Sugata Bose @Sharmistha Chatterjee : Proceed slowly but surely towards God-realisation. Advancement (Charaiveti) is the key. Life after life this baggage of body-mind holding the soul seemingly in the captivity of ignorance must be got rid of. This is the grand goal towards which we are all advancing and often going backward as well. This is the human body, the highest chance to see Him who is the one unchanging subject in an eternally changing objective world. So, make utmost effort to see Him who is the source of all knowledge, all peace and all bliss, the beautiful beloved enshrined in the heart of hearts in the depths of our being. 🕉

Sugata Bose @Bejoy Bandopadhyay : The child here in this photograph does not seem to be Satyajit Ray because Tagore here is in his late seventies and Ray is just a child, and yet Ray was much older when Tagore was as old as he looks here. It must be some other child.

Sugata Bose @Henry D'Almeida : Nonetheless, everything said and done, we ought to advance in the right direction and one such measure in regard to it, and a significant one at that, must be to popularise Sanskrit. The country's heritage and culture must not be lost to the people and Sanskrit holds the key to preserving it, for it is the preserve of it.

Sugata Bose @Jisnu Bhattacharya : Shameful denial of TAKA MATI MATI TAKA. Lajja! Nirlajja arthalipsa!

Sugata Bose @Vidya K : Marriage often results in conversion. Hindus quite conveniently convert when cross-religious marriage dictates conversion as condition. Subsequently, the offspring from such marriage become Muslims or Christians, so obliterating the Hindu lineage. Hindu father--Christian mother=Christian children; Hindu mother--Christian father=Christian children; Hindu father--Muslim mother=Mulim father and Muslim children; Hindu mother--Muslim father=Muslim mother and Muslim children. This is the way it goes. Besides this there is monetary inducement and academic advantages offered by missionaries to convert to Christianity. Such conversions are done voluntarily as well by opportunistic Hindus eager to secure easy advantage. We must create schools to outmatch Christian missionary schools.

Sugata Bose @Deep Mukherjee : Unconcerned they are and unconcerned they'll remain, for literacy and learning, religiosity and spirituality, patriotism and piety are all well-nigh absent in a polity that is famished, wounded as the civilisation is from a millenium of alien oppression.

Sugata Bose @Parnika Bubna : Good morning goes out with good wishes. Whether wishes count or not depends on the individual of course. But a wave of goodwill, may it extend to all as life rolls on in its expansive phase. As Swamiji says, "Expansion is life, contraction death."

Sugata Bose @Parnika Bubna : Read, read, read. Fulfil your intellectual promise.

Sugata Bose @Sinchan Som : Reverence and love, that which is due to all mothers, exceeding which is due to the golden womb whence have sprung three golden sons, Narendranath Datta (Swami Vivekananda), Mahendranath Datta and Bhupendranath Datta.

Sugata Bose @Deep Mukherjee : Which is why Swamiji said, "Unselfishness is God." So, let us be unselfish.

Sugata Bose @Dalia Nandy : The nation needs to be raised. I am fine in so far as our motherland is fine. Hope you are doing alright. But I hope you are not mistaking me for the grandnephew of Netaji which I am not.

Sugata Bose @Dalia Nandy : That is good. I must say you are a highly sympathetic soul who has sought to know about my well-being which few bother to do, and I must offer my gratitude and good wishes unto you for that. May Thakur-Ma-Swamiji bless you!

Sugata Bose @Debashish Paul : To read Vivekananda is also to know the truth about all the major world religions and not to live in gullible ignorance about the intent of the proselytising Abrahamic cults.

Sugata Bose @Sita Babu : I agree. Also, these appeals lead to donations by devotees far less well-off than the organisations that claim to be deficient in funds. This is how over decades and centuries spiritual organisations accumulate wealth while the givers of such are gradually reduced to penury.

Sugata Bose @Jagat Prasad Dash : Mythology gives moral lessons and must be absorbed but mythological literalistic reading of history must be rejected. Understand the intent of the post well.

Sugata Bose @Jagat Prasad Dash : But people are literally made to believe that this is how the universe evolved, which is a patent falsity in so far as discovered scientific truths are concerned.

