PRIMROSE PROMISES, PUERILE AND POLITICAL, WITH FALSITY ABOUNDING AND HONESTY ABSENT

PRIMROSE PROMISES, PUERILE AND POLITICAL, WITH FALSITY ABOUNDING AND HONESTY ABSENT

The administration should work more and boast less. Efficiency declining all around, how can the ruling dispensation be so insincere about its intent of becoming a developed nation by 2047? Does GDP alone constitute the developmental index? What about per capita GDP? What about declining culture, growing greed and abounding corruption, leave aside environmental destruction with an ever-increasing population? What about the terrible decline in academic and intellectual standards?

Journalism has reached its chaotic nadir with daily shouting matches our sole solace of national absence in the Football World Cup.

How can the Prime Minister be so puerile or perhaps deliberately political as to make such false promises of a developed India by 2047? Sloganeering is not abiding by truth. The hindrances in real are not so easily overcome as tall claims in public addresses are possible to make. It would take greater character to even acknowledge the obstacles in the way, far more the energy and enterprise to overcome them.

'Viksit Bharat' is a good slogan like all failed slogans of the past like 'Garibi Hatao' and 'India Shining', and it will miserably fail as well for it is merely a slogan and no more. No concrete steps are being taken on the population count or the environmental count which ought to feature topmost in today's world anywhere. With Delhi choking every year and crony capitalism flourishing in the country, with insincere celebrities whiling away their retirement hour in easy advertisement of products to earn the cheap copper coin--- albeit in equivalent currency in millions---activities designed to induce the populace into conditioned purchase of products while degrading their minds by subjecting them to viewing farcical behaviour of the actors thereon, with income disparity growing by the hour splitting society vertical along Marxian class lines, with westernisation at its lowest imitated level proliferating like virus across the body politic of the nation, with ill-educated Ministers donning the highest administrative positions in the country and determining her fate, with all these and much more, my countrymen, do you really believe we will achieve the 'Developed India' state by 2047? Not I for sure. Not till the academic institutions are rendered politics-free and transformed to research facilities of the highest international standards.
