সংঘ যখন ভাবে মনে, 

"আমি হয়েছি শক্তিমান,"

সংঘ তখন হয়েছে দুর্বল |

অর্থে নহে শক্তি,

শক্তি আদর্শে,

তাহাতেই বল |

আদি বাণী ভুললে চলে ?

ওরে, আদিতেই চল |

জগতজুড়ে পেতেছে ফাঁদ,

ভুবনমোহন কল |

তোরা সেই ফাঁদে 

শেষে পড়লি নাকি ?

সত্যি করে বল |

এখনও আছে সময় ফেরার

দখিনমুখো চল |

ওই পরমহংসের ঘরটি জুড়ে

Who are to blame really? The malicious politicians who scheme out others' downfall and stir up controversy that would never in the first place gain ground without their active assistance, even intervention, or, the foolish commoners seeking attention and unable to restrain emotions preprogrammed by daily night time television ruckus? One wonders how long the gullible will continue to be influenced by crafty politicians seeking petty ends? Millennia have passed and yet the fools suffer the schemes of their Machiavellian masters. It is time to be better educated and to reject the roguish moves of these mass fashioners of public opinion. Jai Hind!

"খোল-করতাল বাজিয়ে লম্ফঝম্প করে দেশটা উৎসন্নে গেল। একে তো এই dyspeptic (অজীর্ণ) রোগীর দল, তাতে আবার লাফালে ঝাঁপালে সইবে কেন? কামগন্ধহীন উচ্চ সাধনার অনুকরণ করতে গিয়ে দেশটা ঘোর তমসাচ্ছন্ন হয়ে পড়েছে। দেশে দেশে, গাঁয়ে গাঁয়ে যেখানে যাবি, দেখবি খোল-করতালই বাজছে! ঢাকঢোল দেশে তৈরি হয় না? তুরীভেরী কি ভারতে মেলে না ? ঐ-সব গুরুগম্ভীর আওয়াজ ছেলেদের শোনা। ছেলেবেলা থেকে মেয়েমানষি বাজনা শুনে শুনে, কীর্তন শুনে শুনে দেশটা যে মেয়েদের দেশ হয়ে গেল! এর চেয়ে আর কি অধঃপাতে যাবে ? কবিকল্পনাও এ ছবি আঁকতে হার মেনে যায়! ডমরু শিঙা বাজাতে হবে, ঢাকে ব্রহ্মরুদ্রতালের দুন্দুভিনাদ তুলতে হবে, 'মহাবীর, মহাবীর' ধ্বনিতে এবং 'হর হর ব্যোম্ ব্যোম্' শব্দে দিগ্দেশ কম্পিত করতে হবে। যে-সব music-এ (গীতবাদ্যে) মানুষের soft feelings (হৃদয়ের কোমল ভাবসমূহ) উদ্দীপিত করে, সে-সব কিছুদিনের জন্য এখন বন্ধ রাখতে হবে। খেয়াল-টপ্পা বন্ধ করে ধ্রুপদ গান শুনতে লোককে অভ্যাস করাতে হবে। বৈদিক ছন্দের মেঘমন্দ্রে দেশটার প্রাণসঞ্চার করতে হবে। সকল বিষয়ে বীরত্বের কঠোর মহাপ্রাণতা আনতে হবে। এইরূপ ideal follow (আদর্শ অনুসরণ) করলে তবে এখন জীবের কল্যাণ, দেশের কল্যাণ। তুই যদি একা এভাবে চরিত্র গঠন করতে পারিস, তা হলে তোর দেখাদেখি হাজার লোক ঐরূপ করতে শিখবে। কিন্তু দেখিস, ideal (আদর্শ) থেকে কখনও যেন এক পা-ও হটিসনি। কখনও সাহসহীন হবিনি। খেতে শুতে পরতে, গাইতে বাজাতে, ভোগে রোগে কেবলই সৎসাহসের পরিচয় দিবি। তবে তো মহাশক্তির কৃপা হবে।"

74. স্বামীজীর চেলা হয়ে দুরাচারের বিরুদ্ধে, হিন্দুনির্যাতনের বিরুদ্ধে রুখে দাঁড়ানোর ক্ষমতা না থাকার অর্থ হল চারিত্রিক দুর্বলতা, আপসপ্রিয়তা যা স্বামীজীর মোটেই অনুমোদিত ছিল না |

