STOP DENIGRATING THE BRAAHMAN

Today it has become fashionable to denigrate braahmans. And this is being done by alienated braahmans themselves. Remember, if the braahmans are gone, the Sanatan civilisation will meet its doom and India shall go down with it. Swamiji had much brooded over this prospective clash of varnas in the coming Shudra Age and had come to the conclusion that it was by raising the shudra to the spiritual state of the braahman that India was to rise to her spiritual preeminence in the world and not the other way round by degrading the braahman to the shudra state as is in currency now to the delight of westernised half-baked secularists and motivated Marxists. "India will be raised, not with the power of the flesh, but with the power of the spirit; not with the flag of destruction, but with the flag of peace and love, the garb of the Sannyasin; not by the power of wealth, but by the power of the begging bowl," said Swami Vivekananda. And who best to lead this spiritual renaissance but the braahman? No, by 'braahman' we should not understand this varna only in terms of birth but we must regard this in terms of virtue and merit, by means of the manifestation of dharmic vrittis (ethical attributes) in one's personality and character. The gateway to braahmanhood must be open to all and no deserver must be kept out of its fold. The object will be, I reiterate, to raise the shudra to braahmanhood rather than drag the braahman down to shudrahood. Thus shall the Indian civilisational renaissance be, not otherwise. 🕉
