THE PLIGHT OF OUR SANĀTANI BRETHREN ACROSS THE BORDER IN BANGLADESH---ALL RELIGIONS ARE TRUE?

THE PLIGHT OF OUR SANĀTANI BRETHREN ACROSS THE BORDER IN BANGLADESH---ALL RELIGIONS ARE TRUE?

Bangladesh has become a hell for Hindus to live in. Why does the Ramakrishna Mission not rise up in defence of the Hindus there? Is this protection of the virtuous and the destruction of evil-doers which is the stated aim of the Avatār? If we as devotees of the Ramakrishna Mission can muster courage of conviction to vehemently protest against the persecution of Hindus in Bangladesh, why can't our parent spiritual organisation do so? What sort of parentage is this? Would Swamiji have been silent thus? Is this the time for song and dance when Sanātanis are being annihilated and gradually wiped out in Bangladesh? Pakistan of 1947 is being enacted afresh in Bangladesh today. Stop this hypocrisy of the harmony of religions when Islam's scriptural declaration is that those who practise 'shirk' (partnering God with other deities which polytheistic Hindus do, according to Islamic understanding) are the worst enemies of Islam and must be either converted to the only true faith, that is Islam, or must be fought and annihilated. Where is the scope for harmony with such a political ideology which is totally inimical to Hinduism and the Hindus? Consider this and stop misleading and weakening the Hindus further with such fanciful interpretation of Islam as you in full knowledge of its doctrines needlessly do.

Let us be proud Hindus without compromising on truth, that is, the fundamental differences of the different faiths. Thakur and Swamiji have seen the innermost depths of phenomena among which even Islam and Christianity belong, and hence have they averred the supposed truth---perhaps their flawed supposition on account of paucity of scriptural knowledge of Islam and insufficient exposure to its fanaticism and perhaps because of their universally expansive heart which embraced all---that all religions lead to the same spiritual goal. But do they? History and scripture speak otherwise and in this regard I hold them as flawed in their real assessment, both in scriptural terms and in practice, unless of course we draw some complex logical justification for their assumptions and averments contrary to experience, like Thakur's successful practice and realisation of the essence of Sufism which is not quite Qur'anic classical Islam of the Prophet Muhammad though but is a fusion of Islam and the Vedānta, and hence not a valid justification as such of his pronouncement regarding Islam.

I leave it at this in frustration here but I shall carry on the fight, if necessary alone. But I also know that all are neither gullible nor cowards and they are doing their wee bit as well. Together we will do what the Mission, almost in sheer apathy for the failing and the falling Hindus in Bangladesh as elsewhere, fails to do, preferring instead tall talk on the Vedānta and the despicable culture of debilitating song and dance by renunciates among friends and devotees in more peaceful circumstance, oiling already well-oiled heads while our defenceless brethren die in silence like leaves in winter falling off the mother tree one by one till the mother is shorn of them all. Is this what Dharmasangsthāpan is all about?

MESSAGES GALORE ... 116

MESSAGES GALORE ... 116

1. 100,000 slim copies of Vivekananda's works will be distributed free among the youth of West Bengal to awaken consciousness.

2. I have been awake all night, driven by mosquitos to wakeful desperation. Like the nightwatchman they keep guard over precious blood of humans and perhaps wish that the bloodline be kept up for further vampirism.

4. We will spread the message of Swamiji with missionary zeal. Just watch how the magic of his words works.

8. It is fruitless preaching soft Vedānta to cowards. They must be taught fighting Vedānta, that which will inspire them not to sing and dance as monks do these days but to war on the enemies of the Hindus on all counts. Preach Vedānta with vigour and valouur as real men and not as meek monastics with pronounced effeminacy.

9. The ability to look beyond one's little self is also spirituality.

12. Vivekananda was a very complex character, at once intensely human, at once supremely divine, the perfect synthesis of man and God. He would now immerse himself in the perplexing problems of the world and try to discover solutions to them, then soar high to sublime spiritual heights beyond the pale of not only ordinary mortals but of exceptional geniuses as well where he would remain absorbed in transcendent Self-absorption. No wonder Sister Christine was awestruck at the width and depth of her Master's personality and considered herself blessed.

13. Truthfulness must be adhered to always. That is the fundamental spiritual attribute, one that holds the aspirant together and keeps him/her integrated. Truthfulness gone, the chances of realisation of Truth go with it and life becomes a repeat of endless past futility in cyclical flow of incarnation and reincarnation with their ceaseless worries and woes in spiritual ignorance. Truthfulness, therefore, is of prime importance and the holding virtue of spirituality. 🕉

14. Hindus converted to Islam become more ardent in their new faith and more inimical to their mother faith and its followers. No wonder Swamiji said, "And then every man going out of the Hindu pale is not only a man less, but an enemy the more."

https://www.ramakrishnavivekananda.info/vivekananda/volume_5/interviews/on_the_bounds_of_hinduism.htm

Strange psychology, isn't it?---destroy your mother faith which gave you birth. Can a worse betrayal be? And yet it is. It caused Partition, sustained genocide of Hindus by jihādis till date, terrorist acts galore, Hindu exodus from Kashmir et al ad infinitum.

15. Those who do Mother's work, Mother advances their cause. She uses Her chosen children as Her instruments and they never fail.

