WHERE'S THE BAN?

WHERE'S THE BAN?

Private schools can teach Hinduism, I guess. There is no ban on it. The Constitution prohibits religious instruction in fully State-funded educational institutions as per Draft Article 22 (Article 28 of the Constitution of India, 1950) which was debated in the Constituent Assembly on 7 December, 1948. So, it is up to the Hindus to open schools where Hindu scriptures will be taught. If Hindus privately do not take the initiative of teaching Hinduism to children and instead keep blaming the Government for not allowing Hindu religious education in fully State-funded academic institutions, they will be failing in their duty to Dharma. Self-help in such a case is the best help.

PROBLEMS FACED BY TODAY'S HINDUS

PROBLEMS FACED BY TODAY'S HINDUS

Hindus in India today face multiple problems. They are as follows:

1) Upper class Hindu population is declining rapidly.

2) Emigration of upper class highly educated Hindus is alarmingly on the rise.

3) Conversely, Muslim population is increasing rapidly which is shifting the demographic balance alarmingly. This because Islam is bent upon the destruction of all other religions, especially, Hinduism which in its view commits the unpardonable offence of 'shirk' which is partnering Allah who Islam deems to be the only God.

4) A very large number of Hindu Gurus have taken to commerce in the name of religion, duping devotees with sweet talk, unpractised principles, magic mongering and dubious 'yogic' methods.

5) Islam and Christianity are aggressively converting and perverting vulnerable sections of the Hindu population, thereby threatening the age-old civilisational character of the country.

6) A handful of the super-rich are holding in the palm of their hands an inordinately large proportion of the country's wealth. This economic disparity is weakening the Hindu masses who ought to be the real strength of the population.

7) Proliferation of the commercial culture with its consequent effect in film-making and advertising is ruining the general character of the people, especially the urban educated class who are by the day becoming superficial, unethical, greedy and devoid of adequate strength of character.

8) The administrative abuse of secularism by suppressing Hindu interests while protecting minority rights has really weakened the Hindus ever since Independence.

9) The removal of Sanskrit study at the school level over the last five decades has delinked Hindu children from their dharmic roots. They have grown up as aliens to their own culture in the spiritual sense with association being maintained only in the superficial sense of festivities during puja time like the bursting of crackers and the burning of fireworks during Deepavali, the spraying of colours during Holi etc.

10) Hindu parents are themselves ignorant of the Sanatan scriptures for some of the above reasons and, thus, in turn totally neglect the spiritual education of their children.

11) Hindu spiritual organisations of the highest repute are today running madly after money, although taking care to camouflage commercial intent by pious pretensions.

12) Absence of the martial culture among large sections of the population is making Hindus timid. A completely vegetarian diet by an estimated 70% of the Hindu population is not helping matters in making their muscles stronger and their minds more courageous to tackle the enemy fearlessly.

13) Absence of spiritual leadership today has the general mass of Hindus rudderless and easy victim to charlatans preaching religion.

14) Minority appeasement by the political parties to secure their vote banks is helping them to strengthen their ranks for debilitating the fabric of Hinduism and the Hindus.

15) A general cowardice has come upon the Hindu masses, a hypocrisy among the educated, a posturing of strength and patriotism which is devoid of character, conviction or truth. There is a general ignorance, even apathy among the aware about the fate of the Hindus in the future. People are content to chase sense pleasures if they are moneyed. If not, they are busy struggling for their bread. No one has time or energy to spare for the defence of the Dharma.

16) The all-embracing character of the Hindus makes them believe that Islam and Christianity are also the same. Thus, they misread the proselytising intent of these very aggressive Abrahamic religions to their own downfall.

17) The extreme democracy of Hindu worship does not allow Hindus to unite under a common banner. This is why Hindus lack in solidarity. Unity is a must if civilisational survival is to be achieved. Here Hindus are woefully short.

18) The Ramakrishna Mission does nothing to preach Swami Vivekananda widely and effectively, neither does the Government adopt measures to spread his message.

19) An organisation like ISKCON despite its commendable global work in propagating Hinduism is largely sectarian and engaged in proving the superiority of Shree Krishna over other gods and goddesses including Bhagavān Shiv and Mā Kāli. This divides the Hindus.

20) Casteism has divided and debilitated the Hindu community. Instead of attribute-based Varna distinction and profession-based Jāti distinction, birth-based such distinctions are neither scripturally sanctioned nor wholesome in any way. Hindus must en masse unite under the banner of Advaita Vedanta in all its philosophical profundity and pluralistic practical catholicity.

21) The 🕉 must be made the common unifying spiritual symbol for all Hindus consciously, for it has already been there for ages scripturally.
