কত লোকে 'জয়তু স্বামীজী' ধ্বনি তোলেন | এর মধ্যে কিছুজন যদি 'স্বামী বিবেকানন্দের বাণী ও রচনা' নিত্য পাঠ করতেন, তাহলে জাতির চরিত্র পালটে যেত | এক সুভাষেই বাজিমাত | তিনি তো তন্ন তন্ন করে পড়েছিলেন ইংরেজীতে 'The Complete Works of Swami Vivekananda' | আর আমরা তা বিসর্জন দিয়ে শুধু জয়ধ্বনি দেব ? বাঘা যতীন, রাসবিহারী বসু, মাস্টারদা সূর্য সেন, কানাইলাল দত্ত, হেমচন্দ্র ঘোষ ও আরও কত শত বীর বিপ্লবী যে বজ্রবাণী শুনে, পড়ে দেশকে স্বাধীন করলেন, সেই বাণীর আজ এত অনাদর ? শুধু কাপুরুষতা, চীৎকার, চেঁচামেচি, অসভ্যতাসহায়ে কি দেশের কল্যাণ সম্ভব ? আসুন, বিবেকানন্দবোধে উদ্বুদ্ধ হওয়ার জন্য তাঁর 'বাণী ও রচনা' পড়ি প্রত্যহ নিয়মিত | আমাদের দেখে আরও দশজন জাগবে, এ কাজে প্রবৃত্ত হবে | তবেই তো দেশসেবা ঠিক ঠিক হবে, দেশ জাগবে, শক্তিমান, চৈতন্যবান হবে, কল্যাণের পথে অগ্রসর হবে |

যে মানুষ হাসতে জানেন না, হাসির ওপর যাঁকে কর দিতে হয়, সে মানুষ যত প্রতিপত্তিশালীই হোন না কেন, যত তৈলমর্দিতই হোন না কেন অগণিত ভক্ত-অনুগামীর দ্বারা, তিনি বড় একটা ভাল প্রকৃতির নন | এটি একটি পরিক্ষিত সত্য ও সেই অনুরূপ সিদ্ধান্ত | বাবা, বেশী ক্ষমতায় হাসতে যদি এত কষ্ট, তো ক্ষমতা কমলে দন্তবিকাশ কর কি করে ? বুঝেছি, তোষামোদ পেতে হাসি রোধ করে কপট গাম্ভীর্য দেখাতে হয় কিন্তু তোষামোদ করতে হলে হাসা অপরিহার্য | বাণিজ্যিক হাসি !

THIS MASS MOVEMENT

This movement must have a construction end---the destruction of mafia-raj. Politicians in the highest echelons of power, when found corrupt and dictatorial to a dangerous degree, must be brought to book like ordinary citizens are. 

The vandalism by thousands of goons at R.G.Kar Medical College and Hospital has to be investigated to fullness and the masterminds brought to book. The tampering of evidence in the crime scene and in its whereabouts, the sudden renovation work in the room adjacent, the delay in filing an FIR, the triplespeak to the parents of the victim by the hospital authorities post her molestation and murder, the hurried cremation and avoidance of a second postmortem, the continued attempts by the ruling dispensation to focus all attention on one criminal alone, the reappointment of the Principal of R.G.Kar within hours as Principal of National Medical College, the highhandedness of the Kolkata Police with regard to largely peaceful protestors, the harassment of onliners for posts in protest, especially two eminent doctors who were summoned to Lalbazar for supposed instigation, the veiled and open threats issued by the Chief Minister to doctors, to the different provinces and to the Prime Minister and his office---all these and so much more must be duly investigated to their thorough completion to bring this mass movement to its eventual successful closure. Finally and most importantly, doctors must be provided with security and safe space for them to be able to discharge their services to their best ability without fear of being beaten up by a disgruntled mob or molested and murdered by goons under the protective care of the powers that be.

CHANGE THE CBSE HISTORY NARRATION FROM ITS PRESENT MARXIST ORIENTATION TO ITS PRISTINE STORY-TELLING OF ROYAL DYNASTIES AND THEIR EFFECTS

 The CBSE history course must be radically changed and a smooth and orderly narrative of royalty as of yore ought to replace the current Marxist narrative of history in diverse dimensions with special effect on the progressive rise of the proletariat through the evolutionary scheme of things. The present presentation of history is too complex for easy ingestion by students with immature minds who would rather revel in reading the ride of royalty through the ages and its effects in its multifarious phases on the life of the masses in general. Right now the course is cursory, disjointed and drab with a plethora of subjects making their brief appearances and disappearances which leave the students with insufficient data and depth-understanding of the subject at hand. 

