENY THEREOF, CITING THEM AS PRIVATE AND PERSONAL AFFAIR TO BE NOT DABBLED WITH OUT OF FUNDAMENTAL CIVILITY AND SHOW OF REVERENCE TO THE GREAT LEADER

No, this issue of Netaji's alleged marriage and progeny thereof needs public discussion as to its veracity or otherwise. You can very well see from the result of the poll that the polity is completely divided on this issue with more people debunking the marriage as myth than otherwise. As there is not a shred of evidence to substantiate the marriage, it stands to good reason for ardent followers of Netaji to opine on this issue to safeguard Netaji's pristine pure character from such sullying effect.
If Netaji were truly married, would there not be some such evidence as would testify to the event? Netaji himself never publicly said that he was married. Can you tell me why on earth Netaji never left behind any proof of this sacred act of holy conjugal union? Are we to suppose that he had lost character in Nazi Germany after having lived a life of continuous continence till late in his life? Was he such an irresponsible human being that he would have emotionally and in conjugal terms involved a lady in his dangerous life of fighting for freedom along the razor's edge, so to say, with Nazi German help and, so, effectively laid open the doors for the sabotage of his entire programme should the Allies have somehow scented the alliance in advance and elicited information from Emilie Schenkl or tortured her to get hold of him? Was Netaji a licentious and irresponsible person as to have allowed himself such a misadventure of sorts? Your opinion is emotional and a puerile one at that, based on momentary response to this contentious issue which has maligned Netaji forever and, therefore, this controversial matter needs discussion so that growing public pressure forces the truth to come out into the open.
Netaji researchers, a host of them, are convinced that this was a perfidious plot hatched to downgrade Netaji in the eyes of Indians and the world at large by making him seem more mortal than he was by bestowing on him marriage and paternity and, so, reducing his spiritual stature to comparable terms with those of his Congress colleagues. If Netaji's reputation were thus not tampered with, he would immediately have scaled Himalayan heights in the estimation of his countrymen and soared beyond manageable proportions for the enemies of the nation to profit by. Netaji's spiritual stature would have outshone Gandhiji's and created a lot of narrative problems for the British and the then Congress of Nehru-Patel-Gandhi etc.

P.S. : @Munshi Abdus Shalek Reza : Do not misquote Krishna. The number, 16000, you have quoted refers to his divine beloveds in the Gopis and not to his wives. Secondly, you have no conception whatsoever of Rasaleela where his divine dalliances have gained fruition. To thus posit Krishna against Netaji is to be puerile, to say the least. Your idea of attaining spiritual perfection is, perhaps, that of doing so despite multiple marriages and unnumbered wives but continence classical as enjoined upon by our scriptures deems it to be otherwise. In these days of mass journalism it is easy to utter whatever gibberish comes quick to the tongue without a forethought or an afterthought as to what the significance of such shallow utterance in real terms may be. I cannot waste more time than I have already done on you thus far and leave you to ponder the point of Netaji's celibate living for your prospective illumination. At any rate not everybody is privy to understanding the glory of brahmacharya and, perhaps, true to your self, you are one of them. God bless you with leading and light ! Study Swami Vivekananda who was Netaji's spiritual preceptor at a distance to have an insight into the workings of real spirituality which evidently you have no clue to which is why we are on a different page of apprehension and articulation thereof altogether.

@Subrata Sengupta : Please start reading up all pertinent literature on this matter, especially those written by Netaji researchers like Keshab Bhattacharya, Dr. Madhusudan Pal and Dr. Jayanta Choudhuri who have cited copious evidence to disprove the 'marriage-progeny theory' or else pointed out the flaws in the arguments you have put above or the evidence offered in favour of the 'marriage-progeny theory'. I cannot keep answering each and every person's query for years on end. After I have satisfied you or failed to do so, another person will ask the same question. Best is to read up all available matter in this regard to come to conclusions oneself. I have in the past written articles plentifully on this issue and, yet, there are fresh seekers of explanations regarding the same matter which is not humanly possible for me to attend as it is tiresome and tedious. As long as people are not genuinely interested in solving apparently intractable issues, none can quite offer satisfactory solutions in regard to such matters which lie under the dense cover of conspiracy and deceit. I am personally capable of giving you adequate answers to your questions but am desisting from doing so, knowing the futility of the exercise when people choose to believe in things in the absence of credible proofs.

