NO COMPROMISE WITH THIS GLOBAL EVIL THAT THREATENS TO ANNIHILATE US

It is an evil force that we are up against, one that operates on a global level and has theological backing to support its programme of the destruction of India which it terms as the land of the Hindus and its agenda as Ghazwa-e-Hind. The enemy is as much without as within and we must rise as a nation imbued by the martial spirit sanctioned by the Sanatan Dharma whose essence is self-preservation on the valorous basis of the Self which is imperishable within the finite folds of the perishable body. This is the message of the Bhagavad Geeta and the core principle of our age-old nationhood and statecraft. This perennial principle needs to be emphasised and the nation no more fed the doctrine of non-violence as its fundamental philosophy.

The narrative of the nation must change from passive resistance to active confrontation of evil. If you hate me and spit venom on my self, I do not love you back but I subdue you and extract your poisonous fangs to render you ineffective and sterile. If you hate my motherland, my national song, my national chant, my religion, I do not love you in turn nor do I profess foolishly that it is your democratic right to do so, but I give you back in valorous terms my defence.

We have to stand united as a nation but can it be with a confused assortment of selective historical episodes and facts that goes by the name of the national narrative, one that excludes everything that is great in our civilisation and edits or deletes all such as can inspire patriotism and nationalism in our children who shall form the polity in the years to come? No, it can never be. The national narrative must change, the national philosophy founded on the eternal rock of the Vedas whence it shall seek succour and sustenance as India emerges yet again as the superpower of the world.

India must have her Hindu narrative in the widest sense of the word and must militarise along the lines laid down by our great martial forefathers, aided and improved upon by our enlightened armed forces who never quite follow the Gandhian philosophy in combating the enemy but take recourse to the military history of the world in doing so. A strong armed force will help secure peace and preserve the sovereignty of our nation for the flourishing of its ancient civilisation without hindrance or hiccup. The enemy has to be dealt with robustly and, to do so, we must imbue the citizens with the martial spirit of valour, obedience, organisation, discipline, service and sacrifice.

Napoleon had called England a nation of shopkeepers. We must be wary that in our money-spinning ambitions and in our patent national insincerity at the level of the educated and the accomplished, we do not become likewise.

Tagore had said that our words ought to 'come out from the depth of truth'. But our words invariably issue from shallow, superficial levels of uncommitted flimsiness. And herein lies the problem.

The national concentration has to be built up, the intellectual discourse must be held and conducted in a deep emotional bond with the nation that is free of the trappings of frothy frivolous displays of patriotism but is surcharged with genuine feeling and love that is deep, that vibrates with the spirit of valour and sacrifice for the common weal. There must be feeling and there must be reason and there must be deep thought and involvement behind every act of ours such that our responses to a situation do not reek of a cheap sense of gold and gain and throb instead with the pulsations of genuine passion for a cause that conduces to national well-being which flimsiness certainly does not.

How gullible are we that so many of us still talk of peace with Pakistan when its forces continue to do heavy shelling across the LoC which costs us precious lives every day ! Do we as a nation suffer from chronic amnesia? Has Pulwama been so fast forgotten in the wake of the festivities indulged in by the citizens on the release of Wing Commander Abhindandan Varthaman from Pak custody? Is this the due display of nationalism, now sorrowful and now rejoicing in alternate expression of frothy emotion that strikes no root in the national consciousness? Are we that shallow as a people?

Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman chased the wits out of the Pak F-16 plane, hounding it to its doom. 8 Indian fighter jets repulsed 24 Pak planes to save our military installations in J&K. Upgraded Mig-21 Bison downed a far more advanced F-16, a record in aerial warfare in the world. Abhinandan, Abhinandan Varthaamn !

Pakistan is playing with fire. Imran Khan must remember that the player at the other end facing his bouncers does not merely have a bat in his hand but is armed with more devastating defence. This should keep tall talk and dirty deeds by Khan, Qureshi and Ghafoor in check and teach Bajwa that Bhajpa sounds a little different not merely to the ear but to dear life, dear as well.

PERFIDIOUS PAKISTAN ... 1

Pakistan's continuous ceasefire violations in J&K betray its true intentions and the release of Wing Commander Abhindandan Varthaman does not promise peace by any stretch of imagination. It will be folly to take Pakistan at its stated lies and its true intent must be understood from its military aggression across the LoC which continues to inflict pain on India and disrupts civilian life in the Valley. Deaths of military personnel and civilians continue as usual even as Abhindandan's homecoming lets loose unrestrained rejoicing across the country.

The military objective is far from being accomplished and sustained armed and diplomatic pressure needs to be maintained to achieve it. There is simply no case for peace here. The Balakot airstrikes by the IAF frightened the enemy out of its wits into delivering fast WC Abhindandan who they were under legal obligation under the Geneva Convention to return to India safely at any rate. International pressure merely expedited the process. But no peace gesture was behind this move by Pakistan which continues with its aggression across the border as usual. Further airstrikes will only bring them to book it seems.

The blow must be deep and decisive and under no compulsions must the political will weaken to deliver the coup de grace once the Lok Sabha elections are over. However, that will only be possible if Narendra Modi is once more voted to power to be able to pursue the military programme. A defeat for him will spell the doom for India.