79. আমাদের একে অপরের সাথে মধুর ব্যবহার করা উচিত | এতে সমাজে সংহতি রক্ষা হয় | অহেতুক উত্তেজনা প্রদর্শন দুর্বল মানসিকতার লক্ষণ | ধ্যানের দ্বারা নিজের মনকে শান্ত রাখলে, সেই শান্ত ভাব আর পাঁচ জনের মধ্যে সংক্রমিত হবে জীবনব্যবহারের দ্বারা | এতে সমাজের কল্যাণ |

80. আমাদের মেয়েদের রক্ষার ভার আমাদের | তাদের শিক্ষিতা করে তোলা যেমন আবশ্যক আধুনিক অপরা বিদ্যায়, তেমনি পরা বিদ্যায়ও যাতে তারা পারঙ্গম হতে পারে, সে দিকে দৃষ্টি রাখা দরকার | একদিকে শিক্ষা যেমন শক্তি, বিশেষতঃ ব্যবহারিক জীবনে, তেমনি দেশীয় সংস্কৃতি, আধ্যাত্মিক ভাব, সংস্কার, এর দ্বারা চরিত্রের সৌকুমার্য প্রস্ফুটিত হয় | 

স্বামীজী মেয়েদের সামনে সীতা, সাবিত্রী, দময়ন্তীর আদর্শ তুলে ধরেছেন | এই আদর্শ সেভাবে পালিত হচ্ছে না | ফলে মহিয়সী নারীর সংখ্যা কমে যাচ্ছে | 

সনাতন সংস্কৃতির সঙ্গে আধুনিক শিক্ষার দুরূহ মেলবন্ধন সাধিত করতে হবে | অসম্ভব নয় | আধ্যাত্মিক আদর্শের ভিত্তিভূমির ওপর দাঁড়িয়ে জাগতিক জ্ঞানলাভ, প্রয়োগ ও জীবনযাপন অবশ্যই সম্ভব | তাই করতে হবে | 

দেশের মেয়েরা আমাদের সর্বশ্রেষ্ঠ সম্পদ কারণ এরাই জাতির ভবিষ্যৎ জননী | এদের যত্ন, লালন পালন সর্বোপরি | তাই করব আমরা |

We are progressing fast as a nation. Swamiji's prophecy is proving true. The Ancient Mother is awakening, rising rejuvenated to her feet, never to sleep again. 

We have a leader now who is a committed nationalist unlike his carping critics steeped in corruption who have nothing but jeering to do at him. These petty politicians must be ignored as inconsequential to the 'growth story' that is emerging India. They have their meanness to feed their bloated little egos with and have nothing to contribute to the nation save leechlike to drain its lifeblood. But the generations are changing and the baton is being passed on to the aspirational youth who will cast away like dirt politicians who play the rogue's role in the drama that is evolving national life. Hence, hands off these antinationals and hope high for the prospects of the nation proper! 

The masses of India are not all in pockets provincially located that they may be seduced into subversive submission by sly dealers selling cheap wares free while buying electoral allegiance in return, but they are spread across the length and breadth of the motherland in active effort for her revitalisation into becoming the preceptor of the world perverted from the pristine principles of humanity and love.

Raja Rammohun Roy was a seminal giant of the Indian renaissance. For him to have been thus forgotten by our nation at large is a shame. He was the founder-father of the modern age in India, the first truly universal modern man perhaps of the entire world, a harmoniser of the East and the West, a junction point in human civilisation. For him to be thus neglected in national affairs is indicative of the fact that we are not truly progressing as a nation the way we could but are only making smaller strides towards progress than we need to to hasten our national evolution. Traditional trappings are still binding us and we need to disentangle ourselves, while preserving heritage and history, to develop faster. To that end I pen these lines tonight with the hope that it may kindle a few hearts and minds to taking up the study of this renaissance man of the then emerging India, this prophet of progress of the yet emerging India. If we study his life, heed his message, we will move into the modern world that much faster and with that much secure step. My salutations to this heroic spirit of eternal India.

