COMMENTS GALORE ... 106

Sugata Bose @Govind Raj : You mean you were there during the days of the Khilafat Movement?

Sugata Bose @Sanjeev Shrivastava : You are, though, highly original, and humorous too. Sarcasm as that of yours and the driving of your verbal vehicle in reverse gear is symptomatic of a style that characterised satire in a bygone era. Now it is in truth much imitation and much more language-lifting and content-copying from technotools. But still we have you as exception to the general rule and entertaining us at that with your sharp wit, inimitable and coloured by thoughts of your own school.

Sugata Bose @Amitabha Dutta Majumdar : The White House Library has all the volumes of Swami Vivekananda. So, don't worry on that count.

Sugata Bose @Swami Atmarupananda : Yet again such an empathetic piece, wisdom, heart, action, all synthesized in a grand harmony that is the essence of the Vedānta you profess, which we all profess whether we know it or not. Courage of conviction this is, in a humane way exhibited where the head and the heart are held in a delicate and dynamic equilibrium, emotions welling up, soulful and spontaneous, yet held in check by superior discrimination born out of sustained reflection on the eternal verities of life. Philosophy, plurality of positional perspectives, and principles have merged to produce a premier post that inspires as it guides one in assuming a considered stance in facing the challenges of these treacherous times when the world hinges on the whims of a handful of individuals who are more intent on feeding their bloated egos and sustaining their immediate self-interest than in promoting world peace and harmony. That you call a spade a spade and spare no names, however mighty, from your rapier assault before you apply the balm of genuine love that heals as it reveals hidden depths to one's being where all is harmonious and whole, that you address key issues that govern temporal life in the light of the transcendental, that you confront the devil with overwhelming love while calling out his misdemeanours and misdeeds with telling effect is truly in the line of your premier preceptor, Swami Vivekananda, who had in a different setting did much the same to a heretical world gone berserk on the eve of its own annihilation. Swamiji had famously said, "One man armed in truth can face the whole universe in opposition." And in you, Swami, we behold with veneration today such a one as has risen from the ranks of the followers of the leonine one of the nineteenth century, who in his twilight years is showing us the dual hues of the two worlds in a single synthesis where duty and freedom are beautifully blended to offer us the symphony of the soul in a world that is otherwise fragmented by a fractured understanding of life's essential truth. We are indebted to your luminous guidance and shall tread the path of light and love in resistance and in reflection, in submission and in suffering, in sharing and in caring, for we are all One. 🕉

Sugata Bose @Deepanjan Mitra, Bolaka Roy, Riya Bhattacharya, Nilanjana Chakraborty : Kindly read this revealing piece (the post proper) by our Swami Atmarupananda.

Sugata Bose @Diganta Sengupta : You are the only one to commend me on this piece (write-up). None else did. Not that I expect it, knowing the magnanimity of people's hearts. But you have a big heart, noble soul that you are.

Sugata Bose @Kapil Patil : The haha 😄 man.

Sugata Bose @Disciple : Remember, my best lessons I do not teach all nor induce in any but the very best of receptors. Gurumukhi vidyā is thus transmitted. It is not to be rendered profane by vile touch but must be preserved in the sanctum sanctorum of the heart where the Lord resides in permanent abode, obscure to ordinary vision but visible to the purified eye, the third eye of inner vision.

The pupil must deserve the best of the preceptor. Only then will knowledge pass from the Guru to the shishyā.

Sugata Bose @Kapil Patil : You will lead the Vānar Senā Bajrangbali-style.

Sugata Bose @Bolaka Roy : I get impatient sometimes, even exasperated, at the lack of effort on the part of most of my disciples in doing their spiritual practices intensely. Time is flying and death is approaching all of us. We must not be caught unawares. Above all, this lack of sincerity is killing, lip-service tantamount to nothing substantial. The spiritual ideal is unclear to most, almost deliberately, despite repeatedly being reminded of it by me. So, I keep on chanting for you all and concentrate on your welfare. Some are disobedient, some slippery, some unbothered and some neglectful of staying in touch. Their daily chores and professional and business interests, their socialising and other vocational activities are prioritised over following me. If desires rule, can the Divine adorn life as well? The two are contradisposed. Meanwhile, years pass and the field remains bereft of yield for want of farming. What will happen to these who wilfully plot their own downfall?

Sugata Bose @Sharmistha Chatterjee : Well spoken as usual, free and spontaneous, utterly relaxed and composed, almost homely.

Sugata Bose @Kaushani Chatterjee : You will get entangled in Māyā if you do not read Ramakrishna-Vivekānanda literature regularly. Let it not happen. Read it and be blissful. Live free of the binding fetters and build your life. Then spread the Word around. As Swamiji says, "Accumulate power in silence." Then be a blessing unto the world.

