EPISTLES TO DISCIPLES:
HARSHITA MISHRA ... 1
LETTER 1:
Dear Harshita, 14.10.2025
Sanātan Dharma is the one hope of the world sinking in the mire of ignorance and wickedness. It needs to be spread across the world for human rejuvenation. In India itself it needs wide and deep propagation so that the tide of Abrahamic proselytism may not only be thwarted but a reverse tide set in which will bring converts from the Mother Faith back to the fold. For this to happen Sanātanis must themselves be made aware of the glorious principles of their Dharma and these must be demonstrated in our lives as lived principles, not merely preached precepts. This will inspire the Hindus and foster Sanātan solidarity. Here we have to play our respective roles. Mere sloganeering will not do but calm action, silent accumulation of strength and spontaneous radiation all around is the way. For this purity of thought, word and deed, ceaseless chanting of the Ishtamantra, honesty, sincerity, truthfulness and all other virtues prescribed in the Shāstras must be our natural attributes. Through spiritual practice they must become part and parcel of our beings. The divinity within must shine through. Only then will we be able to touch the lives of others naturally, inspire others to dedicate themselves for the protection and preservation of all that we regard as holy and sacred in our culture. This is the way ahead.
Read 'The Life of Swami Vivekananda by his Eastern and Western Disciples', an Advaita Ashrama publication (Ramakrishna Mission). Chant ceaselessly but always remain alert to circumstance. This much for now. More later.
With blessings on you and yours,
Gurudev
