🕉 PICTURE IMPERFECT

It is the picture that holds. Ideas fail to grip the common run of humanity. The Buddhists duly introduced idolatry among the masses, sensing its general appeal.

The representative image is more real to inebriated humanity than the reality it represents which is beyond name and form, the concrete gaining access to human attention than subtle ideas which form the fabric of philosophy and science. Technology, that is applied science, outstrips theoretical science even as gadgets and tools of entertainment outmatch ideas in popular subscription. 

But this is not the sign of the rise of culture. It is the sure sign of its decay. It portends the decline of civilisation. Shallowness seems to be the pervasive feature of society. Academic standards are plummeting. Mob culture is rising. Overall a dismal scene. It is a wasteful endeavour to write when readers are so impervious to intellectual ideas. 🕉