16. One waits and waits but not in vain. Fulfilment comes at the end. 'They also serve who only stand and wait.' ['On His Blindness' --- John Milton]

17. There is a law of life and it is this that you get what you deserve. Simplistic on the surface but it has deeper complex connotations and justifications thereof.

18. It is character that wins in the end. Let Hindus manifest it instead of running after money and sensory gratification alone. Dive within to discover a different dimension to life on earth where the borders between the human and the divine have become blurred and the transit of gods and men up and down the divine ladder keeps fulfilling life in a sense sublime.

20. The defence of Hindus requires Hindus to be more active and aggressively so, aggression in the missionary sense as Swamiji put it.

https://www.facebook.com/share/v/1AAWe9MEzw/

30. The Bay of Bengal is becoming salinised more and more with the tears of persecuted Hindus in Bangladesh flowing into it in endless streams. How long will this merciless menace last?

31. Vishishtādvaitavād seems philosophically flawed when it calls Īshvara 'the repository of infinite blessed qualities' [quoted phrase, courtesy, Swami Atmarupananda] because 'qualities' as such, being plural in number and hence countable, imply that they are finite in nature, and to have infinite such would be logically problematic and their summation being necessarily finite---because the sum of a seemingly endless number of finite quantities would still be finite---, it would not add up to Īshvara who is infinite. And to call Īshvara finite would rob Him of His identity. Hence, the philosophical untenability of Vishishtādvaitavād.

32. The Infinite, it is said, cannot be finitely expressed in language or form. But then how is language finite or form for that matter? That is purely a trap of thought, a rational imposition that curtails flight of the sinking. There is but one Infinite Being and its manifold reflection, each image being infinite as well. Dimensional limitation is a conceptual restriction, never really so.

33. One = Many

34. 0, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, ... , 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 0 is how Reality goes.

35. The Avatār is finite at the frontal level, infinite behind and beyond, a comprehensive connected whole of immeasurable immensity of power and light. Such are Rāmachandra, Krishna and Ramakrishna, the manifestation of spiritual power being proportionate to the needs of the Age of their earthly appearance. In Sri Ramakrishna it has been simply massive but his power is unfolding slowly on account of a decadent society failing to produce worthy carriers of his message over the past few decades. The coming generations will have to alter stance and give life to his message, potent as it in essence is.

38. Do not waste your active life with such passivity regarding national imperatives.

43. The house of fanaticism is like a house of cards tottering with millions leaving the fold and millions more preparing to do so as ex-adherents multiply in number post enlightenment in a world that has rejected unreason and cannot subscribe to archaic assumptions and absolutist injunctions coming supposedly from the highest headquarters that mandates man to rise against man on the basis of queer conceptions of obedience and faith.

45. Monks must be more masculine as Swamiji wished his followers to be. Effeminacy seems endemic in the polity.

46.

47. It needs stronger blood to understand MANHOOD which was the central message of Swamiji's life.

48. God hides best in the cavity of the heart. No publicity there. He works endlessly but silently in total seclusion.

(Sugata Bose)

54.

Disgusting effeminacy! Just what Swamiji hated and exhorted his followers not to indulge in. But they openly flout his directive. Time for a fresh descent of the Divine. Swamiji sure will not brook such open defiance of his instructions to the furtherance of effeminacy of this already effeminate race of ours. Shame!

"My mission is not Ramakrishna's nor Vedānta's nor anything but simply to bring MANHOOD to this people," said Swamiji to Nivedita. Whither manhood as effeminacy rules the roost at every bend and turn of the Mission's current life?

Foreword written by Sugata Bose

56. India is a poor country. Her per capita GDP is abysmally low. Her nominal GDP is 142  in the world and GDP (PPP) 125th.

58. Disgusting display of effeminacy, a trait that Swamiji detested but one that is now increasingly manifest in the current ministration of the Mission authorities.

https://www.facebook.com/share/p/14UJfuQyHY9/

59. There should be no delusions about Islam. The Qur'an is an open book outlining what Islam is all about. There is no secrecy. Read it and get to know the theology, the political ideology, the motivations, the inspiration and the injunctions of Islam. Why depend on hearsay, what maulvis and mullāhs (Islamic clerics) preach? Read the Qur'an and know it yourself.

After reading the Qur'an cover to cover start reading the Hadees of Sahih Bukhāri and Sahih Muslim. Then read the life of the founder prophet of Islam which is called the Sira. Once these are over, read the history of Islamic imperialism, that of the Caliphs (Khalifas) and the kings and emperors, invaders and conquerors. These readings are for advanced students. But for the novice it is the Qur'an that should suffice.

62. How may we as private citizens bring Vivekananda to the school children? Suggest ways and means please. Ideas help.

63. Hindus must manifest greater strength by reflecting on their inner divinity as expounded in the Upanishads.

64. Shun weakness, shed superstition, manifest strength.

66. Nations that are new to civilisation are more cruel. With technology at their disposal, they are even more violent. And if theology or ideology inspires, they turn into veritable devils.

71. The universe is Anantabāhu Īshvara.

72. Two Bengalis brought down the British Empire---Bose and Bose. But we, Bengalis, are unlike both of them and literally leading jellyfish lives.

73. Are these Bengalis the descendants of the Bengali martyrs at the Cellular Jail in the Andamans? Shame!

74. Most irresponsible government that doesn't check population spurt.

75. Better to be an idealistic, self-sacrificing, proletariat-loving communist than an unscrupulous, greedy, exploitative capitalist.

