WILL DURANT ON MOHAMMEDAN CONQUEST

Will Durant: 'The Mohammedan conquest of India is probably the bloodiest story in history. It is a discouraging tale, for its evident moral is that civilization is a precarious thing, whose delicate complex of order and liberty, culture and peace may at any time be overthrown by barbarians invading from without or multiplying within.'

Note by Sugata Bose: This is not merely the past history of India but is the looming future as well unless collective resistance against it is built up to thwart its fulfilment. The Sanatan Dharma and its corollary in religiosocial culture are being threatened by inimical ideology once more today with rapid demographic change, easy illegal immigration and unhindered proselytisation altering prospects of pluralistic peaceful coexistence. Moreover, with Islam proclaiming itself as the only true faith and way of living [Deen], and declaring all others as flawed and false, whose adherents must perforce be converted to its creed, such peaceful coexistence is the fantasy of the fool and a never-to-be attained social reality, especially after Muslims through multifarious means have succeeded in attaining majority status in the polity. 🕉
