Inspiration is a vital ingredient in the achiever's mental make-up. Where it comes from without, it is unstable and often not enduring but where it comes from within, from the recesses of one's being, it is secure and stable and lasting in its benedictory influence. Such is the saint's secret source of spiritual replenishment amid the myriad mundane compulsions that life imposes even on the renunciate of cipher belonging. It is this inspiration that carries him along the path of spiritual beatitude and social service with a divine current. The rest of deluded humanity, seeking the ephemeral pleasures of the senses, are denied this inner reservoir of the river of God and are kept in the perpetual pursuit of sensory dreams, being swayed by their fanciful clinging to this or that human face or any other aspect of fleeting material beauty which sooner of later degenerate and meet with that eventual outcome called death.