The problem today once more is this absence of character in people, in leaders arising out of this mass of men, the lack of courage of conviction, the capacity to fearlessly articulate the truth, the fact of things, without compromising content or commercialising end. The problem that beset the world when Swamiji addressed it plagues it today as well. The world is a complex web of contradictory elements jostling for scope and space, opposed forces fighting for resolution. Here, addressing all and trying to place your point will necessarily be either naive or insincere and is bound to be manifestly weak. This is the predicament the leaders of the world face. As it is, most are not of integrated character and are desirous of personal position, profit and in megalomaniac cases even inordinate glory. Their words are weak, more often hollow and lack in the aforementioned 'courage of conviction'. Devoid of sincerity that springs from selflessness and a genuine concern for human welfare, these 'hollow men' fail to inspire confidence in the bulk of humanity as the latter continues to suffer from the iniquities that beset the world. The only way out of this cesspool of perfidious politics, this crass commercialisation of life and love, is to build character along the lines laid down by Swamiji (Swami Vivekananda). Do it and in a flash the world changes! But there isn't a single taker for his words today, leave aside his peerless preceptor, the Paramahamsa of Dakshineshwar. Alas!

Pakistan must update itself. It has got stuck up in 7th century Arabia. But we are in the 21st century. It is 1400 years of updating that the Pak psycho-computer will have to do and that is a tall order to achieve, it seems. From camels to F-16s has been quite a leap in the air but with other upgradations missing, the fall naturally is precipitous each time before the desert dust of victory is raised amidst the fog of war where obscure lies the vision. It is no more Bin Qasim versus Raja Dahir, Sir, nor barbaric Islamic hordes versus scattered and in-fighting Hindu forces. It is a backward-thinking misadventurous force versus the modern might of a unified nation that India today is, and the consequences are predictable and obvious in their inevitability. 

The Pakistani Punjabis, perverted from their civilisation by conversion, armed more in greed and the last for power, and held together for geopolitical reasons by the powers that be, rule the roost in this partitioned province of erstwhile India, and it is with their dislodgement from this dastardly base of power that must release 230 million Pakistanis unto freedom. Meanwhile, Balochistan has declared its freedom and must win international recognition in due time. 

Pakistan bleeds internally and bleeds India externally. What a perfidy was Pakistan in the very principle of its creation by partitioning India! Jinnah and the British have a lot to answer for. And Gandhi's non-violence, laudable in principle but laughable in application in a warring world yet ready for it! Add to it Nehru's weaknesses, and you have your 'picture perfect'.

What does the man of the world know of love? He knows self-interest so well. Even spiritual orders spurn love for money, justifying collection to solidify welfare work. Thus is the Avatār's pronouncement for the Age spurned as society advances to its peril. 

In the darkened hours of the midnight sun, when the cloud cover of ignorance has shifted a little, comes the touch of the Divine, the spark of the Soul, and it is revealed unto one the vanity that is life with all its attachments and associations, all its vainglorious pursuits and prizes. Then in the ashes of the burning ghat one witnesses the futility of all that one has held dear, and one is released unto moments of freedom before the mosses cover the reflecting waters again and one is once more where one was, a creature trapped in space and time with all its binding conditions. But the memory lingers and beckons one on unto a fresher night of dark light.

Be brave. Face the brute. Do not water down truth. Truth is power. Know it, live it, wield it. It is the saviour. Do not let apologists rule. Root out evil. Our polity needs health. Be strong. Do not bow down to money. Rule it. Commerce is nothing, character everything. If character be there, all else will follow, will flow. Raise yourself. Raise the masses. Be ready. Ready others. All crises must be overcome through awareness, awakening, alertness, anticipation and right response. The devil must not be dealt with in a divine way. It must be brought to book. Power must not become playmate to profit. The monk must lead from his position of poverty, not from his palace of profit in the name of raised subscription, induced donation. Let him be a leading light guiding all by practised principles, experienced truth, not a public entertainer singing and dancing to further induce mass effeminacy. Let no hypocrisy masquerade as messianic wholesomeness, saintly sanity. Hands off! Either live the whole truth or sign off from assumed emblem of titular spirituality. Be clean. Do not misguide. Let people find out the truth and decide. Retribution is coming. History is on edge, at its turning point upswing. Human society must revolve from half-truths, untruths and outright lies to truth that never dies despite suppression of ages. Profit must give way to principle. Selflessness must supplant selfishness. Crafty cunning must yield its evil bastion to wisdom fair and fine. Humanity must triumph. 🕉

