MESSAGES GALORE ... 86

1. Utter anarchy in West Bengal. 

2. Frothy interactions on the surface. Deeper rumblings are in subterranean realms. There evolution breeds its offspring. There revolution broods on future course. 

3. The heart opens up for one that works for others. And what a benediction is showered on one that does so out of love for the served ones, beholding all such as one's own!

4. Sycophancy has eaten into the vitals of our nation. A self-reliant Bharat also means a Bharat composed of citizens who are self-reliant, possessed of self-dignity and not unduly of a slavish mentality that urges them unto slavish cringing before leaders. After all a nation of upright individuals is truly self-reliant. 

5. We as individuals must develop character, rather manifest it from our inner resources. Then alone we as a nation will be strong enough to make our presence felt in the world. What is the use of looking to the US for everything when we have it in us to provide ourselves with it?

6. Why do the PM's associates needlessly keep harping on his personality instead of only talking about the pros and cons of policies set in motion by him? Why build this personality cult that is so antithetical to the functioning of a true democracy? Remember what Swami Vivekananda had said. He had urged his followers to stress on principle and not personality. Regarding his Master Sri Ramakrishna he had said that it would be proper to spread his message and not his personality which would automatically spread if his message duly reached the masses.

7. Unless the whole of India takes to the reading of Swami Vivekananda, India will not rise.

11. বুদ্ধি আছে, বোধ নেই | তাই এই দুর্দশা | বিবেকানন্দপাঠ আবশ্যক, অপরিহার্য | নইলে সমাজজীবনে দুর্ণীতি বাড়তেই থাকবে | ব্যষ্টির চরিত্র গঠিত না হলে সমষ্টির চরিত্র গঠিত হবে কেমন করে ? অগ্নিযুগে স্বামীজীকে কেন্দ্র করেই বৃটিশবিরোধী ভীষণ আন্দোলন গড়ে উঠেছিল এই বাংলায় |

12. শুধু প্রতিক্রিয়ায় হবে না | সাথে সাথে প্রগতি চাই | তার জন্য চাই অধ্যাত্মচৈতন্য | সেইহেতুই তো আহ্বান করছি সকলকে, "আসুন, সকলে মিলে স্বামীজীর 'বাণী ও রচনা' নিত্যনিয়মিত পাঠ করি; চরিত্রগঠন, জীবনগঠন করি | তবে তো সমাজজীবনে যথাযথ পরিবর্তন আসবে |"

13. ভাল লোকদের শুধু ভাল হলে চলবে না | তাদের আধ্যাত্মিকভাবে শক্তিমান হতে হবে | ব্যক্তিত্বের যথার্থ স্ফুরণের দ্বারাই দুর্বৃত্তের মোকাবিলা সম্ভব |

14. The political parties are so corrupt that it is difficult to have faith in any of them. Hence, justice becomes a difficult proposition.

24. It is best to work from one's core consciousness, radiating from the centre. Running helter-skelter hardly helps much.

25. Do not imitate the West, western modes and mores, western ideas and ideals, western manners and mannerisms. Be Indian in every sense. To be rooted to one's soil is stability and life; to be transplanted unduly is fragility and death.

28. মাথা ছেড়ে সবাই বাদবাকি অঙ্গপ্রত্যঙ্গকেই লক্ষ্য করে বাণ ছোঁড়েন | সমস্যা সেখানেই | দুর্নীতির মূল উৎখাত না করে সভয়ে নিরবতা পালন অথবা পরোক্ষভাবে বিষমূলে সার, জল ইত্যাদি প্রদান করায় শিক্ষার কোন মাহাত্ম্য প্রকাশ পায় ? এ কি গণতন্ত্র যে শুধু দুর্বলের ওপর শক্তিপ্রয়োগ ও প্রবলের ভয়ে তাঁদের অনায়াস ছাড়পত্রদান ? কারোর সাহস নেই দুর্নীতির চূড়ায় ও গোড়ায় যথাযথ প্রহার করেন ? যাঁরা তিলোত্তমার নৃশংস নিধনের জন্য মূলে দায়ী পরোক্ষভাবে, তাঁদের দিকে অঙ্গুলিমাত্র কেউ তুলছেন না ? তাহলে কি এরই নাম গণতন্ত্র, এই জনশক্তির পরিচায়ক ?

29. Trust not the corrupt politicians. They are all in conjoint conspiracy against the commoner's concerns.

30. Free speech must not be curtailed. If people are not permitted to express their criticisms of the government, democracy will die.

31. One Tilottama died so that a hundred million Tilottamas may live. But can such an end ever be validated even in poetic terms? No.

32. 'Where women are worshipped, there the gods rejoice.' (Manu) 

And where women are done upon, there demons dwell.

33. Tilottama sank when she struck the deathly ice. But the iceberg stretches deep and wide, its tip visible, base in a fathomless pit.

34. Not all are averse to reading Vivekananda, although many are. Yet, the movement carries on even as bigwigs and tall-talkers disappoint.