76. India a global economic powerhouse? At whose expense? The blood and toil of the exploited billion-strong poor who are the backbone of the economy and the country otherwise who the weak-bodied, crafty commercial corporate billionaires bleed to serve self-interest? India shining at powerful 144th position out of 196 countries of the world here enlisted. May Mother show us better days!

77. As I teach students, I more and more discover how modern education is utter 'avidya'. And I fully understand now why Sri Ramakrishna gave it up as one of his first major acts of renunciation. The way education in India is being Americanised, dark days are ahead. This is Vaishya Yuga, the Age of the Trader or in modern terminology the Age of Capitalism, when for profit people are sacrificed and culture plummets. Further on the Shudra Yuga or the Age of the Proletariat is coming when creature comforts will be widespread but culture will reach its nadir. Civilisation indeed! A combination of qualities of the four 'varnas' is perhaps practically not possible but the effort must be to approximate that. To this end we must work by making education not only accessible to all but by making society freer and more moral at the same time by following the precepts of Ramakrishna-Vivekananda who indeed appeared in terrestrial form to act as beacons in this dark age of vice and greed.

79. Unless the people are habitually punctual, national work cannot proceed efficiently. And for this to happen, greater national discipline is necessary.

82. Arrogance always meets its nemesis in failure.

83. Yogiji says, "No LAL SALĀM, say 'JAI SHREE RĀM'."

And I say, "With it will come GOLD GHULĀM."

Those who fail to recognise their Guru in time, demean him unduly, they are destined to losing their Guru. And with it they lose the golden opportunity to advance their spiritual life.

SHAMEFUL

SHAMEFUL!

There is no necessity to imitate the West. Base imitation of their manners and demeanour as is in vogue is indicative of lack of self-identity. What is this culture of 'Mummy-Papa', this invasion into even our fundamental addresses of parents? Why is it that vast numbers of city-bred men do not know how to wear the dhoti but must buy ready-made elastic-waist ones from the market? What is this 'Hi' culture? Whither 'namaskār'? And worst of all is this superficial frothy culture that characterises business advertisements. There is no glory whatsoever in conscious and unconscious imitation of the West. The West is looking to India for spiritual guidance. And must we on our part fail to provide it and instead exhibit this slavish westernisation that is so uncharacteristic of our race? It is simply distasteful, disgusting deculturisation!

SWAMIJI'S DREAM ... 1

SWAMIJI'S DREAM ... 1

Swamiji wanted national education to be the harmonic combination of Vedānta and science. I exhort the Ramakrishna Mission to promote original research by starting genuine scientific institutions like the

1) TATA INSTITUTE OF FUNDAMENTAL RESEARCH (MUMBAI)

2) INDIAN INSTITUTE OF SCIENCE (BENGALURU)

3) INDIAN ASSOCIATION FOR THE CULTIVATION OF SCIENCE (JADAVPUR, KOLKATA)

4) THE BOSE INSTITUTE (KOLKATA)

5) THE SAHA INSTITUTE (KOLKATA)

Also, the Ramakrishna Mission must open Vedic Universities for the study of Sanskrit, Prākrit, Pāli and all Sanātan scriptures and scriptures of the non-Vedic but Indic schools of thought like the Buddhist and the Jain.

Swamiji had also desired that Indians should rewrite their own history along their own scientifically trained understanding so that distorted European versions did not hide from us our glorious historical heritage and freed us from our slavish acceptance of biased European narratives which deprived us of feeling pride in ourselves. Here I exhort the Ramakrishna Mission to building an institution devoted to the discovery and rewriting of our true history.

COMMENTS GALORE ... 96

COMMENTS GALORE ... 96

Sugata Bose @Indic R : There is nothing called 'Political Islam' as such. It has been so named by Dr. Bill Warner to separate and emphasise Islam's purely political content. But truly Islam is political all the way. Therefore, softening it by segmenting it as 'Non-political Islam' and 'Political Islam' may serve the cause of euphemism but is misleading in the sense that it does not reveal Islam's real nature, that of force and power over those within and beyond its pale. A cursory glance through the Qur'an itself will validate this assertion. A proselytising faith that converts by persuasion, perversion and powerplay cannot be deemed anything but totally political in its content and intent, especially when global domination is its stated agenda with divine injunction inspiring and impelling it. Hence, a spade ought to be called a spade when there is as yet time to do so lest it turns into sword when the proverbial phrase will have opportunity no more to reinvent itself, for dissent by then will have been godsped to dozhak (hell).

Sugata Bose @Kapil Patil : Arey bhai, where are you now? Perched up still on your vegetative watchtower?

Sugata Bose @Kapil Patil : All over in Bengal. Just come over and be our guest.