THE HOLD OF FAITH, OF BELIEF, SUPERSTITION ET AL

Spiritual superstition has imagination, hope, desire and an otherworldly feeling, almost an intuitive precognition of a sense of immortality, wedded to it which makes it so persistently present in human life, as an idea almost impossible to remove from the nervous system despite all attempts at mass rationalisation to the contrary. Man has seemingly been programmed through ages of experience where superstitious beliefs have become part and parcel of his being and refuses to budge even in the teeth of death-dealing rationalisation and clings on to the nervous system's conservative set-up to defy logic and reason and scientific light streaming in. No wonder Stalin, assuredly in the context of Abrahamic religions, had famously said, "Religion like conscience can neither be stifled nor stilled." The words 'like conscience' perhaps indicate that there is a subjective truth to religion which defies destruction even at the hands of dictators and persists despite all effort at elimination of its shadowy surface self. Swami Vivekananda had said as well that so long as there was a thing called death, God would be there as a sort of big brother, a sort of personified 'help'. And we see even in the blazing light of modern science the growing hold of religion---with all its art and music, literature and philosophy, and no less its superstitions galore---on the mind of man, shaping for good and for evil the destiny of nations, of peoples and of humanity en masse as it traverses through the twilit corridors of an uncharted future.

The idea is to send the hard message across in soft terms that wins over the audience to our side. It is 'Operation Velvety War' at which Tharoor is a master. His long experience at the United Nations has taught him the art of diplomatic mediation which with his fabulous vocabulary and not inconsiderable intellect has made him such an articulate adversary that pulverises opponents in a civilised way without humiliating them as to render relations sterile. His fluency, diction and overall civility of bearing are a treat, a rarity in today's world of rough rendering and rude retorts. However, I do agree with you that Tharoor's verbal sophistication often fails to make its mark on the mind of the commoner which is why he is not a mass leader but a diplomat as if by birth. His audience belongs to the highest echelons of the intellectual community where the seeds he sows bear fruition in their appointed hour. His talents have largely been wasted post his retirement from diplomatic life as he languishes in a party that has lost its moorings in the political life of the nation and persistently props up personalities of far lesser attributes as leaders than Shashi Tharoor eminently is. For once Tharoor has found his vocation since retirement from UN and is doing a commendable job. Hope he is utilised better by the nation in what he is best at by the ruling dispensations of the day.

Sugata Bose @Ujjal Kumar Ghosh You and I share a bond beyond borders. And the border ought never to have been in the first place were it not for our petty infighting which continues to this day. I think we should seriously consider reorientation of our racial thinking and put a premium on martial training. Manhood awakened we may as as yet combat savagery on earth, much like Guru Gobind Singhji's Khālsā to this day is doing. The great Guru after witnessing the suffering of the Hindus beyond bounds which included the deaths of the fifth and the ninth Sikh Gurus themselves, rallied round his forces along strict sacrificial martial lines which began the counter-offensive against the Mughals, then determined under Aurangzeb to obliterate Hindu civilisation as far as possible. Such a warrior culture we must cultivate nationwide, especially in debilitated Bengal, to resurrect our ancient spirit which till two millennia ago had never succumbed to foreign invasion. The wide divergence of the Sanātan practices and the absence of Sanskrit learning has disintegrated our Hindu polity. Here also Buddha in his bid to democratise his teachings played a pivotal part. His adopting Pali as communication vehicle and consequent neglect of the Devabhāshā undermined Sanātan culture, effectively eroding it over the centuries till the Hindus largely forgot their ancient glory of integrated living under yhe banner of the Vedas and became segmented into a multilayered, multifarious polity of artificial construct brought about by invading forces, most so by the most devious of them all, the British. The demilitarisation of India post the Revolt of 1857 completely weakened the polity in terms of raising resistance worth the salt against the colonisers. This naturally brought in non-violence as dominant mode of resistance in the Gandhian advent and obliterated the remaining vestiges of resistive manhood that was there in parts and pockets of pulverised India. Independence came with its partitioned price to pay as an unprepared Congress capitulated under the combined pressure of the League and the Crown. Thereafter, the Gandhian influence continues to this day as a seemingly genetically altered polity delights in delusive dreams about its past, a past that has experienced the worst genocide for 1300 years and more at the hands of invading hordes from across the deserts and the seas. And here we are this day reaping the harvest of our bloodied past and pretending that all is well when the truth is that history is being daily reenacted in all its horrific detail subject to altered circumstance and conditional contours. Our kinship across countries, once an integrated union, breaks through barriers of borders, for it is a blood-bond in genetic terms and a life-bond in terms civilisational. 🕉 Hindu!

