TEACH NOT THE HINDUS THOSE SECULAR SLOGANS

TEACH NOT THE HINDUS THOSE SECULAR SLOGANS

Unity is essential for the progress of a nation. But it must be founded on civilisational essence and not on an assortment of ideas ill-harmonised which is superficially called 'unity in diversity'. The roots must be indigenous and not alien. The foundations must be national and not borrowed from elsewhere.

Our civilisational essence is in the Vedas and its derivatives. It forms the bedrock of our culture and national life running through millenia. Its antiquity is so remote that it predates recorded history and its flow has been continuous till date. We are the only surviving ancient civilisation with features common to all ages of its life despite myriads of attacks on it by foreign forces, both religious and political. If we have survived thus far, it must be for some intrinsic strength and purpose which latter end we must fulfil. And it is the spiritualisation of the whole world.

We need not be taught such terms as 'secularism', 'tolerance', 'acceptance', 'fraternity', 'religious harmony', 'compassion', 'non-aggression' and the like for we are suffused with such attributes traditionally on account of our unique national experience built on the rock-solid foundations of the Vedas. Our Sanatan Dharma teaches us these principles and through our civilisational experience we have these running like rapid currents in our racial nervous system. The electricity thus generated has produced sages and saints periodically in our vast Sanatan Samaj and has sanitised our collective life along the path of Dharma.

The principle of Ishta Dev/Devi (the Chosen Deity), which is central to our religious discourse, allows us an infinite variety of progressive spiritual paths to the common unitary end of Mukti (Liberation) which in turn has democratised our Samaj (society) and made easy the realisation of 'unity in diversity'. It is natural to us and, consequently, no narrow fanaticism vitiates Hindu society. Such bigotry, narrowness, fanaticism snd murderous propensity have been alien invasive influences in India and they have polluted the pure universal spirit that once pertained throughout the length and breadth of Aryavarta. We have to recover that glorious past that had once made its home on the banks of the Ganga, the Sindhu and the Sarasvati. We must awaken the divine in every Indian and relocate him/her in his/her pristine spiritual status. This, and nothing short, is the national agenda. And with it we must spread out 'with the flag of harmony and peace' throughout the world and save suffering humanity by teaching the Vedic knowledge as in the days of yore when Bharatvarsha's spiritual influence had civilised the whole of Asia and even parts of Europe. Thus will real 'unity in diversity' be established in the world as different cultural currents accept and assimilate the lofty truths of the Vedas. Here at home Hindus are already harmonised in the teachings of the sages, ancient and modern, and need only to integrate as a seminal force better. Then all will be well. 🕉