Sugata Bose @Bharat Ojha : The Government of West Bengali should do likewise, buy one lakh copies of Swami Vivekananda's patriotic works in the Bengali language published from Udbodhan publication division or a specially published version from Belur Math and distribute them among the police, the administrative officers, and the students. Let it do so forthwith with fullest cooperation from the Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission who shall surely welcome the move. 🕉

Sugata Bose @Partho Sarodi :

Sugata Bose @Ritabhari Chakraborty : Forget not, my child, that youth and beauty are ephemeral things and will vanish with time. But things of the Spirit, spiritual realisations, abide forever. I say unto you this because you are at heart a lustrous soul full of possibilities that are not yet so apparent but whose pulsations you sure feel if even in fleeting moments of extreme joy or sadness when the limits of material life are momentarily transcended by the rising soul to touch the outer realm of the Self within. That Self (Ātman) you are whose resplendence in spectral dispersion gushes forth as this loveliness of flesh and form all too divine still. Look within, my child, and feel the glory therein. Thou art the sea, not the billows beauteous in their rise and fall. May Sri Ramakrishna bless you ever and ever! 🕉

Sugata Bose @YouTube [Stand Tall Israel--Āyān Hirsi Āli] : There is nothing called Islamism. It is a concoction of the West. Islam is Islam. And Āyān Hirsi Āli knows this better than most. Yet, she subscribes to Western narratives. Such are the pressures of circumstance, such the compromises made where service to humanity is coupled with service to self. Thd discerning mind reads the situation adeptly and comes to conclusions thereof.

Sugata Bose @Debaprasad Bhattacharya : If the Government does not, let Belur Math do it. But here also it will be a cry on my part in the wilderness, a more bitter cry perhaps and with even less sympathetic response. After all they are busy singing and dancing now to the oblivion of the coming oblivion that awaits us, courtesy the progressive Islamisation of West Bengal's polity if the current state of perfidious politics at the state level and the exhibited effeminacy on the part of the Mission monastics starting from the highest level to lowest rank and file continues. Being of an active nature, even aggressive with a missionary zeal that I am, I will personally take up the task of distributing free these 100,000 copies of Vivekananda's works among the youth of Bengal. Ramakrishna Mission charges exhorbitantly for the printed books in exquisite editions these days. I will distribute cheap editions like I have done all my life free. This I pledge today and I shall not die till it is done. So, help me Thakur! 🕉

Sugata Bose @Debaprasad Bhattacharya : Thank you. Together we devotees can pull it off.

Sugata Bose @Riya Bhattacharya : Grand beginning. Keep it up. Mission Vivekananda.

Sugata Bose @Sue Shannon : Not at all. It is a beginningless, endless phenomenal manifestation as the Vedas say---'Anādi srishty, ananta srishty.'

Sugata Bose @Viswarup A R : So long as capitalism exploits the masses, leftists will thrive. No amount of repression can eliminate them as they owe their existence to a philosophy, albeit materialistic, that gives voice to the mute millions that are ground to the dust by the combined power of state and capital, and one that draws sustenance from the disgruntlement of the exploited masses. No one these days speaks against the silent blood-sucking machinery of capitalism but instead quite conveniently align themselves with its inhuman depredation of wealth at the cost of labour, compromising with the corruption of capitalism all the way. The demise of communism in the world has not seen the end of leftist politics which is still flourishing across the world and is raising its voice of protest, albeit with its specific political agenda, often nefarious, against the exploitative powers that be.

That leftists resorts to all sorts of subversive activities is well known, historically chronicled and has been our experience during the pre-Partition days, the Sino-Indian war of 1962 and their attempted blockade of national development both industrially and militarily (refer to the Nuclear programme of the Government of India), their subversive alignment with Islam against Hindutva being of recent incident, especially over the last few decades.

Islam and communism have a few things in common. Both believe in the rule of force and both are international movements with total domination of the world as their stated goal. They make cater-cousins thus, despite they being philosophically radically apart. Here we have a dual problem to deal with and we need well-thought out deliberations on it to arrive at comprehensive solutions rather than self-indulgent effusion merely venting our frustration. 🕉

Sugata Bose @Shyamacharan Pandey : But this narrative will be deemed incomplete by devotees of Bhagavanji about which you may learn from them. Plenty of material in this regard available on YouTube.

Sugata Bose @Kaushani Chatterjee: Kaushani, barring the sparse quotations, the rest were penned straight from the soul addressed at you, post receiving your request for epistle.

Sugata Bose @Debaprasad Bhattacharya : Spread Shuddhidanandaji's video. Make it go viral. The defence of Hindus makes it a move imperative.

Sugata Bose @Kapil Patil : Wielding a gun but afraid of infection. Truly Islamic. Will not allow even a virtuous virus of polytheistic faiths challenge his God's singular sovereignty. They shirk from 'shirk' (partnering of 'The God') and we shirk from them. The barrel though befriends the twain with its fired bullets but the direction of projectile is uncertain as youths like these, weaned away from healthy living to hoor-hopes in heaven, count their days and hours before their toxic moments on earth are spent and they are fast forwarded onto the opposite end, that of hell of healing experience before reincarnation replaces toxic faith with a more fertile philosophy and renders life wholesome. To rectification of error here on earth, friend, lest the unhappy narrative become reality. 🕉

Sugata Bose @Kapil Patil : But you are Rāmbhakt. As part of the vānarsenā you should fight. Why only watch from treetop?

Sugata Bose @Bolaka Roy : Forgive the off-tune Pandit Bhimsen Joshi who, despite  being a legendary khayāl singer, hardly ever sang to tune, devoid as he was presumably of a finer musical ear that would allow him differentiation between tunefulness and off-tuneness.

The second song is typically the effeminate Bengali version of current musical culture full of soft sentimentality and superficial frothy elation exhibited in catchy tunes hardly masculine or throbbing with a modicum of Upanishadic strength. This is the bane of Bengal that has become a land of effeminate men who can only sing and dance and die for sense-gratification, a trend Swamiji had lived and died to change but in vain. The crass sense-culture which is the sure sign of civilisational death continues.