Small solace are scriptural citations when sufferance suffocates the soul. Scriptures must be quoted not to puerile effect but in depth-realisation of the agony that life is, to alleviate, if possible, this misery. Intellect can scarce feel what is after all the vocation of the heart. Sugata Bose @Debaprasad Bhattacharya : You are doing seminal service to the nation, esoecially the youth, in posting these passages from the 'Lectures from Colombo to Almora' delivered by Swamiji in 1897 when his whirlwind tour of the subcontinent set aflame the heartland of Bhāratvarsha not only with the ancient fire of the Rudrayajna but ignited with it such a fiery love for the motherland that moderation in the Congress politics of pleas, petitions and prayers was galvanised into the extreme passion of revolutionary struggle whose culmination saw it to India's freedom in 1947, just as Swamiji in this same year of 1897 had prophesied. These words, pregnant as they are with power and potency, will bore their way through welcoming hearts and minds, fashioning men out of matter and gods out of men who will as yet arise to carry to distant corners of the earth the message of peace and harmony, unselfishness and a fundamental attitudinal change in men from the currency of crass commercialism that has come to tear the world apart through its violent execution. 

Swamiji was brought in by Thakur from the highest realm of spiritual being to earthy earth to transform this animal consciousness abiding in the human body. He is no more in flesh and form with us now but his message has outlived his physical form and must be disseminated across the wide world. To that effect, to that end you have been doing seminal service unto us for several years now, daily, diligently and in a dispassionate detached spirit, and I thank you for it. That these lectures are of greater moment at this point in time has been brought to your attention by me time and again, as opposed to more abstract passages on Brahman, Atman et al to which I feel the commoner cannot so much connect, enmeshed as he is in his day-to-day life of mundane necessities and due and undue desires. I thank you again for at last bringing the lectures of Swamiji alive as they had enlivened the masses from Colombo to Almora in that momentous year of 1897, a point crystallised in history, veritably an inflexion point in the history of Bhāratvarsha. 🕉 Hindu!

The quality of readership is declining by the day. Anything subtle seems to elude common comprehension. Humour is no more dish digestible and sarcasm a sauce a bit too bitter. 

One cannot lower one's standard of self-expression to accommodate innocence of readers in the subtleties of language and must bide by time till generations evolve to more refined perception. If most cannot follow the drift of my posts, cannot fathom the depth but spray about the froth, then let language persist in its impersonal self without bothering to breathe the dusty air of roadside construction of blocks and squares without art or poetry. Culture must be preserved despite it all, despite its precipitous fall consequent on catering to communication with the commoner who is hardly kith and kin to deep thinking. 

The Buddha democratised communication by speaking in colloquial terms and forsook the classical language. The masses understood his message in their rustic way for a while before the neglect of Sanskrit took its cultural toll from which we are yet to recover. Thus, if most refuse to read in between lines the way the author intends his writings to be read, it is not for the author fearing readership loss to lower literary level but it is his call to his vocation to persist in the practice of his art irrespective of reader comprehension. 

