JIHAD---SETTING PERSPECTIVE RIGHT

Jihad predates Western geopolitical dominance. It is foundational in Islam. Thus, this pretext, so often in vogue these days, cannot be the cause of Islamic terrorism. Historically jihad has been waged to establish a like geopolitical Islamic dominance. There is theological backing for it, divine commandment mandating it. It must be active, enterprising, willing jihad and not passive participation calling for the damning labelling of munafiq (hypocrite) for whom the Fire waits in the Hereafter in Jahannum. Where was the West with its geopolitical dominance of Islamic lands in the 7th and 8th centuries when Islamic jihad conquered the world? So, jihad is intrinsic to Islam and not the effect of Wesrern oppression as such, although it's current trigger in many cases is doubtlessly Western foreign policy in regard to Islamic nations. Meanwhile, jihad continues, registering at least 48,000 terrorist acts in 70 countries worldwide since September 11, 2001 when the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center were brought down.