Sugata Bose @Samarbijoy Chakraborty : This is the inevitability of Islamic proliferation. History amply testifies to it. Bangladesh, originally East Pakistan, was carved out of undivided India on communal lines and now the movement has come full circle. Is this not what their historical destiny deserves to be en route to massive cultural disaster as is being evidenced increasingly?

Sugata Bose @Jagat Prasad Dash : He did spread the Sanatan Dharma for sure, the Vedanta in all its deepest implications and extensive operative potentialities. Where in the post has it been expressed that the religion spread by Swamiji was specifically 'his own', that is, founded by him, so to say? You misread the intent of the post as you have elsewhere done as well to which I have duly responded. Swamiji used to say, "In our country people tend to fight over the crust of things and care not to read deep into the core. In the West this would be highly offensive if people did so. They ignore the surface of things and take the inner intent of a statement."

Sugata Bose @Jayanta Bhattacharjee : So it does. Buy there are apologists galore for superstition as well which slows down the country's progress. However, conservatism also has its flip-side advantage in that it preserves heritage and prevents the undue overthrow of time-honoured traditions. Problem is where mythical misreading of history becomes the modern discourse that strays from the original scientific approach of the Vedic civilisation, garbing it in Puranic interpretation and attempting to pass it off as the truth even if it is in strong divergence from discovered scientific truth. This hinders national progress. The polity must be rationalised and trained to look upon the past with reverence but not blind acceptance of every statement that is recorded in scripture even when they radically differ from scientific truths duly discovered.

Sugata Bose @Biswadip Biswas : The idea is that spiritual organisations must not lose their primary focus on spirituality and must not degenerate to becoming commercial corporations.

Sugata Bose @Madhavendra Singh Tomar : In Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission they do not observe Punyatithi (Mahasamadhi Day), as far as I know.

Sugata Bose @Deep Mukherjee : Yes, indeed. The Upanishads are, though, the concluding and climactic part of the Vedas themselves.

Sugata Bose @Sreedharan Kallithodiyil : Capitalism, demography and their concomitant evils have a dominant say in today's world.

Sugata Bose @Arunangshu Mandal : Ever the tragic tale of life's fairest flowers. Nazia Hassan of Qurbani film fame lay in rest at only 35 years. (03. 04. 1965 -- 13. 08. 2000)

Sugata Bose @Student : Stick to the normal routine in future. That is the most convenient time for good teaching. Abrupt changes to suit convenience are of lesser avail if even agreed upon on request. The best tuition is possible only when the rhythm of normalcy is maintained.

Sugata Bose @Jayanta Bhattacharjee : Yes, indeed. Sometimes the mood catches on, circumstances triggering ideas, energy overflowing and metamorphosing into volcanic words, and love for motherland finding expression in uncompromising terms.

Sugata Bose @Deep Mukherjee: That's the point. What about him? (Gandhiji)

Now read more and realise the real text of it. There lies the test which you must with credit clear. (Reference is to reading more about Gandhiji.)

Sugata Bose @Deep Mukherjee : And Vedanta preaches Me.

Sugata Bose @Arunangshu Mandal : Lovely! But Netaji had called Gandhiji so well before the birth of Pakistan.

Sugata Bose @Arunangshu Mandal : In regard to Islam Gandhiji's stance was clear. Any problems the Muslims had about their religious culture was their internal matter to be solved by them on their own.

Sugata Bose @Debashish Paul : 'Discolouration' would be, to my mind, the accurate single-word translation. Discolouration means disenchantment with the manifold sensory universe in all its spectral manifestation deluding the soul into identification with it, the universe of the senses including both the external physical one perceivable by the five senses and the internal subtler one perceivable by the mind. 'Raag' means 'colour' as well as 'love'. Hence, 'vairagya' means 'discolouration' as well as 'the conscious giving up of love', that is, 'detachment'.

Sugata Bose @A drooping soul : You are the numero uno in every sphere, in every skill, in every movement of life. Think of this always. Remember your inherent greatness. Let the call of the Atman awaken you from this dreadful earthly slumber. What is life? Infinite life awaits each one, ready for reception at one's doorstep, and yet man sleeps. Isn't it strange? And this is Maya. Reject it and arouse a mighty power within yourself. Remove the barriers and break free. Yours is this universe to inherit, yours all that you survey. Be not limited to this little frame, this frog-in-a-well consciousness. You are the ever-free, the never-bound source of everything and upon you has been gifted the boon to build yourself and build this motherland of ours. Make a grand success of it. You won't fail to deliver for it is your destiny to deliver thus. I see a grand future, a lustrous, luminous, brilliant one. My blessings ever attend on you and unconditionally forever!