Nature is an open book for the deepest thinkers to decipher its hieroglyphics and for the shallow to marvel at its surface beauty or not to bother at all, caring only to draw respiratory and digestive nourishment from it for survival at the organic animal level. But Nature does not budge or lower standards. Billions of years, millions pass before civilisation peeps in, peers into its secrets to set the ball rolling. But the fire thus ignited, the wheel thus set in motion can scarce move this mountainous mass called the masses who continue to roll in ignorance, spark off surface tensions and in general keep dancing to the ball of base desire and baser understanding. Does Nature accommodate? Must authors?

9. Both Christians and Muslims proselytise in India to the detriment of the Hindus. Christian evangelism in the Norh-east has deculturalised the tribals. Conversion to Abrahamic faiths must be stopped and mass reconversion programmes to the Sanatan Dharma initiated.

10. Ghar wapasi or return to the Mother Faith (Sanatan Dharma) is the way out to create cultural solidarity and national integration.

11. Much that the liberal of universal sympathies that he was, Swamiji nonetheless stressed that the orthodox man of yore had courage of conviction and character thereof whereas the modern man of heterodox beliefs, ever-shifting and unstable, a mass of ideas unassimilated and running riot in the brain, lacks substance to hold his own against the rushing tide of historical forces. As such he preferred the former of substance to the latter of patent hollowness, of vaunted principles and little practice.

12. Swami Vivekananda had advocated aggressive Hinduism, albeit only in the missionary sense. Even Sri Ramakrishna was opposed to Hindus converting to Christianity as was evident in his interview with Michael Madhusudan Dutt at Dakshineshwar, the latter having been culpable to that act of dhārmic desertion as he himself admitted.

41. Truth coming through the nervous system is reduced to its distorted derivative. Go beyond the body to apprehend Truth.

42. If Abrahamic faiths limit God to their finite folds, they must be reinstructed in Vedic wisdom, in the highest spirituality.

61. We are not only at war with terrorism of all kinds and from diverse sources but we are at war with global warming and the prospect of a nuclear holocaust. The demon lies within us and we must begin our combat there. It is urgent, now or never, for unless we can harness these forces of human annihilation, we may not have a morrow to brood on. I reiterate, it is now or never. Let fools stop holding centrestage and let wise men conduct human affairs. Else, it is Armageddon round the corner.

62. The West has lost character and is decaying. Its ill-begotten wealth, affluence through depredation of weaker nations, centuries of colonialism and now neocolonialism have reduced it to a pleasure-seeking, individualistic, selfish mass of people who have lost their spiritual moorings. The West is declining, will decline further even as lesser nations will come up to replace its dominance over world affairs. Whoever imitates the West will go down the same slope and it is best that nations remain true to their selves.

National concentration has to be built up, intellectual focus, timely diplomatic responses to false narratives floated by the enemy in the international arena, less of bureaucratic hyper-guarded language that dares not speak the truth about the enemy's actions and perceived intent, less of media hype and jingoism as if television anchors are going to settle international scores on night-time shows, less of commerce made out of human catastrophe and wartime emergency, and, above all, less of political point-scoring over each other using exploits of the Indian Armed Forces. Most importantly, though, is national unity at a time when our soldiers are at 'war', solidarity of the nation through the thick and thin of operations so that the morale of the forces is held high with our unconditional civilian support. After all, they fight that we may flourish, they die that we may live. We must live, therefore, in a manner that they, too, may live out their soldiers' pledges to the letter and to the spirit. 68. Such a valorous woman of such superlative qualities, Nivedita's untimely death weakened our national movement for freedom and our general progress as a nation as well along the lines laid down by Swamiji.

69. Please read that phase of Nivedita's life where she parted ways with the Ramakrishna Mission for her political activities while remaining connected spiritually to the Mission founded by her Master. 

Nivedita's is a complex life, difficult to decipher. Her life was comprehensive, too, perhaps too much for the palate of relatively more passive people around her. Her Irish revolutionary blood with freedom running in her veins like wild fire made her impatient with the moderate means of the early Congress and induced her to pitch in with the more extreme revolutionaries under Aurobindo Ghosh's care. But fate decreed otherwise as the rigours of living in the harsh environment of the then India wore her down in health and in 1911 at the young age of 44 Nivedita breathed her last, her message unto humanity delivered but the execution of her work left incomplete.

71. Meanwhile the globe warms up. What about this environmental escalation ladder that we are blissfully climbing? Are we are a suicidal species?