POPULAR MISCONCEPTIONS ABOUT THE POET'S STANCE REGARDING THE PATRIOT

POPULAR MISCONCEPTIONS ABOUT THE POET'S STANCE REGARDING THE PATRIOT

When Rabindranath Tagore called Subhas Chandra Bose 'Deshnayak', he had meant that Bose was the undisputed leader of the Bengal Presidency in especial. The Poet categorically mentioned towards the end of his speech that he considered Gandhiji as the leader of the entire nation of Bharatvarsha. Yet, there is this popular misconception that Tagore had bypassed the Mahatma and called Bose the numero uno in leadership of the motherland in its entirety. We must be reasonable when we interpret the writings of these seminal greats.
Another misconception is about Tagore having hailed Bose as an Avatar, that is, a divine incarnation. But this, too, is entirely unfounded. Being a Brahmo, Tagore did not subscribe to the concept of Avatarvaad and has argued this point of the implausibility of the special incarnation of the infinite God in a human form in his writings. When Tagore mentioned Sri Krishna and his promise unto humanity of his descent in human form whenever there was a terrible spiritual imbalance of forces and had further stated that in Subhas Chandra India had found the fulfilment of such a prophecy in the then contemporary times, he was merely making a poetic allusion, a symbolic reference to the epic prophecy and its redeeming connotation rather than actually implying that Subhas Chandra Bose was the Avatar of the Age. I reiterate that Tagore did not subscribe to the spiritual principle of the Avatar. However, there are researchers who keep on making silly deductions from Tagore's words and make it out to seem as if Netaji was God incarnate like Sri Krishna or Sri Ramakrishna supposedly was. This is utterly fallacious logic and an out of the context interpretation of the Poet's words to suit one's fanciful imagination. Hardly does it befit the conscientious researcher to resort to such flawed reasoning by way of establishing his imaginary ideas that bear no resemblance to reality. Netaji does not require such artificial epithets from shallow thinkers to stand illumined as a lustrous leader of the Age.

AN ARGUMENT FLAWED AND FAILING

AN ARGUMENT FLAWED AND FAILING

Some researchers have raised the issue that this letter of Dr. Sisir Bose to Shrimati Indira Gandhi conclusively proves that he did not know the details of Netaji's secret escape to Berlin and, hence, he was not party to the escape from Calcutta to Gomoh. But that is a flawed argument. Here it especially refers to his ignorance of the details of the West Pakistan leg of the journey and not of the journey from Calcutta to Gomoh as has been implied by the doubting Thomases with their fallacious reasoning. It is important that we investigate without bias of any sort the mysteries surrounding Netaji. Only then may we arrive at credible conclusions instead of drawing fantastic inferences.

AN UNDESIRABLE MIXTURE

AN UNDESIRABLE MIXTURE

It is irritating to hear people speak a mixture of English and Hindi in television discussions. Phrases like 'Tu tu mein mein', 'Arey yaar, chhoro na', 'Raksha Mantri', 'Karyakartaa' have their corresponding English words which ought to be used to maintain chastity of language.
A queer admixture of tongues is the sure sign of cultural decadence and not that of linguistic evolution as may be foolishly argued. Television anchors are no more strict about the linguistic medium which their channels are supposed to be adhering to and frequently go into interspersing their dialogues with a smattering of Hindi and even Bengali sometimes. This is not what a puritan like me likes. Let men have mastery over their tongues and keep away from such flirtation with the vernaculars when they are speaking in English. Likewise, they ought to speak the vernaculars chaste and assiduously avoid interspersing them with English.
A final word. Study Sanskrit and rescue Hindi from its overload of Urdu words. What most people speak is hardly Sanskrit-based Hindi but is, rather, largely Urdu-based Hindi with a preponderance of Urdu words that have virtually obliterated Hindi as such.

AMERICA, AWAKE !

AMERICA, AWAKE !

For all its technological progress the United States of America is a society in rot. It is time for America to discover her spiritual roots in the Vedanta and build her character accordingly, for the ideals of the American people, that of the freedom of the human soul, are best expressed, enunciated and rationalised in the Vedanta. It is time for America to go to Vivekananda and discover what a gift he has left behind for them in their very land where he spent the seminal years of his life.