Sugata Bose @Rinita Mazumdar : These rock carvings have been called degenerate by Swamiji and dubbed the legacy of declining Buddhism during its great fall following left-handed Tantric worship of the most abominable kind. Swamjji has strongly disagreed with these sexually explicit sculpture as being representative of our Sanatan culture where purity and sublimity have always been regarded the signature attributes of civilisation.

Sugata Bose @Rinita Mazumdar: Of course we have to accept Swamiji's words based upon historical study and the seer's realisation as truth. He is not anybody and everybody but the Yugacharya, the spiritual guide of all Sanatanis for the age and for ages to come. Tantra has three phases. They are the divine, the human and the animal. Degenerate Buddhism had filled Aryavarta with the lowest and most horrible carnality in the name of Buddhist Tantra. Which is why Adi Shankaracharya arose to cleanse Bharatvarsha of such degeneracy. But historical inertia and enveloping sensual Maya continued to have its sway. Hence, the degenerate representation of religious practice in rock after submerging the land in real in such fleshly practices. The legacy continues till date in terms of weakening impulses of the past paralysing the present-day polity. This is also why Swami Dayananda Saraswati gave his extreme clarion call of 'Back to the Vedas'. From Shankaracharya's times, Swamiji says, we have been recovering our lost heritage and the work is still going on. A thorough study of 'The Complete Works of Swami Vivekananda', especially the 'Lectures from Colombo to Almora', is vital for the revitalisation of the Hindus snd the resuscitation of our culture and civilisation. 🕉

Sugata Bose @Dipak Dey : Chaitanya Mahaprabhu said it, likened establishment in fame as in pig excreta.

No, success in the sense of communication is definitely the objective of writing my messages, not any personal achievement in that as such. But reader response is poor and, hence, it seems an utter failure.

Sugata Bose @Rinita Mazumdar : Sign of cultural degeneracy, not art.

Sugata Bose @Pulak Routh : Your devotion for Swamiji is matchless---pure, simple, innocent, truly emanating from a loving heart. ❤ī¸

Sugata Bose @Indibar Gurdas Mukherjee : Yes, multinationalism with American solo dominance destroying nation after nation.

Sugata Bose @Indibar Gurdas Mukherjee : Yes, Soviet Russia for sure. Not so much China as yet, in neo-imperial terms a far cry from both USA and Soviet Russia.

Sugata Bose @Saikat Goswami : Swamiji himself had wanted to set up a Ramakrishna ashram in the Kashmir Valley on s plot of land offered him by the Maharaja of Jammu-Kashmir but was prevented by thd British from doing so. The wily British were even then intent on sowing seeds of sectarian dissension among the people of India with a view to its future possible Balkanisation as and when historical circumstances would force the British to leave Indian shores.

Things changed after independence again. Nehruvian policy carried to perfection kept Kashmir backward through provision of Article 370 and Article 35A and the failure to with force subdue secessionist forces in the Valley. India's kid-glove treatment of Pakistan and electoral appeasement minority policies further complicated matters in the Valley which remained the hotbed of Islamic jihadi aggression threatening the break-up of the nation in its northern frontier. Ramakrishna Mission, ever an organisation that has played safe in its mission activities and stayed clear of all political trouble where it could, did not venture to open a second centre in the Valley. It must be granted that very often the situation as well was not conducive to doing so as well. I am not sure if the Government of India also would have allowed them to have done the same there. Anyhow, Articles 370 and 35A have now been abrogated and the Valley is set up for a new lease of life. It is moment opportune now to establish Swamiji's dream ashrama in this beautiful valley, the seat of Lord Shiva and veritably the abode of the gods, a sprawling second ashrama with its characteristic multifarious welfare activities. 🕉

Sugata Bose @Satyam Singham : Everything will happen in due course. The entire subcontinent will overflow with Thakur-Ma-Swamiji's loving grace. 🕉
