THE PERSISTING MALADY

The weakness of Hindus has cost us the dismemberment of the motherland in 1947. But the weakness has persisted in our system despite Partition and is festering as a deadly disease now. 

● It could be dietary inhibition on our part. 

● It could be the loss of Sanskrit learning overtime. 

● It could be political appeasement to secure votes. 

● It could be civilisational fatigue of 5000 plus years. 

● It could be confusion in our minds arising from the multiplicity of spiritual paths open to us without any narrow sectarian stricture restricting us to fixed dogmatic observances which would facilitate focus. 

● Or, it could simply be gluttony for gold that has made our urban educated suffer from civilisational amnesia and go for the ephemeral pleasures of life in preference to the harsher life of sacrifice and suffering to preserve civilisation. 

Whichever or whatever combination of reasons it is, we are on a sticky wicket once more and will find it hard to save the Test Match in the fourth innings with the ball turning square. 

Let's face it, we are in troubled times with distant dangers nearing us once again. Before the tsunami overcomes us, let us take a fresh guard and bolster our defences to the impending onslaught which needs must come upon us in the fullness of time with altered demography and doctrinal compulsions aiding and abetting the adversarial movement. 🕉
