SHUBHA BIJOYA

Swamiji bled to his death to give us life. Must we fail him now when the onus is on us to deliver the goods? Whose country is India? Is it not ours? Then can we neglect to give our utmost to rebuild it to its pristine glory, nay, even surpass it as Vivekananda had envisaged? Shame on us that we are so lackadaisical in the discharge of our national obligations? Shame on us that we, the devotees of Thakur-Swamiji, allow so many welfare projects of the Ramakrishna Mission to wallow in the dust and with it thwart the welfare of so many of our less fortunate countrymen who the Mission wishes to uplift from the mire of poverty and ignorance. We are celebrating Bijoya and rejoicing at the triumph of good over evil post-destruction of the demonic forces by the Mother Goddess Durga. But the devil in our hearts has not been vanquished; the evil of iniquity in society has not been done away with; the gross plummeting of society into the materialistic mode has not been effectively countered. These are the challenges facing us as a nation as we blissfully celebrate victory over evil and legitimately feel happy about it. So, let us gain our rightful victory over the wrongful happenings that beset us and in truth celebrate Bijoya. Till then let us not rest in peace for such peacefulness is an indulgence and is veritably the sign of death. Our victory should be a collective victory, our happiness the happiness of all, our good the welfare of the masses and our celebration the the rejoicing of the entire nation. Shubha Bijoya! Jai Ma! Jai Hind!