The Marxist treatment of history has its relative validity and value but delivered to children with immature faculties makes a mockery of the study of the subject with any degree of comprehension. Students exposed to this regimen of Marxist historiography quickly lose contact with their national roots as internationalism takes them over and denationalises them in spirit to an extent. Humanity becomes the watchword as a vague representation of what real humanity is as viewed through the prism of the nation's historical vicissitudes through the ages. Undermining the importance of past royal dynasties and their policies and replacing them with human development in its diverse phases and movements may be a modern approach anf a valid one at that but it betrays a certain lack of understanding of what the imaginative child mind can be spurred on by and what essentially nourishes the child in terms of growing up to be a healthy patriot with an abundance of love for his motherland/fatherland which need not necessarily degenerate into parochialism or narrow nationalism that can cause international disruption when the situation permits. 

To rob the child of his imagination in the realm of emperors and empires and to replace it with a diet of proletarian culture as developing through the ages is a supposed advancement in the wrong direction. Hence, it is meet that history books in the CBSE curriculum be rewritten in a coherent, chronological and comprehensive manner with a far greater emphasis on the reign of kings and emperors, their conquests and failures, and the rise and fall of dynasties, and through it all in a brief nutshell the evolutionary trend of things, the progressive evolution of the emerging common man. 

The history taught at school level ought to be a good mixture of storytelling and analysis, inference et al. To make it over-complex and over-intellectual may suit the college and the university goer but certainly not the schoolgoer. Hence, simplify history, keep it chronologically ordered and coherently present it so that today's students may mature into patriots worth the salt and not puerile people who are blessed ignoramuses devoid of kinship with their own country. 🕉

Women must feel safe to go out even in the dead of night unaccompanied. If the government cannot ensure it, it has failed in its duty. Merely asking women to stay at home and abstain from night duty indicates that lawlessness is the general law in the state. Segregation of women is a step backwards in the social evolutionary order and ought to be contested. Those who are possessed of animal propensities need to be kept out of social bounds so that the rest of civilised humanity can live secure in an atmosphere of peace and freedom. If the government cannot ensure it, it should reconsider its right to stay in office or its option to resign from the same, allowing a more capable set of people to run the affairs of the state. 

Long ago Gopal Krishna Gokhale had said, "What Bengal thinks today, India thinks tomorrow." That was another Bengal, though, of another era, the vast Bengal Presidency, replete with the likes of Aurobindo, Rabindranath, Saratchandra, J.C.Bose, Bipin Chandra Pal, P.C Roy and a whole host of other luminaries in the diverse walks of life, and this is another Bengal, its very antithesis, partitioned and bleeding and never quite recovering from the perfidies of the times. Today Bengal has so degenerated that it can fairly be said, "What Bengal thinks today, India has thought yesterday." And with growing demographic change, degeneracy of the population is increasingly setting in with the Bengali 'bhadralok' being now replaced by people of crass culture or of little culture. Violence is on the rise as criminals increasingly take to politics with an inept electorate mutely witnessing proceedings even as their fate is being daily sealed on all fronts. Indeed, Bengal has reached its cultural and civilisational nadir and is on the verge of either an implosion to nothingness or an explosion unto scattered debris. A dismal picture. A destructive fate. Bengal, thou art at the crossroads of your life! Choose to live or prepare to die bereft of culture, character and civilisational identity which latter element millions have already renounced to their ruinous fate.

Thus far high birthrate over centuries across the vast motherland kept Hindu numbers up and among ither reasons thwarted Islamic expansion to critical bounds whereby Hindus would be completely overcome in numerical terms. Thus far but no more. Demographic changes are taking place which should within a century make India a Muslim-majority country unless, as I have prophesied, Hindus wake up to thwart the Islamic advance which Hindu-revival I see coming. But the demographic danger looms large and we must wake up to it. A 24% Muslim population with Brutush help and Congress ineptness partitioned India. It can happen again and, worse still, thus time it may not be partition after all but a total overhauling of the Indian state machinery with the introduction of the Sharia. You may say I am having wild imaginings but let me remind you that so did Hindus as late as 1937 poohpooh the so-to-say puerile proposition of a separate homeland for the Muslims as originally proposed by Saeed Ahmed Khan and later latched on to by proponents of Pakistan, calling it an impossible proposition. But within ten years of that date a bloody partition of the motherland had taken place mutilating both her western and Eastern arms.

