REACTIONS TO MAJ GEN G.D.BAKSHI'S ORATION ON THE OCCASION OF THE BIRTH ANNIVERSARY OF SARAT CHANDRA BOSE AT THE VIVEKANADA HALL, RAMAKRISHNA MISSION INSTITUTE OF CULTURE, GOLPARK, 6 SEP, 2017

1. Where Indians and dogs were debarred admittance during the days of the Raj, must we ingloriously seek bonhomie there? Clubs, the hangover of the colonial past!

2. A superior smile by way of inarticulate denunciation of G.D.Bakshi's vigour of the Netaji oration is proof of the inverse state of cowardice and a betrayal of the brightest honour of the nation.

3. The country that betrayed Netaji is the one that in cowardice sells itself still to the vanities of the West.

4. G.D.Bakshi exposes our hypocrisy as a people in keeping silent over the torture and 'death' of Netaji at the hands of the British in Siberia. Netaji was tortured to 'death' during interrogation by British intelligence, so claims the author of 'Bose : An Indian Samurai'.

5. Few, alas! few indeed can claim to be free of cultural servitude to the British. And some even spend their lives in their habitat built of our resources, of the blood spilled from our veins, of the poverty, squalor and dire destitution thrust on us by the colonial vampires that have sucked us dry. Patriots, indeed, we are!

6. Purity was the power that propelled Netaji and lifelong celibacy the powder that ground the British.

7. Cowardice and character are inconsonant.

8. Truth is the only authority. No person or family, however exalted in the public eye, may claim that privilege.

9. Do we have no shame whatsoever that we force marriage and daughter on India's foremost patriot, one whose life was of unsullied purity? Is this the way we honour our heroes by assassinating their character when it is well known to all that Netaji had remained celibate throughout his life, observing standards of strict physical purity and eschewing all carnal connections? The great follower of Sri Ramakrishna and Swami Vivekananda had since his boyhood days devoted himself to observing chastity by way of fulfilling his spiritual obligations and never strayed from his