Sugata Bose @Parnika Bubna : Advay has singular focus, great body balance and equilibrium of mind that allows him harmonic movement. This helped him to win the race and he will the race of life as well because of this fluid working of mind and body. Evidently he is a nation-builder and one in the final phase of transmigratory terrestrial life. You are ratnagarbhā (jewel wombed).

Sugata Bose @Jayanta Bhattacharjee : Monumental task to be fulfilled over God knows how long a period but the audacious aspiration is such. (Reference: the free distribution of 100,000 Vivekananda books among the youth of West Bengal)

Sugata Bose @Sulekha Basu :

Sugata Bose @Raja Bhattacharjee : Love for the lion makes the deer lose its life. Let it. What do you say? How about the Ramakrishna Mission teaching the fanatical Muslims a bit of that fabled love for the Hindus, say, for instance, in Bangladesh, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Kashmir, Kerala, Assam and West Bengal. Ramakrishna Mission need not teach the civilised world love. They have love enough. Let them go into war zones like Ukraine, Gaza and the like and preach peaceful piety. That would be humanity indeed, spirituality at its very best. 🕉

Sugata Bose @Aditi Sen Chattopadhyay : To remain hanging till the lion and the crocs die of frustration.

Sugata Bose @

Sugata Bose @

Srijan Pal Singh : Still remains ordinary because it is a matter of perspective as to what 'ordinary' is. Nobel Prize is merely a human recognition as to things apparently brilliant. The real brilliance is, though, of the polonium and the radium that Nature in nuclear mode spontaneously keeps splitting to emit alpha, beta, gamma rays, although Nature Herself is perhaps oblivious of these name that 'brilliant' humanity has ascribed to these.

Sugata Bose @Subash Dhar : Then what was the deal about? Didn't you see the basic content of the post or were you ultra-hasty in response as per predetermination?

Sugata Bose @Siddhartha Sankar Chakraborty : I was asking how we may bring Swamiji home to school children? You may begin the work with your local schools. The question is what ought to be the modus operandi to do so.

Sugata Bose @Sanjeev Shrivastava : Not a bad idea at all. I am going to ask my associates to do so. Help me in this endeavour by yourself initiating the work. I will surely assist you by sending you Vivekananda's writings if you so desire.

Sugata Bose @Dipankar Biswas : Very good suggestion. But inclusion in syllabus isn't within our capacity to execute. I was unclear in my post having generalised the whole thing. Now on editing it, I have been specific about my intent. Accordingly I need suggestions please.

Sugata Bose @Subhrajyoti Bhowmick : But the government keeps on bragging about its 4th spot GDP overall and cleverly keeps silent on the 122nd or 144th spot (data differs) Per Capita GDP.

Sugata Bose @Parnika Bubna : Those who fail to recognise their Guru in time, demean him unduly, they are destined to losing their Guru. And with it they lose the golden opportunity to advance their spiritual life.

I will completely cut you off if you behave like this. Do not forget the fire and the ire within me.

Sugata Bose @Rohini Jalan : I have vowed I will not die till I have distributed afresh 100,000 copies of Swamiji-related books among the people of West Bengal. Earlier in my life I have distributed well over a thousand books of the Ramakrishna-Vivekananda genre. Now this is a fresh venture, rather an ambitious one. But then I am a fool, and, as the saying goes, 'fools rush in where angels fear to tread.' I will as yet burst upon society like a bombshell, to copy-quote Swamiji's words. Rohini, if only you knew how much I love my motherland! Swamiji has entered my bloodstream.

Sugata Bose @Debapeasad Bhattacharya : Well, they (RKM) are not open to suggestions from devotees like us or even discussion. Perhaps, they can make alongside a huge fund from devotee-donation which will aid this movement towards proper payment of employees. But raising the fee has to be done as far as practicable and with proper exceptions for poor students. The main thing however is empathy which, being monastics of little personal requirement by way of temperament and by vocation, they evidently lack. I could be wrong in my assessment, though, but from my personal experience and association with monks, this is my strong feeling.

Sugata Bose @Parnika Bubna : Parnika, I am alive still. Won't be forever. Take what you can, the best of me, before I shut shutters.

Sugata Bose @Nabanita C Ganguly : You must. Because you have that leonine strength, that firepower in you which on thorough study of Swamiji will increase immensely in intensity.

Sugata Bose @Kapil Patil : Bring your foreign friend along. He fights well---karate.

Sugata Bose @Soumitra Banerjee :

Sugata Bose @Disciple : You do not understand me nor do you appreciate my gifts enough. Alas, self-absorption is the bane of our current civilisational state! The river flows by unheeded while desires drive the desert storm.

Sugata Bose @Sarbari Sen :

Sugata Bose @Sandipan Biswas : The perception of truth, perhaps. No one is so sacrosanct that he must remain beyond the pale of legitimate criticism. If Ambedkar haa the right to criticise others, he has the right to rrceive criticism as well. Ought he to be denied such a right? 🕉

Sugata Bose @Soma Bhattacharjee : Of what avail is such passive piety that does not quicken the spirit to reduce the suffering of others?