Debaprasad Bhattacharya (Dada), you are a notable exception to this rule as you share my posts copiously. But the exception itself proves the general rule. This observation of mine is with respect to a limited aspect of what the scene is in the vaster world as pointed out in the post. 

Swamiji used to say, "Myself last, the world first." But these are messages of the master sage shelved as archival property now, not to be put into practical use. This sort of self-involvement tanramounting to selfishness is opposed to original propositions of a civic society which gregarious man, to make living easy through cooperative endeavour, had once entered into with each other by implicit understanding. However, the baser instincts are more powerful and will only in course of evolution be tamed for the emergence of a more evolved order. Right now we have to contend with this either to our destruction through our own selfishness in criticism but in no rectification of the erroneous order or in due exertion to alter the sad state and raise it to a more desirable level. Upon the resolution of our endeavour and the circumstantial allowance depends our fate. 🕉

I have been long associated [since 1983] intimately with the Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission and quite often take to criticising them, to my mind and understanding, duly. An organisation needs criticism for it not to overly stray from original course which in the absence of such criticism in the past and in the case of due criticism brutally suppressed as in the Catholic Church, organisations have gone to ruin with cataclysmic consequences for society. Human beings are gregarious which is why they live in society, and most people are sheep who are led by a shepherd for good or for ill. Devotees who are discerning do not see ill in someone resisting spiritual organisational ills. But those who are mere titular devotees are blind adherents of misguided and misguiding missionaries, and cannot brook criticism even if valid. In their organisational infatuation they confuse its founder for its later trustees of lesser character and credibility, lower ethical and spiritual standards even unto compromising original principles of their prophet-patriot Swami Vivekananda. These latter ones are to be resisted by due criticism and a large sympathetic heart lent out to their fallen ethical standards and their general service in respective order. No one is above criticism, man or monk, sole propertiship or joint stock company, individual attempting philanthropy or large bodies like the Ramakrishna Mission doing seminal service to society, albeit along altered track from the one set out by Swami Vivekananda. And this you have succinctly pointed out which I duly endorse. To recapitulate what Swamiji had said prior to formally founding the Ramakrishna Mission---"To organise or not to organise? If I organise, the spirit will diminish. And if I do not organise, the message will not spread." Again he had observed, "Organisation breeds new evils." Perhaps these overly loyal-to-a-fault 'devotees' are innocent of these cogitations of the great man and are thus easy victims of surface observation, erroneous though they so often are. Jai Ramakrishna! Jai Ma! Jai Swamiji! 🕉

No, it is not so. The post refers to the general breakdown of administrative machinery in every phase of this ruling dispensation owing to sustained corruption over a protracted period. Hence, the question of my supporting this corruption simply does not arise. From my sustained campaigning against it I hope it has been amply evident that I unequivocally denounce the corruption of the current political order and I need not elaborate or deliberate on it further. If doubt still lingers as to my stance, I can only say, "Men may construe things, after their fashion / Clean from the purpose of the things themselves."

Today, is Friday, the 16th of August, 2024. On another such Friday, a fateful one 78 years ago, a genocide of Hindus had taken place on the streets of Kolkata, a genocide orchestrated by the All India Muslim League. This day, thus, ought to be a day of mourning for all Hindus as on this day thousands of Hindus were killed by Muslims at the behest of Muhammad Ali Jinnah and Huseyn Shaheed Suhrawardy in their bid to force the partition of India. Next day, Gopal Mukherjee, popularly known as Gopal Panthha, led the Hindu retaliation, forcing the Muslims on the backfoot, so much so that Gandhiji's intervention at last could stop Gopal Panthha from teaching the Muslim goons the due lesson in adequate terms. As it stood the Muslim League now took the carnage to East Pakistan and Noakhali of historical infamy happened. The carnage spread throughout East Pakistan and lasted for close to three months with Hindus being murdered by the thousands, force-converted and Hindu girls and women raped with an inept Congress unable to stop the genocide and the British Government proving equally inefficient. That day, 16 August, 1946, is in the not-so-distant a past that it should be forgotten by the people of West Bengal. But it has been. Today there is no memorial to the murdered, the molested, the mutilated and the force-converted that stands in Kolkata. Shame on Bengal that has forgotten its brutalised ancestors and takes pleasure in puerile pastimes!