THE NATIONAL NEED ... 14

THE NATIONAL NEED ... 14

Why does India not raise the issue of China's occupation of Indian territory in Arunachal, Ladakh and Aksai Chin in the international fora? China should be exposed consistently as an aggressor and invader of the territory of other countries. The same goes for its occupation of Tibet where India ought to take a tougher stand. For all this India must consistently upgrade her defence forces. Playing meek is playing increasingly into China's hands which is our enemy number one now. Not that America and Britain have not undermined India's interests historically but realpolitik demands a strong alliance with USA to thwart China's evil territorial interests in regard to India. Most importantly, the population of India must be better trained militarily with compulsory NCC courses for all students and, if possible, opportunities for military training of a softer type at least so that the able-bodied are equipped to defend the country should the need arise.
Loads of things are to be done by way of strengthening the nation instead of mere dabbling in creating religious differences among the polity. Instead of cosmetic appeasement of the Muslims in India for electoral gains, the entire population must be educated with the best of resources made available for the purpose. The national health must be drastically improved, the environment cleaned up so that men may breathe fresh air and the economy rescued from the hands of crony capitalists so that distribution of wealth is assured on a fairer basis and wealth disparities significantly reduced among the citizenry.
Capitalism of a gluttonous type is eating into the vitals of the nation and this must immediately be looked into and checked. Politicians who are hand-in-glove with these roguish business barons must be voted out of power and a people's party elected with an equal threat hanging over their heads should they play foul with the people's interests as well.

THE DYNAMICS OF LIFE ... 1

THE DYNAMICS OF LIFE ... 1

If you are tamasic, there is hardly much hope for you to rise in life unless there is a radical transformation of your nature under whatever inspirational influence. The object of action is to alter the status of life and advance unto a higher order of existence. Rajas is, thus, an imperative of evolution and ceaseless, well-directed, conscious action the means to achieving it. Then will come sattva in the fullness of time when the seeds have germinated to fruition and the crops have been harvested. Meanwhile, there must be unbounded enthusiasm in action, in deeds divine, in the disciplined performance of duty so that the fate of the individual and the nation changes for the better.
Leaders of men, lustrous personalities with in-depth knowledge of life and existence come to show humanity the way. They teach through precept and practise what they preach. They bring in a mass of spiritual energy which they impregnate humanity with. They bring in fresh inspiration to jaded humanity so that it revolves around and about this divine focus which they witness in the prophetic figure come alive. The direct contact with him sparks off a chain reaction of evolving force which starts the transformation of first a select group of people, the disciples and the devotees of the sage and then the rolling effect carries on till vast masses of people are shaken out of their stupor unto living action of civilising self and society at large.
The problem, however, is that the human mind is conservative and the brain, though, pliable and prone to moulding, nonetheless, seeks to run along familiar tracks and refuses to change status. To make matters worse, the bulk circumstance already obtaining in society makes this transformation, otherwise possible with not too much difficulty, that much harder to achieve as archaic notions of outdated scriptures and the trappings of tradition resist tooth and nail every impulse to reformation and change. The baton of barbarism is handed down from generation to generation along familiar channels of indoctrination and humanity held hostage to impious prescriptions of prophets and messengers of God. Thus, education and the diffusion of information notwithstanding, human society refuses to change easily unto more enlightened ways of living and the molestation of the mass mind continues with impunity.
Added to this is the fundamental association of the mind with the body to the seeming oblivion at times that man is more than a body. This makes the seeking of pleasure the one objective of the vulgar mind and hordes are goaded by their base instincts to lead lives of piggish gluttony with the difference that the human being absorbs garbage gleefully with all his senses.
This sense of body is intrinsic to the material man for all practical purposes and drives him along sensory routes of satisfaction which keeps the inertia going. Transformation of nature is, thus, difficult. But evolution demands transformation, either through slow adaptation or rapid, revolutionary adjustment of forces. In the animal world this evolutionary change takes places over hundreds of thousands of years, perhaps, millions, but in the human world education and cultural training can make for rapid changes. The human mind being immensely pliable, this rapid change is possible. The neurons are to connected along newer channels, new pathways created in the brain for the flow of fresh ideas and new combinations are to be sought in the grey matter for deeper ideas to grip the mind. Thus, education is the key to this regeneration of the terrestrial man and his resurrection from a dusty death in 'the desert sand of dead habit' (quotation from Tagore).

AT THE CROSSROADS OF CIVILISATION ... 1

AT THE CROSSROADS OF CIVILISATION ... 1

There is a need for peace and let us have it while yet there is time to repair and restore sanity of things. War will ravage civilisation and render men insane. The clash of cultures, the fight for supremacy and expansion of territorial and ideological influence must give way to mutual acceptance in line with the Vedanta. So, study the Upanishads and Swami Vivekananda to get a clearer understanding of life's broader imperatives, higher objectives beyond the gaining of Paradise and the casting of infidels into hell-fire, and deeper impulses unto the experiencing of your own divinity as the Vedanta in trumpet voice promises. The Shvetashwatar Upanishad declares the divinity of all sentient beings and exhorts you to advance unto the realisation of this cherished end. This is the goal of evolution, the depth-understanding of unity, the spiritual and intellectual perception of the integration of all life and the practical application of such unifying principles in terrestrial life to promote the manifestation of the Spirit through the dense cover of Matter. Hence, awake to this divine duty of saving civilisation.

