Then there is hope to begin with, for the devil of division will still persist, assuming newer modes. But this as of now must be done---a national narrative where there will be a least common denominator for all to subscribe to.

Puerile preaching of philosophy hardly helps for it merely excites the idle curiosity of the lay person or at best weakly stimulates the mind of the intellectual but patently fails to transform human nature. It is all words in the end, idle words in an endless deliberation on the spiritual end of life, hollow words without substance of character lending them wholeness. Thus is it that spiritual lectures, insipid and uninspiring, fail to penetrate the depth-consciousness of the audience to any aspired end.
