WRITTEN IN PAIN AND IN SHAME

WRITTEN IN PAIN AND IN SHAME

How will the international community view us as a nation when we perform so miserably and yet celebrate our meagre achievements in a manner as if we have swept the bulk of the medals at the #Tokyo2020 #Olympics? You may call it patriotism and being positive about our future prospects. But I call it a national shame that we do not feel ashamed of our abysmal failure at the Olympic level yet again. This way we are losing self-respect as a nation as we continue to call failure a resounding success. Just imagine how USA or China, the two leading nations of the world, would have reacted had they faced such national debilitation in the international arena. We have not only been consistently failing at the Olympic level but also continuously lowering our national standards of expectation of excellence. We need to shout less, clamour least and work most amidst disciplined, diligent silence. Let us emerge as a nation. Right now we are a mockery of it in nearly all fields except where we are preeminent, in the realms of commercial corruption and population explosion. God bless us as a nation!