AT THE BREAK OF DAWN

AT THE BREAK OF DAWN

So much I wish to say, so meagre the means to do so, so scant the occasion that allows. Just let this suffice at this blessed hour, at this hallowed moment of reliving our attainment of sovereignty at what a terrible price in blood, sweat and toil, torment, torture, starvation, impoverishment, death from bayonet and bullet and from the mouth of the firing cannon, and, above all, in dastardly dismemberment of our motherland, just let this much say it all, "My countrymen, I love you !"

HAPPY REPUBLIC DAY !

HAPPY REPUBLIC DAY !

A very happy Republic Day to all my countrymen at home and abroad ! But a question haunts me. Must we continue to be a member of the British Commonwealth of Nations when we pride ourselves as being a sovereign republic? Is it not demeaning to our status as a free country who the British despoiled of its wealth for several centuries which today forms the basis of its vaunted Commonwealth? Whose wealth is it after all that funds this erstwhile colonising country? Has Britain nothing to answer for all its misdeeds? Must we further capitulate before its neo-colonising influence and sell dignity and honour to join the rank of dependents, dominions and subject nations that must necessarily pay their subservient respects to the British sovereign, Her Majesty the Queen of England? Is there no shame in doing so? Have we won our independence, square and full, or have we still the colonial hangover which makes us mentally enslaved to our erstwhile masters? Why must our President show special respects to the Queen of England as if she is a superior being deserving so? The British Queen does not reciprocate to that effect with our President. Then why must he?
Now on a more serious note. It is rumoured that the Transfer of Power Treaty that granted us dominion status on 15 August, 1947 and, subsequently, supposedly not stood in the way of our being fully independent as a sovereign republic from 26 January, 1950 with the promulgation of the Constitution of India, actually contains specific features which have kept us legally bound as a dominion of Great Britain. This it is said on the basis of the fact that the Indian Independence Act which was passed in the British legislature legally made India a dominion of Britain on 15 August, 1947. The subsequent declaration of India as a sovereign republic was a unilateral legal measure adopted by India which was not corroborated by corresponding legislation in Great Britain. Hence, in the eyes of international law India continues to be dominion of Britain. Now, what is the truth about this murky matter, I would like to know from Constitutional experts on this auspicious day when we are celebrating the 72nd Republic Day. Are we fully independent as a nation or are we still the subjects of Her Majesty the Queen of England?

SHOW NOT A CANDLE TO THE SUN

SHOW NOT A CANDLE TO THE SUN

Whatever may be said, India still does not give due respect to Netaji. And this mainly comes from the intelligentsia, I should say. To call Netaji a legendary freedom fighter on a renowned television channel in all good intent even is to sell him short. One never uses such epithets to describe Gandhiji or Pandit Nehru. Is not Netaji a name that is beyond such definitions? Or, is he being introduced to the nation afresh, as if Indians do not know him to be who he is and what he was?
The people know Netaji better than what these mockery of media moderators know him to be or even care to know. We do not say thus, "Oh, the golden sun has risen in the east !" Do we? Then why this stupid introduction of Netaji to the nation? Just say 'Netaji' like you say 'Mahatma Gandhi' or 'Pandit Nehru', and no more. Such understatement will be appropriate in its very brevity, for the very name 'Netaji' is self-expressive and does not need a modern moderator to mediate on its behalf and hold it aloft.
In defining Netaji you limit him ; in attaching unnecessary introductory epithets you patronise him. The sun is self-luminous and needs no candle to make it visible. So does Netaji. Just remove the cover from your eyes and look out. You will see Netaji shining like the broad daylight, pulsating in every cell of national life.
India is vibrating with Netaji. Now, O intelligentsia, it is time for you to vibrate to Netaji as well, high time, indeed !

FACEBOOK NEW MESSAGES AND TWEETS ... 25

FACEBOOK NEW MESSAGES AND TWEETS ... 25

1. There goes the blaring loudspeaker calling the faithful to prayer. For us, faithless ones, has been given the gift of the loud, unmusical sound that routinely disturbs concentration in work.

2. When you anchor a YouTube interaction with an eminent Netaji researcher of stupendous knowledge, do not waste too much time in ceaseless introduction. Get to the business straightaway. Otherwise, people will get bored and leave your show at its very outset and that will be counterproductive.

