THE ROAD TO RUIN OR REDEMPTION ... 2

The problem with the world is that hardly anyone dares to 'face the brute' as Swamiji said one should. Nearly all wish to hide behind a facade of nicety even if they are well aware of the wickedness that threatens them, the doctrinal dastardliness that creates disharmony and deliberate violence the world over.

We as a nation have suffered a millenium of persecution till our national life has well nigh been reduced to a feeble existence of sorts with our pristine civilisation much contaminated and perverted by proselytising cults that have sapped its erstwhile vitality and continues to do so. Our reforms have been reactionary, our progress impeded, thwarted by contrary cultures emanating from alien lands, and our civilisational identity blurred and blighted.

For well over a millennium we have been undoing the damage done even as fresh inroads and assaults continue to wreck us from within and without. Swamiji has said that harmony eventually shall be but it shall be the resolution of clashes and conflicts whereby a strong nation will emerge to recover its heritage and shower its spiritual blessings on the whole of humankind. We await such a development even as we work towards it. But, to reiterate, few, alas, dare to catch the bull by the horns and tame it or overcome its aggressive thrust. Most are too weak, too cowardly to combat the evil that has bedevilled us for so long.