Sugata Bose @Bolaka Roy : These types of videos cannot save our civilisation from destruction though. Unmanly representation of medieval compromise of the Bhakti Movement in India which dared not resist alien oppression, and the inertia through effeminate lineage carries on to this day. Swamiji was very much opposed to such sentimental soft culture, however apparently pleasing to the senses they may be. He invoked manhood in the people which unfortunately is still missing as people continue to pander to the vanities of the senses. This sort of soft bhakti is debilitating and can only weaken the race further into becoming even more what Swamiji charged Chaitanya Mahāprabhu as having done with his song and dance culture that in Swamiji's estimation had 'converted Bengali and Orissa (now Odisha) to a land of women.'

Sugata Bose @Saumak Podder : Saumak Podder Swami Vivekananda was of a different order of existence altogether, of a higher realm, the highest relativity that personality can aspire for while maintaining individual identity. In that almost undifferentiated zone where the Relative transits into the Absolute, that phase of phenomena where form melts and attributes become near existential, in that plane of superconsciousness abides the transcendental individual self of that being whose earthly incarnation was Swamiji. He was, in Sister Christine's estimation, far higher than any man of genius. Swamiji was simply nonpareil, a singular personality who had descended in our midst for a while, only to return to his real realm of near non-differentiation.

Tagore was another of those rare personalities, almost of mythical proportions, versatile beyond bounds, a la Da Vinci shorn of scientific attributes, a Wordsworth, Dickens, O'Henry, Shaw, Hazzlit, Goethe, Mozart, all combined harmoniously in a beautiful package, seamlessly woven into that wondrous poet about whom poetry alone can best eulogise, our Kālidās who had rejected Kāli though. That was owing to his Brāhmo bearings which is inconsequential in our discussion here. But he was, to quote Rolland, 'Quelle harmony!' Will such a one ever be again?

Sharatchandra was the pen of the people, the voice of the mute millions, the literary lion who could raise resistance against colonial consequence through his revolutionary novel 'Pawther Dābi' and had to bear British ban on his book in consequence. He had asked Tagore to intercede with the British on his behalf which the intelligent poet duly declined, finding the plea undue as the writer had knowingly incurred the wrath of administration and ought to be in the right spirit to bear the consequence. Of course, this has raised some controversy about Tagore's commitment to the nationalistic cause---which is puerile though, given his track record overall and his commitment to the cause of national education which he possibly could not compromise for even revolutionary political reasons---but the poet must have with his keen intelligence seen through it all how the British would refuse to budge from their stand even if such a seminal figure of world renown, a Nobel laureate et al like Tagore requested them to do so. Sharatchandra, though, in effect turned out to be the legatee of Bankimchandra about whom we shall next deliberate. These minor differences of perception and position perhaps apart, the relation between the two literary lions of Bengal remained affable throughout, reverence from the younger Sharat towards the poet patriarch and affection freely flowing from the sage of Shantiniketan towards the one that had by now become the voice of the voiceless.

But Sharatchandra did dare the British and so did Bankimchandra dare the civilisational enemies of Sanātan Bhāratvarsha in his British-banned novel 'Ānanda Math' whose 'Vande Mātaram' became the clarion call of the revolutionaries and the martyrs to the motherland's freedom till under unfortunate circumstances the song was relegated to secondary prominence behind the National Anthem in 'Janagana mana' and the revolutionary slogan sadly replaced by 'Jai Hind' of more universal national acceptance but evoking less spiritual fervour. Here again Tagore had been the first prominent figure to have pointed out the pronouncedly Hindu identity evident in the now National Song, then simply 'Vande Mātaram' being deliberated upon for being the emblematic song of the emerging free nation. Tagore, thus, long-lived and creatively active that he was, a revered figure even among the titans of the day in the national sphere, individuals who were the leading lights of the day who sought the poet's guidance in times of larger emotional crisis as was battered and betrayed Subhas Chandra in 1939, Gandhi, unable to cut the country's Gordian knot, Nehru and the like. Bankimchandra predated Tagore but had recognised the young eagle's mettle as he put his garland of honour as 'Sāhitya Samrāt' round Bhanusingha Thakur's neck in 1877 as his heir apparent. Straddling the decades, eight in number, from post-Mutiny (really the First War of Indian Independence) 1860s to pre-Partition 1940s, Tagore held as if the life-breath of Bengal's culture, even national culture by way of segmented extension, throughout his long life. Swamiji was more national in the truest sense of the term, being grounded in his Rishi realisations so very fundamental to national lure down the ages, but Rabindranath was the epitome of the 'Sundaram' principle that forms the symmetrical third base of national existence. How fortunate we are to have been the inheritors of such legacy, how much more ought to be our study of these seminal sages of epic significance!

Syamaprasad Mookerjee was another leonine son of Bengal but for whom West Bengal would never have been, as the Jinnah-Sohrawardy combine was plotting to integrate Kolkata as capital city of the eastern wing of the proposed Pakistan which would effectively gobble up the whole of West Bengal into it. It was the valiant resistance of this leonine son of the 'Tiger of Bengal' (Sir Ashutosh Mookerjee) that saved the day. He (Syamaprasad) was an astute observer of politics, academically proficient that he was, erudite and an orator par excellence which despite radical ideological differences drew the admiration of no less a communist than Hiren Mukerjee, a fellow freedom fighter and Parliamentarian of prodigious knowledge on varied subjects including the Sanātan scriptures, a thorough grounding in Sanskrit, hailing as he was from a family of Sanskritists, his (Hiten Mukerjee's) father having first bifurcated path by prewriting the speeches of Surendranath Banerjee which the latter later delivered in public. Such a one as Hiren Mukerjee, the doyen of Indian communists, a loyalist of the Soviet-led communist revolution of October-November, 1917, a thorough gentleman of universal intellectual appreciation and catholic sympathies while remaining a thoroughbred communist, praised Syamaprasad Mookerjee in effusive terms.