3. A little courage, a little valour, a trifle more of manliness and strength of character -- let these be the attributes that we shall offer at the altar of the motherland on this our 72nd Republic Day. No more effeminacy, please. Manhood -- exhibit it, feel it in your sinews and nerves, in your steely resolve and action thereof.

4. Pakistan has forgotten her Hindu identity and the sooner she remembers it and returns, a penitent child of Mother India, to Mother India's arms, the better for her. The same applies for Bangladesh and her flawed sense of separation from India. India must inevitably be whole again.

5. A country that is ashamed of its spiritual heritage can never rise. It is time to reaffirm our glorious past en route to an even more glorious future. But the central theme must be the affirmation of the dignity of man, the spiritual entity within the finite frame of his terrestrial form.

6. What a shame that there aren't Indian scholars to inform Neil dsGrasse Tyson that the numerals the Arabs used were Hindu numerals learnt from the Hindus and adapted to Arabic use and not Arabic numerals as such ! Alas, when will India awake to her heritage?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tJJLvoDg2_E

7. Please do not pronounce 'Programme' as 'Pograam' or 'Pradhan Mantri' as 'Podhan Mantri', 'Akriti' as 'Akruti', 'Prakriti' as 'Prakruti' or 'Jagrati' as 'Jagruti'. Finally, it is 'Corona' and not 'Cawrona'. Rectify this very moment.

8. The enlightened among the Muslims who were converts from Hinduism will return to the Sanatan Dharma in due course.

9. The Sanatan Dharma alone among religions gives freedom of choice for its adherents. The rest are all constricting and constraining, curbing human freedom, sacrificing the human spirit at the altar of an exacting God.

10. Apologists of a particular intolerant religion are terrible liars. They always deflect and distort the truth about their religion, hiding facts in public while breathing brimstone on religious adversaries in private among their closed community. What can be more irreligious than this sort of pretension and falsification of truth?

11. Most of the Hindus I come across do not meditate or chant or even read the scriptures. This is dangerous for the security of Hinduism as ignorance weakens the body politic and allows for perversion of all kinds including that of easy conversion to Islam or Christianity on account of pressure or inducement.

12. Shed cowardice, my friends, and come out into the open and defend the Sanatan Dharma from the attacks of adversaries. Then alone shall I call you followers of Swami Vivekananda. Otherwise, it is mere lip service.

13. To destroy Nazi Germany (WW II), the Allies helped build Communist Soviet Union. To defeat and dismantle the Soviet Union (Cold War), the USA helped build Communist China. Now to defeat China, will the West resort to WW III ?

14. Every country has its declared national narrative except India, and when she comes to the point of adopting one on the basis of her age-old heritage, there is so much hue and cry over her intended national ideological stand. Strange are the ways of the modern Indian !

15. Manliness is the message of the Geeta, to fight and not to cower before the enemy of civilisation. In this Arjun was initially failing and Krishna redirected his course along the righteous way. Thus truth and virtue triumphed over deceit and vice, and dharma was re-established in Aryavarta.

16. The Hindu mind is fascinated by the image. But it was not always so. There was a time when we valued the idea more. The present culture is an aberration of that of earlier times.

17. Do not be brainwashed by your religion. That will be the end of humanity in you. Reject all negative impulses coming from religion.

18. I merely write to quicken consciousness, to make people more aware about the dangers that lie ahead and the problems of the day with roots deep in history that need as yet robust tackling to root them out of the way of progress.

19. It is wrong of the West Bengal Government to allow loudspeakers to blare away five times a day to call Muslims to prayer. It is highly distracting for many as it disrupts concentration in work and disturbs sleep in the wee hours of the day.

20. Why is it that such a jewel as Taslima Nasreen is not allowed entry into West Bengal? Which section of society is being appeased thus and why?

21. There goes the loudspeaker blaring again and I am being called to pray once more. But what if I do not like this loud distracting sound? Do I have the right to be spared this ordeal five times a day? How would Swami Nirmalananda, forthright as he was, react to this daily distraction, bordering on a torment of sorts?

22. Our country cannot rise if literate people are so ignorant. This giving 'like' to posts without reading them and after only appreciating the appended photographs, and this silly habit of shallow commenting indicate that intellectual culture of any merit is as yet far away from the polity that inhabits this motherland of ours. Total unconcern for intellectual culture seems to be our preferred way.

23. I am the life and the light, the vital breath, the nerve current, the wisdom brewing and the enlightenment. I am the witness, the seer, the eternal presence behind this panoramic phenomena, and I am participant in it as well.

