2. Cut down on your expenditure. Save national, global energy. These are treacherous times, that of needless roguish war. Economise.

3. Do warmongers realise the cost it entails on the common man? I bet they do but couldn't care less. Power-drunk politicians poisoning the world.

4. The stockpile of arms has to be spent and the commodity purchased is not peace but human suffering. The predator-prey relation continues in full flow.

5. With a heavy heart I witness human suffering consequent on the war.The cost of it could be incalculable. Myopic vision can scarce see where it all leads.

6. Those who suffer know what suffering is. The rest rest on scriptural quotes. It is a heartless world where human apathy thus reigns.

7. Love is scripture to me.

8. Man killing man. Senseless violence. The primitive instinct still prevails. Whither civilisation? Heartlessness!

9. Might is right. This is neoimperialism, not democracy.

10. Have money and have fun. This is life for some.

11. We are moving back to savage days.

12. True it is that not all are true.

13. When happiness and sadness have been equalised, the mind in tranquillity loves.

14. A bunch of unruly schoolboys rule the world.

15. When man thinks he is God and destroys at will, retribution follows. Karma will recoil.

18. Nationalism is a major hindrance to world peace.

19. You cannot have world peace if you have a fractured outlook on life.

20. Irregularity of communication destroys relations.

21. Study hard. India needs bright students.

22. Life is moments knitted close to seal the gaps.

24. It is common courtesy to call back if you have missed a call. But many do not exhibit this much civility also.

25. Neglect the Guru and you miss your chance of spiritual advancement in life. Decay then inevitably follows.

26. 'Jāgte raho!' The night is 'dark and deep' but soon it will be dewy dawn, then bright tulip morn, then high noon before eve sets in again.

29. More and more human nature is coming clear.

30. India will become strong only through high quality academic training of our children.

31. The war has plunged the world into a crisis. It needs a rapid resolution lest it spiral out of control.

32. Petty self-interest is ruining the world. One needs a bigger perspective to secure world-welfare.

34. The world needs peace, not the futility of war.

35. Needless dragging of an aimless war can only damage the world and cause untold human misery. Time for sanity to prevail. Philosophers should guide.

37. The great revolutionary Rash Behari Bose who fought throughout the first half of the twentieth century to help liberate India from the shackles of British colonial-imperial occupation. Founder of the Indian Independence League and the Indian National Army, foremost leader of the Ghadar Movement, bomber of Lord Hardinge, the only revolutionary whose activity spanned the length of two World Wars, Rash Behari, honoured in imperial Japan, has been forgotten in India. Read about him and be men true to patriotic colour.

38. Concentrate on your work if you wish to do good to humanity. But be ethical in your dispositions. No good comes out of serving petty self-interest. 🕉

39. We have to raise the average national CQ (Concentration Quotient). This will happen through spiritualisation and study.

40. Regularity of communication with ones's Guru maintains the spiritual level of the disciple. Constancy is concentration.

41. Hindus should study the Bhagavad Gītā. A must.

42. The Gītā is the comprehensive philosophy of life.

43. In the Gīta Krishna exhorts Arjun to be manly and shake off the cowardice that has come to afflict him in the teeth of mighty opposition in war.

44. A bit of Gangā water ought to be sprinkled on the minds of madmen intent on war. It will cure them of their insanity by purifying them.

46. Merciless mercenaries rule the world.

47. India should maintain independence of stance and action. We are not colonial slaves anymore.

54. The fourth plane is of the heart, of love and light, of inexpressible bliss through every pore, the Hardwār of consciousness. Three above and three below keep company.

55. Sublimity is the soul of love.

56. Bhakti is boundless love.

57. Not all are sensitive to the refinements of the heart. Not all realise God.

58. At the dawn of spirituality memories of a life gone by, of a love long lost come rushing in. Sweetness abounds amidst intense pangs of separation.

59. Love is the music of the soul, the harmony of the heart, the one thing uplifting in a world of degrading material craving.

60. The persecutor of today will perish tomorrow.

61. Children leading nations create mayhem in the world.

62.

Such wise men alone are fit to rule this chaotic world. Unfortunately, they rule the universe, relegating us to our follies and for fools to smash our hopes and aspirations, to cast us into deathly dungeons or to forests full of ferocious foes. Is this world a plaything for children, for boorish boys intent on powerplay with toys they can hardly handle? Whither wisdom? Whither compassion? Whither any semblance of sanity?

63. In this soft and sweet scented summer breeze comes tidings of an inner bliss amidst great human misery being casually cast on innocent millions by power-drunk barons. The breeze eases the fever that has struck my soul but the fever that afflicts the world rages on. My Lord, is it not time as yet to appear?

64. Karma will recoil.

65. The victor in war is often the vanquished in spirit. Thus decline sets in a flourishing civilisation.

66. Blind fury is self-defeating.

67. The world totters on the verge of catastrophe.

68. Do the lives of specific nations only matter while the rest are cannon fodder?

70. When global warming threatens extinction of life on earth, how can man be so immature as to increase it by relentlessly waging war?

77. We all settle dowm at the basement of life.

78. Not duty of doing but beauty of being is life.

79. Self-belief comes from conservation of energy. Maintenance of relations also helps strengthen faith in oneself. One must not be crooked. Simplicity wins.

80. Crookedness of the heart goes overtime through experience of the transitoriness of human relations. Then simplicity dawns and with it faith in the Guru.

81. What glory can there be in man killing man?

82. The victor is vanquished in war despite it all.

83. 'Might is right.' So it seems in a brutal world.