Syamaprasad resigned from the Hindu Mahasabha and post-independence formed his own political party called the 'Bhāratiya Jana Sangha' which later metamorphosed into the 'Bhāratiya Janatā Party' which in 'National Democratic Alliance' has been ruling the country for the past eleven years. Syamaprasad's differences with Nehru in the national cabinet induced his resignation and the founding of his own party. His vehement cry for the integration of Jammu and Kashmir fully to the rest of India via the scrapping of Articles 370 and 35A cost him his life amidst terribly unfortunate circumstances but saw its fulfilment in 2019 when the said Articles were finally scrapped. "Ek desh mey do vidhān, do pradhān aur do nishhān nahi chalenge, nahi chalenge, nahi chalenge"---this was Mookerjee's clarion call as he in 1953 entered Jammu and Kashmir without permit, never to return alive. But he had set the ball of national integration rolling which gained fulfilment almost seven decades later in 2019. Syamaprasad's soul animates the atmosphere of both Bengal and India and his legacy lives on.

These were all seminal figures in the history of modern Bengal and we can only profit from studying their lives and their works. They tirelessly worked for the freedom of the motherland from bit only colonial shackles but from all sorts of iniquities that beset the great civilisation in its perilous precipitous state. At this length of time from when they were alive and working out the salvation of India, their mutual differences fade into insignificance and all that remains is their larger impact on this grand country, the mother of civilisations.

Today, especially on the sesquicentennial anniversary of the birth of 'Vande Mātaram' (7 November, 1875 -- 7 November, 2025), we remember Bankimchandra Chattopadhyay with special pride as the harbinger of freedom, as the inspirer of its mūlamantra ('Vande Mātaram), as the composer of the song proper which reduced in size and content has been hailed somewhat indifferently as the National Song, playing a poor second fiddle to Tagore's 'Jana gana mana' and sadly so, for it was the 'Vande Mātaram' that had fired up the national imagination and set its spirit soaring along the path of service and sacrifice unto securing freedom from colonial consequence. Bankimchandra not only read national peril in the presence of the British on Indian soil but also the more camouflaged corruption of national culture in the continued presence of alien theocratic toxicity in Islam. In this latter reading he outwitted his gullible naive contemporaries who fantasized the impossible fraternity between Indian Muslims and Hindus but who were in their blind assessment eminently wrong. The novel 'Ānanda Math' was a literary work of revolutionary message which was widely banned by the British and permanently kept out of circulation during the Rāj. That Jinnah's opposition in 1937 to the 'Vande Mātaram' song being assigned the rank of National Anthem was yielded to by the Congress High Command was shameful, utterly contrary to historical precedence across the world and a compromised capitulation in the eventual relegation of second place to it behind 'Jana gana mana' evidently to appease the Indian Muslims whose allegiance to their faith (Dīn) was clearly more than that to their country. Furthermore, in 1943 Netaji at Abid Hassan's suggestion adopted 'Jai Hind' as the National Greeting which put 'Vande Mātaram' into cold storage.

Sugata Bose @Partha Bose : It is a great honour, a momentous occasion, an epic moment in your career. May Mā Sarasvati descend on your soul and form tomorrow at the right time that you may carry the audience with exhilarating music!

YOURS ISN'T THE ONLY WAY BUT JUST ONE AMONG THE MANY

YOURS ISN'T THE ONLY WAY BUT JUST ONE AMONG THE MANY

Fanaticism always temporarily wins but loses to liberalism in the end, the end though coming ages hence when selfishness has  given way to comprehension of the collective scheme of things in its radial flow of diverse elements to the common core of consciousness. Till such vision of the whole opens up, this selfish sight of personal end keeps up the narrow conviction that one's own line of advancement is the only path and all else is erroneous and worthy of at its best toleration and at its worst destruction. Great prophets of successful unilinear religious advancement have faltered here and faulted all else as false, leading to fanatical following fuelling hatred on earth in the name of faith. Here the Vedānta comes to the rescue of all by liberalising conception of the core common consciousness and setting fanatics free of their fetters of faith which even if food for them are poison for others of a different orientation of mind. Ramakrishna is the personified ideal of that Vedānta in this Age and must be duly studied and in depth interpreted to release humanity of its constraining conceptions and of its confining conditions that like prison cells have partitioned what ought to have been, and what deep down is, freely flowing life, the Spirit in unfettered flow. Ramakrishna is the illustration of this wonderful principle of universalism that the Vedānta philosophically hints at, for theory is not reality but its verbal representation, the reality transcendent being realised only in samādhi with its practical demonstration visible in its personification in the Avatār. The Vedānta is the theory, the Avatār is the way and Brahman is the goal, sounding as the 🕉 endlessly at the junction of the Unmanifest and the Manifest, ordering phenomenal flow in opposite directions, from the One to the Many and from the Many to the One.

THE DEFENCE OF HINDUISM ... 1

THE DEFENCE OF HINDUISM ... 1

How can a person become a Muslim or a Christian by conversion? One has to do so by conviction. And getting brainwashed is not being rationally convinced.