36. রামকৃষ্ণ মঠ ও রামকৃষ্ণ মিশনের প্রতিটি শাখাকেন্দ্রকে আন্তরিক আহ্বান করি, " 'স্বামী বিবেকানন্দের বাণী ও রচনা'--এঁর বহুল প্রচার করুন |" বর্তমানে বিশ্বব্যাপী দুর্নীতি, মূল্যবোধের অন্তিম অবক্ষয় ও মানুষের মেরুদণ্ডহীনতার পরিবেশে স্বামীজীর বাণী সভ্যতারক্ষা ও তার উন্নতির মহৌষধি | সমাজের বুকে যে লক্ষ ছিদ্র আজ সর্বত্র পরিলক্ষিত, সেই প্রবেশপথেই স্বামীজীর শিক্ষা সহজে অনুপ্রবিষ্ট হবে ও মানুষের চরিত্র গঠন করবে | তাই উপযুক্ত প্রচারকের দ্বারা দেশদেশান্তরে স্বামীজীর বাণী প্রচার আজ এতই আবশ্যক, অপরিহার্য |

 

37. An earnest request, nay, an exhortation to all branch centres of Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission to massively propagate 'The Complete Works of Swami Vivekananda'. In these days of eroding values it is an urgent necessity. The cracks and crevices, faultlines and fissures obtaining in the country and in the world today make conditions ideally pervious for the mass penetration of Swamiji's message.

38. রাক্ষসকে যদি মিঠেবাক্যে সৎপথে আনা যেত তো শ্রীরামচন্দ্রকে অরিদমনে যু্দ্ধ করতে হত না | এখানেও তাই | ভাল কথায় কাজ হয় কই ?

43. India will not remain a secular state once Hindus become a minority. Alarming situation looming large as demography silently shifts.

45. The Sanatan Dharma is the sum and substance of Indian civilisation. Sanskrit must be taught universally in schools across India.

46. The eyewash that ruling dispensations give to the masses they rule is increasingly being exposed in these days of mass media. Henceforth public resistance will rise against such mischief and bring politicians to book. Eastern Europe in 1989 saw such a popular uprising that brought down authoritarian Communist regimes across nations at a climactic point in history beginning with the breaking of the Berlin Wall. Elsewhere politics continues to play dastardly games at the expense of the commoner's blood, sweat and toil. As capitalism shows its poisonous fangs more and more blatantly and human suffering increases, popular revolts will take place worldwide despite governmental oppression using sophisticated state of the art technology. But brutality cannot stifle human conscience nor annihilate human consciousness. The path of evolution is tortuous and it may take as yet a deal of time before this political-industrial nexus is fully exposed and people comprehend the cause of their suffering which in turn will prompt corrective action to improve the state of things. It is a tall order, especially with crafty politicians and their intellectual cronies devising ever-renewed means of public deception and the state using force, overt and covert, to suppress popular uprising. But the power of the people none can resist and must eventually make its way. Unto that day of fulfilled dreams we work in our mission to raise public awareness about the dastardly forces they have placed themselves under that operate in the name of different sorts of controls exercised over them. Freedom has remained a cherished dream for ages of bondage almost mutely suffered by the masses. Read, reflect, realise what is at stake and what may be achieved if you rightly exercise your options that alone can free you from the tyranny of perfidious politicians who you in gullibility idolise but who fool you day in and day out. 🕉

47. Hyper-curiosity about others is bad. Curiosity be better restricted to impersonal subjects for civilisational good.

48. Swamiji had desired that every Indian be taught Sanskrit.

49. We are Hindus and we ought to be rooted in our Sanatan culture whose vast repository is in Sanskrit literature. So, study Sanskrit.

50. Brāhmans should 'defend the treasury of the Sanatan Dharma' instead of casting aspersions on those who do so. Brāhman, awake!

51. The brāhmans of this holy motherland of ours must take to defending the Sanatan Dharma instead of trying to pull down its edifice.

52. The balance of the varnas is essential for the harmonious functioning of our nation. Rooting out privilege must not mean that you uproot civilisation itself.

53. I find so many plain apathetic to our cause of spreading the word of Swamiji and one outright antagonistic to it when he sees it as coming from me. What we need is greater sympathy for the cause, cooperation and concern at a time when propagation of Swamiji's message remains our one lifeline in a polity that has simply lost its spiritual moorings despite the tallest of pretensions. Come ye and join in our movement to spreading the word around. Also participate in our 'Vivekananda Reading Movement' that is geared at galvanising a critical mass of readers in the act of absorbing, assimilating and activating the Swami's message in real life.

54. Hindus must no longer remain under the delusion of religious harmony draped over them by pious preachers. The persecution of Hindus yet again in Bangladesh should stir them unto the wakeful state. Enough of sleep, enough of daydreaming, enough of loving the enemy in a one-sided manner. Now it is time to wake up and unite in self-defence.

55. Religious harmony can never be achieved but human harmony may be if people rise above doctrine to emphasise humanity which as of now is a far cry, for the world is torn by sectarian tension drowning that very humanity.

58. মার্ক্সবাদ একটি জড়বাদী ধনতন্ত্রবিরোধী গভীর দর্শন | তা পড়ুন, বুঝুন, তার যৌক্তিকতা, যৌক্তিক সীমাবদ্ধতা বিচার করুন, তারপর রায় দিন তার সম্বন্ধে |