24. E.F Oaten's poem on Subhas
--------------------------------
Did I once suffer, Subhas, at your hands?
Your patriot heart is stilled, I would forget!
Let me recall but this, that while as yet
The Raj that you once challenged in your land
Was mighty; Icarus-like your courage planned
To mount the skies, and storm in battle set
The ramparts of High Heaven, to claim the debt
Of freedom owed, on plain and rude demand.
High Heaven yielded, but in dignity
Like Icarus, you sped towards the sea.

Well, Dr. Jayanta Choudhuri says that Oaten had not held Subhas Chandra Bose responsible for his having been manhandled by a group of students belonging to Presidency College and cites the poem written by the Professor by way of evidence for his argument but it seems that the very poem in its very first line indicts Subhas for the very act. How would Dr. Choudhuri defend his statement?

25. May the PM grant 125 crore rupees for the propagation of the Prabuddha Bharat throughout the world ! Mere message and talk will not do.

26. Why Bangladesh's fate is important for West Bengal? Because it is the fate awaiting West Bengal at no distant a date. Bangladesh has been Islamised. Now West Bengal is being Islamised fast as well, and with governmental help.

27. Would you fight Nazism or would you say that we are secular liberals who ought to be tolerant to the intolerant?

28. Hindus are being wiped out in Bangladesh and Pakistan. And here in West Bengal? What is the scene here and what is in the offing?

29. What is the point in saying 'Pranam Swamiji' if you are to remain silent cowards in the face of proselytising adversity? Would Swamiji have wished for a band of cowards following him? Are we 'conversion cowards' or are we 'conversation cowards' as well?

30. If there a hell, I know who all are going there. The ones that threaten us with hell-fire have their reservations already made for a semi-permanent residence there.

31. Take the full responsibility upon yourself and never quake in fear. That is manhood and that is the way of the free.

32. Patriarchy reigns everywhere. The world can never rise unless it ends. Women must be freed from their bondage to men. Only then may they be full participants in the democratic process that life is. Any divine injunction to the contrary must be rejected.

33. We, as a nation, are 1.38 billion strong and must produce 1.38 million PhDs to begin with, that is, 1 PhD out of 1000 Indians. Then we will emerge as a super-strong nation.

34. Each and every Hindu must read the Qur'an, the Hadith, the Seerah and the Sharia.

35. Let Hindus not suffer too much from a sense of arrogant self-complacency about the sanctified security of their spiritual state and civilisation without bothering to even find out where their cultural adversaries aim their arsenal to bring them down.

36. Our society is so constricting. Women hardly have the right for self-determination in the bulk of India and we indulge in tall talk on spirituality which in our Sanatan culture speaks of God as having been manifested as both man and woman.

37. There goes the blaring loudspeaker sending Friday Islamic sermons which I, a Hindu, must perforce hear. Is this secular India or Islamic Pakistan or Islamised Bangladesh? Is West Bengal not being Islamised?

38. O self-oblivious Hindu, your doom shall be sealed by your own hands unless you wake up to the death knell being sounded to mark your cultural demise. Sleep now if you wish in advance to prepare for the eternal sleep that lies in wait for you, and your rest shall be sanctioned with sacrificial sanctity.

39. Prayer taking precedence over studies to secure passage to heaven and to avoid hell. Predicament of the little boy and the little girl. How will progress en masse ever be?

40. To feel pain is the sign of attachment. The detached never feel personal pain but may still feel the collective pain of suffering humanity.

41. The great man approximates through his sadhana his inner perfection and becomes divine in every sense, even of the body which is rendered into becoming the recipient of divine flow, up and down Jacob's ladder.

42. Love effortlessly overcomes the resistance offered by ignorance. But the force of that love must be overwhelming.

43. Oh, how men are afraid of a tyrant God because He has supposedly the power to punish ! Is this the way to relate to God? This is hypnosis, the most horrendous heresy against the dignity of Man, the greatest blasphemy against his essential divinity.

44. Life is ceaseless work, so much so that men cannot spare a moment to talk and cheer each other. What a burdensome existence is this that makes work a load and life a constant labour, a duty under duress !

50. If scripture sanctions violence, what can poor adherents do? They are by commandment enjoined to kill despite interpretative apologies offered in defence of context to safeguard the scripture from legitimate adversarial offensive. Modernity demands relegation of archaic and outdated scriptural directives into the waste-bin of history.

51. Nobody should sleep anymore. The loudspeaker was loud enough for all to hear that they were being called to pray. Hence, off to prayer, chums ! Jai West Bengal? No, no. Jai what then? I wonder ! Time for a name change? What do you say?