Human beings are different from animals in that they can think rationally, experiment and experience. This is how science has developed and this is how religion ought to have developed as well. Faith plays no role whatsoever in the structuring of science and ought not to do so in the case of religion also. But the Abrahamic religions are faith all the way from origin to terminus. The Sanātan Dharma is not so. Its method is quite like the empirical sciences---rational, experimental and intuitive.

The undue absolute insistence on faith in unique revelations of special personages called prophets is indicative of the fact that Abrahamic affirmations and injunctions are entirely matters of faith of little value in the light of reality as it is and cannot stand the test of reason which for them to be deemed true, they must undergo the rigour of. The Sanātan Dharma, on the other hand, right from early inception has been remarkably rational before it reached its highest heights in experiential transrationality which nonetheless was in harmony with enlightened reason free of fallacious counterargument. Centuries of rational inquiry, experimentation and introspection led to a vast mass of sensuous and supersensuous findings which became the body of the Vedas and the Vedāngas, reaching its summit of realisations in the Vedānta or the Upanishads. External analysis of Nature it began with but ended in the analysis internal of the mind before culminating in the discovery of the Spirit or the Self of man, in Sanskrit called the Ātman, which also is the foundational basis of all phenomena and is called Brahman. The most brilliant averment of the Upanishad 'Ayam Ātma Brahma' ('Ayamātma Brahma'---'This Ātman is Brahman') was no less brilliant an equation than E = mc², the equivalence of energy and mass.

Ignorance of the Dharma is causing Hindus to be trapped by the Abrahamic conversion network which sufficient training should surely teach them to stay clear of. We need elementary Sanskrit schools where the language in its rudimentary form will be taught along with some amount of scriptural study. Knowledge of one's own spiritual culture empowers one to defend one's cultural-civilisational status and not to forsake it at the drop of a hat, be it an Islamic hat, a Christian hat or a Communist hat.

Self-hatred of the educated elite Hindus is a disease coming from the West and this must be effectively countered. This leftist orientation, this western modernity shorn of character and enduring civilisational substance, is eating into the vitals of the nation and ought to be intellectually and culturally fought off for the Sanātan culture to survive and flourish.

Another conversion trap is that of marriage. When a Hindu marries a Muslim, he/she is invariably converted to Islam as for a Muslim it is divinely mandated that he/she cannot marry a non-Muslim. In the case of a Hindu marrying a Christian, even if the Hindu is not converted to Christianity, more often than not the offspring are baptised into Christianity. That Hindus allow this ease of self-conversion into the Abrahamic fold is less out of liberalism and more out of loss of Hindu character owing to lack of dhārmic knowledge and sufficient affiliation to the Hindu fold. Does not Krishna exhort Arjun, "Svadharmey nidhanam shreya paradharma bhayāvaha" which in wider civilisational implication would also mean that it is better to die within the fold of one's own faith but terrible to accept another's, that is, conversion is terrible and worse than death, for unlike the death of the body in the former case, it is death of the soul?

KĀLI! KĀLI! KĀLI!

KĀLI! KĀLI! KĀLI!

Unless a person is absolutely pure and is masculine enough, he cannot be an effective instrument of the Divine in his bid to defend Sanātan Dharma and Sanātanis. Therefore, purity is the precondition to preaching. And an abundance of manifested manhood is the mode. Else, effeminacy mars the message and fails to inspire vigour and valour in the youth of the nation.

We have had enough of sentimental nonsense masquerading as devotion, a plethora of puerile preaching of the principles of the Vedanta that the preacher practises not nor dares to deliver like Krishna in the thick of battle, preferring instead the sanctuary of superpower station to dish out scriptural dole of no consequence while Punyabhumi Bhāratvarsha progressively sinks into potential balkanisation consequent on the growing Islamisation of the nation. Sanātan Dharma and Sanātanis need direction practical to protect their interests and not cartloads of theoretical speculation that could not prevent Partition after all.

Kāli Pūja demands severed heads of Her devotees, not in metaphorical terms but in real physical terms, much like Swamiji had in like terms exhorted, "Buddhās by the thousands will have to be sacrificed. Sacrifice has been the law in the past and sacrifice, alas, shall be the law for ages to come. The earth's bravest and best will have to be sacrificed." And out of such valorous exhortation rose a million martyrs to the motherland's freedom from colonial shackles.

In Srinagar, Kashmir, Swamiji composed in divine inspiration 'Kali the Mother', more a spontaneous overflow of spiritual emotion in words and less of a cogitated composition in metre. In this famous dedication to the Primordial Power of countless universes Swamiji invoked the Devi of Destruction and laid down his head to be severed and strung in Her garland of skulls. Swamiji invoked the Terrible, the Mother of all terror, Terror Herself, in his bravest worship of Mahāmāyā who rules all. He, thus, set before his followers the template of devotion, of knowledge, of work and of communion---the worship of the Terrible. The Vedic worship in vigorous, valourous terms was thus set alive amidst the morass of materialistic degeneration then extant as devotion, so feeble that it dared to sing and dance but dared not challenge the oppressive powers that be that had held humanity down.

This Kāli Pūja night let us revisit that fateful night of reckoning for Swamiji when he swooned in divine ecstasy the moment the last lines of his poem had been penned and fell to the floor in superconscious oblivion of earthly surroundings. Let us then pledge to be worthy infantry of this leonine General, Swami Vivekananda, upon whom was laid the charge of resurrecting humanity by the Master of the universe, Mā Kāli Herself in Her earthly incarnation. 🕉
