The dignity with which Messi carries himself, the humility, the repose, the calmness and resignation to the Lord in adversity is an object lesson not only for sportspersons in particular but for humanity at large. These indeed are the beacons of light in this dark dungeon we have devil-like made the world, the shinimg stars in the night of cosmic travel, the perennial source of bliss in a life vitiated by conflict and chaos. Farewell, great one, to this highest stage of the beautiful game, for one can only hope against hope that you will return one more time at age 43 to light up our hearts!
