This video should be widely circulated for the sleeping mass of Hindus to awake. Swami Satyarupananda was one of those rare Ramakrishna monks who embodied the multiple virtues of purity, strength, manhood, courage of conviction, oratory and patriotism, all of which may be encapsulated in that one word which came out mantra-like from Swami Vivekananda's lips---character. I was fortunate to have met him one afternoon in Belur Math when he was in solitary seat at the Book Stall by the window-sill and he graciously spoke a few words of tremendous power that resonate in my soul even today. The time was perhaps in the late 1990s, I think 1999, when I met this venerable sage who said to me, "আমরা রামকৃষ্ণ মিশনের সাধুরা আর কি করি ? সারা দিনরাত মনে মনে বলি, 'সমস্ত বিশ্বের কল্যাণ হ'ক !' " ["What else do we, Ramakrishna monks, do other than this? Whole day and night we mentally say, 'May good come to the entire world !' "] Maharaj said these words with such fervour, such intensity, while bearing a far-off look lost in some other sphere that I literally got the feeling that his thoughts were permeating the entire world. Such was Swami Satyarupananda who breathed monastic purity and with it breathed life into the people of our dear motherland.
