Such vintage batting the world has scarce seen which prompted such a connoisseur as Sir Don to nominate thee as the best middle-order batsman he had witnessed Down Under, for even there, despite a barrage of bumpers hurled at thee by Lindwall that bordered on bodyline, thou didst leave thy mark in telling fashion, not just on the leather liberated repeatedly at the fence but on the minds of men mesmerised by thy awesome batting prowess, even if evident not in fullest flow but in seed form of surpassing strength and beauty.
