HOW LONG MUST SWAMIJI WAIT?

There are passages in 'The Complete Works of Swami Vivekananda' which foreshadow the political events to follow and validate and invalidate both Gandhiji and Netaji in terms of policies adopted by them. Swamiji's works are a complex web of ideas which may be understood today better on hindsight and had inspired our leaders differently as per their predilection of personality and the circumstantial demands made on them. Each read into Swamiji his own interpretation and acted in accordance. Where they followed him well, they came out triumphant and the nation benefited. But where they rejected his ideas and pursued temporary goals as per their understanding, the country suffered. Even today we are suffering as a people for not activating Swamiji's ideas well enough. The result is all-round degradation in the polity and a degeneration of the character of the people, especially of those who author and control the affairs of the state.