84. Sycophancy is on the rise globally as truth flounders before propped-up falsities. And, yet, the nation with the maximum character will triumph.

85. The march of humanity is a marathon. The laurels are not settled yet. Nations in the flush of youth are arrogant enough to dictate terms to the world but the case has not yet been heard nor the verdict given. It is but the first clause that is subordinate to its sequel as the sentence achieves completion. Wait for the judgement that is to come as history unfolds page after page of this the biggest lawsuit of all.

86. When will the world be a safe place to inhabit?

87. Manifest heart instead of idly quoting scripture to exhibit erudition. Who cares for what scripture says when the heart bleeds for the dying? The bleeding heart is worth more a million times than a heartless reading of scripture. Let the living heart prevail over the dead head.

88. The heart is everything. Love and be free.

89. What is life but moments held fast in love?

93. Character is what pierces the heart of beings.

94. The doubting will never realise God. Have faith in the Guru. His words are scripture, his love grace itself.

95. Where ambition ends, there aspiration for the Divine begins.

96. Cross the desert of life to savour its strawberry dessert.

97. When love fails, logic comes.

98. Break through the hypnosis of life and be free. You are already free. Just affirm it.

99. But once have faith in Me and see how you are free.

100. How can a bondman love? The free alone can love.

101. What is life but the search for light?

102. Certitude of ignorance is more damaging than uncertainty of knowledge. Heisenberg will cause less harm than His Excellency Omniscient.

103. Madame always knows more. Myopia wins to lose.

104. Have faith in yourself, tremendous self-belief. You need nobody's certification. Back yourself 100%. You are God but so are others. You are they.

The life of none

Should rest on one.

109.

Today is Pi Day, 3.14...On this day, 14.03.1879, was born Albert Einstein who changed our vision of the world.

110. The heart is a strange centre. It holds all where the head fails.

111. People of the world are sold to the senses. They find no time for unselfish interaction. People of God are different. They converse free of the motive of gain. They can spare all the time in the world to fulfil the needs of others.

112. The busy will never find God. The devotee like God is never busy. He has time for all. Desires enslave the people of the world. They are slaves to their senses and find plenty of time for satisfying them. They are selective in terms of spending time with people. Where there is gain, they are there. For such engagements they find plenty of time. Where no apparent gain is, they neglect such relations, sublime though they may be.

113. Do not wait for a Vivekānanda to certify your greatness. Just believe in yourself and feel your greatness. You need nobody's certification.

Communication is life.

117. You have great power locked up in your soul. Have faith in yourself and manifest it.

118. Be not subject to superstition. Affirm your divinity.

119. Genius flounders not in Flanders but in modern-day India.

120. All karma recoils. Therefore, injure not others.

121. Irreverence is the bane of spiritual progress.

128. A poet has intrinsic value beyond his writings.

130. The speed of light is constant but measurement fluctuates. Likewise, Brahman is constant but Māyā fluctuates. Fluctuation is Māyā, is life.

131. The sun has set on the British Empire and it will set on all aspiring empires as well. People everywhere are on the rise.

133. Life is precious. Preserve it. Do good to all.

134.

The transcontinental philosophers. Men of genius failing to stop human fratricidal warfare, violence that shames the brute. The Ramāyan and the Mahābhārat enacted in the modern age in the form of two cataclysmic world wars with a third looming large should there be the slightest miscalculation or misadventure by any of the major powers of the world. The problem is manifest on the surface but its causes are embedded deeper within to address which Sri Aurobindo apparently worked through meditation on the subliminal forces that shape surface destiny. Could he or did he quite do it? I doubt it. But the direction of action was a pointer and remains so as to where work has to be done not by a single sage but by the collective mass of mankind towards resolving the karmic imbalance of ages. Will it be possible to do so? Perhaps not, but certainly such laudable initiatives as intellectual activity across continents trying to bring sanity to powermongers are bound to fail as they have done in the past when the karmic accretion of ages attempted resolution through brutal conflict in the Second World War (1939--45) which itself was a fallout of the first (1914--18). The European Jews were mass-murdered by the Nāzis, 90% annihilated in a single stroke lasting a decade. The world was plunged into chaos from which it will take centuries to recover if it ever will. Hopelessness abounds everywhere as capital makes man mortgaged to money and the human soul its sacrifice in its adoration of the dollar. Whither humanity? Whither justice? Whither sanity? Whither mercy in a merciless world that has scarce emerged from primeval forests? Tagore, you have failed. Einstein, you have in vain discovered principles which are now being used to extinguish civilisation. Aurobindo, you need a million helpers in your grand mission. Vivekananda, you need to revisit with able disciples to carry on your charge. Till then!

135. Muscle flexing today will lead to muscle atrophy tomorrow. Arrogance of power cannot last. Its death is inevitable.

136. Those who create war hate civilisation.

137. Where national self-interest is held above global human interest, peace is warred upon. Peace can never be when selfishness so prevails.

138. You need a heart to feel the suffering of the dying in the war zones. Question is, do you have it? If so, stop philosophising heartlessly, quoting scripture. Feel and act however you can to alleviate human misery and to nip its causes in the bud. Live valorously standing on your own feet and not on borrowed scriptural legs. Be men.

139. The conversion competition between Christians and Muslims is most intriguing. Predatory instincts made religious. Evangelism and jihadism at loggerheads.

140. Evolutionary differences of the races has made geopolitics a complicated affair that makes resolution of conflicts well nigh impossible.