52. Love should spring like strength in your hearts and never as a weakness.

53. Civilisation is the evolution of the divine man from his animal origins.

54. I wonder why the azaan is being given over the microphone and the loudspeaker right now. After all these are man's creation and not God's. The announcers who call us to pray in the name of God should only use God's direct creations to do so. That alone can glorify God.

55. Misha, study systematically and regularly, and not because examination beckons you to do so but as a matter of academic love and the requirement for character formation, the sine qua non for future citizenship of the world. The ignorant wallow in the mire of material life. The learned alone see the light, the wise are ushered into the inner chambers where Nature holds her secrets.

56. We cannot compete with the rest of the world as a nation if we are so fond of photographs and images and idols and leave theory and principle out of the ambit of our attention. Sad indeed that such a traditionally intellectual country like India has today sunk to this abysmally impoverished intellectual state.

57. Mumbo jumbo in the name of the Sanatan Dharma by self-styled Sadgurus must stop. It is detrimental to the cause of our progress as a nation. Do not believe in these fake Gurus who are simply minting millions in the name of nonsense going by the name of religion. Believe in yourselves instead.

58. To support the cause of the Sanatan Dharma is as much to cleanse it of fake Gurus as to fight off the offensive advances of proselytising Semitic religions. Do not maintain your silence over these crooks who pass off as spiritual guides under tacit official approval, not to mention the acceptance by gullible fools who are legion.

59. Too much of government in people's lives, any amount of party intervention in the same is not what the electorate will take in good spirit. Freedom is the fundamental call of the human species and people are no more prone to dictates as dictators themselves are. So, ministers, be mindful.

60. Acquisition of wealth is one and its worship another. This western adoration of the dollar is abominable and there are so many Indian adherents of it.

61. Doctors must learn to be more articulate, more communicative with their patients and those who are their care-givers. This is vital to the process of recovery and the secure well-being of the patients.

62. What rubbish is this that woman (Eve) was created out of the bone of man (Adam) by God and, hence, woman must be subservient to man ! Is this scriptural truth or arrant nonsense? And is this what Bangladeshis are being fed by Islamic clerics galore? Whither is Bangladesh headed?

63. As my messages make their mark, my twitter following decreases. Clearly, this is indication of the success of my communication as quality replaces quantity and a core following develops who shall carry the message forward.

64. Watch at 44 min onwards how suddenly Chandrachur Ghosh starts biting his nails when Dr.Jayanta Choudhuri attacks the Emilie-Anita 'connection' with Netaji. Was this nervousness as psychologists say the biting of nails in times of pressure indicates? Remember that 'Mission Netaji', whose founder member Chandrachur Ghosh is, categorically states that Emile Schenkl was the wife of Netaji and Anita Brigette Pfaff his daughter.

65. Federalism has its advantages in checking centralised autocracy but suffers from the major defect of checking national progress as well in the name of provincialism. This latter feature is the case of West Bengal. Also, minority appeasement will have to pay its price for nothing comes free in a market economy.

66. One of the ways of reducing poverty-related needs of people is for rich people to curtail their luxurious expenses and serve the needy with the saved amount.

67. It is well to be charitable but better by far if one feels along with it an intense sympathy for the suffering of the ones one attends to by way of such charity.

68. It is best to reject a God who sends believers to heaven and non-believers to hell, for, after all, such a God simply is a figment of imagination bred in fear and no more. Will you bow down to a 'Creator' who you have yourself created? Better by far will be if roles are reversed from now on and such a fictitious God starts bowing down to Man.

69. As man becomes civilised the world over, proselytising religions will run for cover before they perish after putting up a last ditch fight for survival. But their day is come and the swansong is sounding that will herald them to oblivion.

70. Bangladesh will take to Hinduism in a massive way is my prophecy about her impending fate. Pakistan will follow suit thereafter. The whole of the Indian subcontinent will be adherents of the Sanatan Dharma in the fullness of time. Hinduism will triumph in the long run in bringing back its errant children to her fold.

71. Do not worry. There will no 'Day of Judgement' ever to befall you. These are archaic assertions of superstitious people of a bygone era that still have their hold on the ignorant but which the enlightened have since long rejected as arrant nonsense.

72. The God who you fear does not exist but the God which you are in essence ever exists. Know yourself in depth to be God.

73. Reject God for He does not exist. But, tell me, can you reject yourself? Know yourself to be God which you will realise when you pass into samadhi (the super-conscious state).

74. It is dangerous to believe in an omnipotent God who can punish at will for our misdeeds. This sort of judgement passed from a heavenly High Court is a terrible threat to human sanity and safety, and the sooner we can get rid of this God, the better.

