Overall, though, the Swami is as usual sectionally comprehensive in his approach to the spiritual side of things and his 'matchstick' allusion is matchless. 97. Constancy of thought, serious, sincere depth of association even drives the Divine to descend. Dilution does not achieve what the concentrated essence of thought does. It is omnipotent. Advaita Acharya stands testimony to this power. His invocation drew the Divine to earth from his nectarine habitat in the sea of causation. The Divine performed austerity to manifest the universe. It is proof of the power of thought in its mightiest mode---constancy of concentration, fearless focus, undeflected attention overriding circumstantial barriers, hindering hurdles. May the mind's flow be in an unceasing current even as the flow of oil---tailadhārāvat!

Shame on spititual orders that can thus reduce their divine preceptors to earthly interest by making capital out of their austerity, yet compromising them on every count to suit current convenience. Whither spirituality? Every supporter of this divine degeneration is an equal culprit. It is their backing that allows this steady slide, this despicable downfall. Eliminated ideal weeps in silence.
