The leonine disciple of Sri Ramakrishna, the one who was seen in the shrine of the Alamabazar Math guarding the image of the Master from coming to any harm during the great earthquake of 1892 when so many of the others had run to the ground floor to seek safety. This was the messenger of the Master to America and, later, to Southern India where he galvanised the Ramakrishna Movement like none other. Glory unto Tulsi Maharaj, one of the seventeen direct disciples of Sri Ramakrishna, now almost erased from public memory by historical forces. We await his resurrection in the public imagination.
