VIKASIT BHĀRAT IN 2047? ... 1
We need quality souls in India, not the overload of mediocrity and worse that is shifting the demographic balance and ruining public discourse that is the soul of democracy. There is an utter moral bankruptcy in our country today with corporates ruling defacto the nation and the government itself making commercial allowances to them to develop the nation. The deep divide between commoner and capitalist, despite a thriving upper middle class, with doles sustaining hundreds of millions, the ever-widening wealth gap, is by no means a wholesome aspect of a developing nation. The middle middle class and the lower middle class are being pushed down the socioeconomic ladder to merging with the poor and this is certainly a validation of Marxist theory which does not augur well for our country's future. The ever-increasing price of commodities and the consequent rising cost of living is weakening the nation. A nation thrives when its citizens en masse are empowered to live decent, healthy lives free of want. Today, the reverse is the case with a leadership deluded into believing that mere increase of overall GDP will take our country into the millennium. This is a puerile proposition and such chants by the leadership childish prattle which bear no substance. The government must reduce the terrible economic disparity between the rich and the poor, raise significantly the per capita GDP and ensure citizens' happiness before it can indulge in such grandiose posturing about India becoming a developed state (Vikasit Bhārat) by 2047. Inspirational talk, no doubt, motivating to many, but hollow within when one considers the real facts that after all will play out to determine India's future.
