EPISTLES TO DISCIPLES: DEEPANWITA DUTTA ... 1

EPISTLES TO DISCIPLES:

DEEPANWITA DUTTA ... 1

LETTER 1:

Dear Deepanwita,                    13.10.2025

                                                         Kolkata

You are a bright soul endowed with a fine intelligence and an upright character, overall an asset to human society. These attributes have been yours through past good karma which if you keep up, they will grow incrementally till you are strong enough to throw off the burden of desires that hold you down like all others. Health in your case is a prime bother but you have to master the art of circumventing health issues and advancing your spiritual life slowly. Whenever health is alright you should intensify your spiritual practice. The will being there, the way will be found. Nature herself bows down before the one of indomitable will-force and makes way for the progress of such a one. So, be upbeat even when you are, so to say, down and out, remembering your essential divine nature. You are a composite of body, mind and soul. But beyond this triune of body, mind, soul, there is a higher entity called the Ātman which is your real Self. To the realisation of that Self all action should be directed. But this is life's ultimate objective and one must proceed slowly towards it. Haste will make for waste. Right now keep on chanting as has been directed and read the passages from Swamiji's works sent by me. Of course, read my letters as well.

Stay well. Recover and start working full-steam as before. My blessings are always being showered on you. Never be downcast or depressed but stay optimistic and upbeat.

Ever blessing you and yours,

Gurudev

LETTER 2:

Dear Deepanwita,                    14.10.2025

This life is a golden opportunity to raise oneself to the level of blissfulness by chanting the Holy Name as given by the Guru. Animals eat, drink, procreate, even have some sort of community feeling but cannot think of God. Man can not only rationalise, discover science, invent technology for ease of living, but can also introspect and arrive at divine realisation. This is the fundamental difference. This then ought also to be the goal---to realise God and to forge Sanātan solidarity when it has historically been so under attack, almost to the point of extinction in many lands, and the trend continues in Pakistan and Bangladesh, Afghanistan having been long gone. Even in India Sanātan Dharma and Sanātanis are under constant persecution with politicians playing foul with our faith fortunes much like Jaichand who sold Bhāratvarsha's freedom to Muslim slavery by aligning with Muhammad Ghori against the last Hindu king of Delhi, Prithvirāj Chauhān. We must build our individual spiritual lives and strengthen ourselves to forge the larger Sanātan solidarity.

With blessings ever showering on such a luminous soul as you are,

Gurudev

LETTER 3:

Dear Deepanwita,                         20.10.2025

Silence is golden, speech silver, and of the two the former is the powerhouse and the latter the generated power in transmission. Contemplation, meditation, rumination, cogitation, reflection, pondering---all these are the mother of action, of work, of deeds and achievements. This dual play in phases constitutes all of phenomena, Consciousness Absolute, transcendent, spherical, unbounded, immobile, a frozen solidarity of Self-brooding in the Being, and Its manifestation in apparent split consciousness, dispersion into thoughts multifarious before concretising into hardened matter that further evolves into flesh and form.

Intelligence is native to consciousness but manifests as thought, analytical and synthetic. The intelligent evolve faster in the material and in the spiritual realm, for intelligence involves the capacity for discernment and discrimination, so very essential in advancing through the thick of the dense fog of desires that obscures vision. Here devotion supreme to the Guru saves one from much of the ordeal that would otherwise obstruct forward motion. Intensity of devotion is the searchlight that can penetrate through the dense dark, through misty morn and dusty eve, through the thick veil of hanging smog that allows not sight of an inch ahead otherwise. Tears of love for the Divine dissolves the dirt that clogs the pathway to the sanctum of the heart where enthroned waits the Lord in self-splendour, in eager expectation of the return of His long lost friend wandering in the wilderness of the world. Then in the hour of climactic reunion all fetters fall and a blissfulness of being is experienced which passes understanding and which defies description. Then all is well. It began as tragedy but ended as comedy after all. Cheer up and advance! Charaiveti!

With blessings boundless and company constant,

Gurudev