75. How is it that the Government of India tolerates fatwahs issued by Muslim clerics to intimidate progressive voices like Taslima Nasreen who take on the regressive forces within the community by the horns? Why tolerate the intolerant?

76. The Indian television and digital media must not give so much prominence to Islamic Imams anymore. They must allow ordinary Muslims to lend their voices more. Only then will it be possible to understand the extent of the tyranny they suffer at the hands of these clerics.

77. If you see superstition in religion, reject it at once. Be rational, be scientific, be progressive. Do not accept anything without evidence substantiating it even if scripture declares it to be sacrosanct and indisputably inviolable. Let reason be the guide unto enlightenment rather than blind faith dictate terms unto ignorance.

78. Hindus, be proud of your heritage. Unto you has been given the greatest civilisation as inheritance and it is for you to grow both materially and spiritually to be empowered enough to preserve it. Remember this much that upon the life of the Sanatan Dharma depends the life of the world.

79. Hindus, awake ! Read the Qu'ran and get to know the real Islam. Do not be deluded by liberal Hindu ideas about Islam. Read and recognise it as it truly is.

80. Our country has been colonised by alien culture for far too long. It is time we recover our roots.

81. Is there another country on earth whose citizens are so ashamed to own up their heritage and culture as the educated Hindu does?

82. It is good to befriend the enemy but only when the enemy will spare you life enough to do so. If, on the contrary, he destroys your identity by converting you? Well, you are now fraternal souls, conversion comrades in the same business of perverting others from their cherished culture and religion !

83. Any fascist way of life and thinking must be done away with in a civilised modern world even if it stems from 'divine' revelation. If such a way still persists, it is a pointer to the fact that humanity is still living in barbarous times.

84. If kuffars (infidels in the eyes of Islam) were only to be punished in hell after death, there would be no problem for them. But the problem is that, as per Islamic doctrine, they are to be subjugated here on earth itself before they are made to suffer hell-fire after death. Hence, all the conflict.

85. Why is Bangladesh sliding into increasing Islamism?

86. Persecution of Hindus in Bangladesh. Thank God my grandfather left East Pakistan on 14 August, 1947 for India and my grandmother refused to be persuaded by Leela Roy to stay on in East Pakistan. Otherwise, we would be facing this persecution from Islamists who fill this benighted nation.

87. Appeasement will never work. The more you yield to fanatics, the more they will demand. Finally, Hindus will have to migrate to other lands. One wonders how long it will take West Bengal to become as bad as Bangladesh in this regard. And here there is aggressive appeasement going on openly, flouting all sense of civility and propriety.

88. Bengalis boys must play football instead of indulging too much in song and dance and poetry and art. A generation of engagement in such vigorous activity will make men out of these effeminates who are flocking the polity of Bengal. And Bengali girls must also take to exhibiting a like sterling womanhood.

89. Keep raising this issue then in a daily post till it gains ground and calls in significant changes in the desired direction.

90. Let devotion show in the posting of some good essays on the Presidents of the Order and not merely in that of the same old photographs over and over again. We ought not to be so intellectually bankrupt in our exhibited devotion.

91. Writing should neither be verbose nor the insincere assemblage of words nor the consistent presentation of quotes that through overuse have become stale and sterile. Creative sincerity touches where words are spelled out from the depth of feeling and not merely to impress readers with high-flown usage. This is what is meant by simplicity of style.

92. The Prime Minister should never abruptly end his speech. He should do it with grace and slow courtesy rather than with brusque haste as is his wont to doing.

93. Not only are many of our men vile to our women but many of our women are equally vile to our men. We are so often so vile to each other with hardly much civility to adorn our behaviour that we have brought upon ourselves a despicable social discourse whose rotten output we happen to see in the public life of our politicians. We are civilised, indeed !

94. As our Prime Minister and Chief Minister keep rejoicing boastfully about their achievements over the past years, our academic standard continues to plummet and each succeeding generation keeps producing a greater number of less than truly educated citizens, and culture in consequence reaches its nadir.

95. Conversion is pure politics and a religion that converts is essentially a political movement. Spirituality is far removed from it.

96. I despair to see the intellectual impoverishment of my countrymen. My sustained effort at quickening their consciousness unto robust thinking seems like the attempt to freshen up the desert for future harvest. The response to my posts is abysmally low and qualitatively poor.

97. Study, educate yourself well, earn well, live well, give well.

98. The ego is the frontal cover of God. It is the mask God wears to combat cosmic corona and when the vaccination is complete, He sheds it to reveal Himself.

99. We are building a bridge of corpses over which future humanity will walk.

100. Beauty is the natural outflow of restraint.
