IN RESPONSE TO A MISCHIEVOUS COMMENT WHERE THE QUESTIONER TYPICALLY ASKS ME TO REVEAL WHAT MY CONTRIBUTION TO SOCIETY HAS EVER BEEN SO THAT HE MAY FEEL INSPIRED BY IT

IN RESPONSE TO A MISCHIEVOUS COMMENT WHERE THE QUESTIONER TYPICALLY ASKS ME TO REVEAL WHAT MY CONTRIBUTION TO SOCIETY HAS EVER BEEN SO THAT HE MAY FEEL INSPIRED BY IT

Read Swami Vivekananda and be inspired. I am too insignificant a person for you to bother about or to gain inspiration from. Does a decent person boast about his attainments or social contributions that he should be impelled to announce his own good deeds to the same effect as your esteemed self has more or less almost superciliously demanded me to? Instead of attempting to comprehend the import of the post in these tragic times, you have chosen to be unduly sarcastic which is why Bengal has today plummeted to such an abysmal cultural level in every sense of the term, for you are not alone but are yet another of a multitude of carping critics who care not to look into the mirror to behold their grimacing faces but devote their time and energy to pulling others down who are intent on raising the culture of this benighted race to its pristine mark as Swamiji had exhorted us all to do. It is a shame that it should be so, a pity that this should be the fallen state of sceptical, cynical Bengal when with all her singular genius she ought to have flourished to occupy a premier place in the world. As it stands, with caustic, unsympathetic critics without a cause or purpose like you that abound in today's Bengal, she is lying at the base of national life oblivious of her inherent genius and unbothered by her degraded state which she must forthwith redress if she does not aspire for civilisational annihilation. Hope these words strike a sympathetic chord in your otherwise unsympathetic heart and create conditions in you for harmonious collaboration with comrades-in-arms for the uplift of Bengal. Bagha Jatin stands as the exemplar of a lustrous, valorous Bengali who lived and died for the cause of regeneration of our dear motherland. Follow Swamiji, like the hero of Balasore did, to turn on a new leaf in your life instead of wasting your years chasing the wild geese of pestering good-intentioned people with your mischievous comments. May better sense prevail! 🕉
