WHAT WE ARE FAILING TO DO BUT WHAT WE MOST CERTAINLY MUST DO

WHAT WE ARE FAILING TO DO BUT WHAT WE MOST CERTAINLY MUST DO

We need to tighten up our country which effectively means that we as a polity must pull up our socks and unselfishly exert ourselves to serve the nation irrespective of monetary considerations constraining our welfare action. Greed must be weeded out and we must not induce people to donate money for our endeavours but our character must be such that people voluntarily give their bit without being told to do so. If we lack in funds we must work within the budget and efficiently so. Upon such efficient service the nation's welfare will be well catered to and, as said above, the citizenry tightened at a higher humanistic tension whereby the nation functions smoothly and fulfils its spiritual objective. From work to leisure, from attire to attitude, from nutrition to health, from science to the fine arts, from music to dance, from culture to commerce -- in every sphere of human activity we must strive for excellence. Sacrifice and service must be the watchwords. Swamiji has laid out before us our national ideals which nobody follows today but which we must strive in all honest endeavour to follow from now on. He had said, "Renunciation and service are the twin national ideals. Intensify her in those channels and the rest will take care of itself." So, there we have the goal set before us. Now let us kick in with our efforts.