72. Vedanta has had a bad defeat in every age. And yet it is Vedanta that is at the root of everything that wins. Inscrutable are the ways of the Lord, obscure the ways of evolution as clarity proceeds slowly through the mist of the Many to the unified end that has transcended even the One.

73. God is not the end. He is the penultimate step to the Unified Being that has transcended all enumeration, all ends and means.

74. Even if the world fails him, Ramakrishna will win. The world will be welded in love into one unified being, wedded will be the contradisposed forces in a harmonised whole. It may take time, and sure it will, but the outcome is inevitable, for the will of the Lord is omnipotent.

75. She is the last resort of all, the good and the holy, the wicked and the depraved. She refuses none, embraces all Her children irrespective of attributes in Her loving arms. Mother, I bow down to Thee!

77. The youth must be flooded with Vivekananda literature. That is the one way of building the character of the nation. And this programme must extended worldwide, for humanity today is facing the spectre of extinction. Nuclear holocaust and environmental eclipse are looming large. It is a change in attitude that can avert this human catastrophe. Here Vivekananda comes in as the prophet of the times, as the leading light that can guide humanity across the abyss of annihilation to security and safety.

78. The end of evolution is Ātmajnān (knowledge of the Self).

79. Plant trees. That is the only way to save the world.

80. Hindu renaissance is impossible if not preceded by the dissemination of Sanskrit study across the length and breadth of the land.

81. This geographical mass called India has a spiritual basis behind it. We have to seek this soul of India. And that is what we invoke as 'Vande Mataram'. Any opposition to it must be deemed anti-civilisation in so far as India is concerned and cannot be condoned.

86. Shashi Tharoor is creating waves across the world with his post-Sindoor representative oratory as leading spokesperson for the Government of India, much to the dislike of his political party. His articulate defence of India's case before several of the northern nations of the world has brought him into direct conflict with the unduly critical line adopted hy his party. While Tharoor is duly discharging his duty to the nation rising above party line, and he is doing quite the right thing, for national interest must always be held above party interest, the Congress seems to be unable to digest his performance and prominence thus, especially as it had not enlisted Tharoor's name in its choice of representatives for the said diplomatic mission. What transpires hereafter remains to be seen as it will determine Tharoor's future as politician and the profile of the Congress which has already sunk a lot in the public eye post its insensitive remarks regarding Operation Sindoor. 

87. If Vivekananda literature is made available to the youth en masse, it is bound to make its mark on national character in the foreseeable future. This is the sine qua non of the day.

88. A massive university ought to be built by the Government of India for research on Netaji. It will change India's fortunes.

89. Netaji researchers ought to resolve their differences of opinions on his disappearance by thrashing them out in open conference.

90. Netaji needs to be made far more prominent in national life for the instilling of unselfish love for the nation in the hearts and minds of the citizens.

91. Hindus must deepen themselves. Too much of levity has come to characterise them. This sort of frothy living is most un-Sanātani.

92. Levity has its limits and it is time to take a downward dive unto gravity. This crass commercial culture is eating into our vitals. Not good at all. High time to rectify stance and modify national living along lines of heritage.

93. Military might must duly back up deft diplomacy in order to strengthen our international relations.

94. Instead of 'Good morning', Ramakrishna devotees, say, 'Jai Ramakrisha!' That will be an exercise in holiness for both addresser and addressee.

95. If the capital city of a country ranks among the most polluted in the world, it does not but give a fair indication as to the general level of pollution across the land. Successive governments come and go but the capital suffers. Asthma is on the rise. Children's health being hazarded like hell and yet no sign of 'Project Afforestation'. To force Delhi to dive to its doom is dastardly enough, not to mention the mean machinations to politicise the disaster for electoral gains while doing nothing about resolving the crisis. Meanwhile, Delhi breathes but only in spasms!

99. Continuous continence for 12 years in thought, word, speech and action opens up the Medhā nāri (the nerve of creative intelligence) that makes perception of the Absolute possible. Duality ceases and the Non-dual Being in its self-existence becomes apparent. Such a state is called Brahmajnān and the perceiver on return to relativity dubbed Brahmajnāni.