Sugata Bose @Shankar Kumar Chatterjee : After-dinner dessert hope not. Laut ke lotus ho toh achchhā. Desert storm mey na mazā hai na maukā, namāz khub hai, tambu ur bhi jaye tab bhi.

Sugata Bose @Bolaka Roy : Duty towards the world manufactured by the ego full of material desires is veritable bondage. Service, sevā, pūjā towards all, knowing them to be the Lord in disguise, must replace dull duty full of material compulsions  Work like a master, not a slave who finds little time for spiritual practices because of household chores. Why so? All your hours should be spent in spiritual contemplation if even at work for maintenance of home. This golden opportunity you are squandering  Do not.

Sugata Bose @Cheenmoy Saha : Correct. All are voter-conscious. Also, Hindus themselves are oblivious of their dharma and the demographic danger facing them. So, to make Hindu Rāshtra a prime point in the manifesto of an otherwise pro-Hindu political party would prove electorally disastrous, theses parties reckon.

Sugata Bose @YouTube [Bhajan Marg] : A lot of pretence, a lot of words of wisdom but not much realisation in real. [Ref. Premānand Govind Saran]

Sugata Bose @Juui Gannguly : A jewel of our motherland, the ancient enlightened womanhood reawakened.

Sugata Bose @Rishav Jamy Bose : On the contrary this should act as a deterrent if Sri Ramakrishna is widely preached. Hindus need not go out of their fold to realise God in all His multiplicity of manifestations and in His unmanifest essence. Hindus by this universal gospel of the Vedas 'Ekam sadviprā bahudhā vadanti' running in their DNA have been ages ago inoculated against conversion to others' fold. So, conversion does not take place because of Sri Ramakrishna through his spiritual vision proving once again the spiritual authenticity of the Christ personality but rather inhibits it as Hindus naturally tend to venerate and worship their own Avatārs and Āchāryas. Where conversion does take place, it is through political allowance of nefarious evangelical activity in tribal areas as in the Northeast where colonial coordinated conversion and post-colonial Nehruvian secular indulgence to the same has resulted in proliferating proselytism. Ramakrishna and Vivekananda remain the dual divine defenders, the strongest antidotes to Hindu disintegration but they have to be preached effectively. 🕉

Sugata Bose @Kapil Patil : But you are Kapil Muni. You must show us the way by leading from the front in the battlefield.

Sugata Bose @Anoushka Alicia Thakur : You do not need to go anywhere to gain spirituality. It is within you. You need good guidance which, if you are eager for, I can offer you. Moreover, spirituality is not for earthly gain or removal of professional or vocational hazards but for attaining divine fulfilment in your essence. Peace shall follow, 'the peace that passeth understanding'.

Sugata Bose @Bolaka Roy : God alone is real. Do not forget that ever. And your deepest self is the Self, the Ātman, the Brahman, God. God and You, the real you, are one. Fear not. Be sincere. Increase chanting if you can. Seek my permission before that. Informal chanting carry on continuously through the day, through the night, in and through all odd moments of repose and rest. Let the mental chant carry on uninterrupted.

Sugata Bose @Nilanjan Chakrabarty : Swami Sāradānanda apparently was St. Peter. When Sāradānandaji visited Rome he passed into instant samādhi at the sight of St. Peter's Basilica, perhaps reminiscent of his former incarnation with all its associated spiritual vibrations frozen in time that through millenia came flooding across to touch sympathetic chords in his present spiritual being. Who knows what may have chanced? But Sri Ramakrishna's incarnation was the bridge to many apparently disjointed spiritual phenomena of India and the world. This is the harmonic aspect of the Master which needs deep study and expert elucidation, not just casual referencing that makes a mockery of such epic events that need a divine union of their broken strands in a fractured world full of fratricidal feuds. 🕉

Sugata Bose @Pranab Dev : True in terms of analogical illustration of the pertinent point. And yet the moon changes contour and content continuously as matter is ever in flux. Brahman alone is the same ever for it is beyond space-time-causality. All else in the realm of relativity are subject to unceasing change.

Sugata Bose @Rajesh Trivedi : Swami Vivekananda also was given sannyas by Swami Vivekananda and so were the other brother disciples of his. So, what about that? Is it a half-truth then to call Swamiji Thakur's direct disciple?

Sugata Bose @Debaprosad Choudhury : সত্যের অপলাপ সবচেয়ে বড় ক্ষতি |

Sugata Bose @Ramakrishna Mission : The very fact that Swami Vireshwaranandaji got his filmed form cut off from the video is proof not of humility or self-effacemement but of egoistic identification with his, so to say, own form. It seems he had forgotten that he never existed except in ignorance and that his form was one of Thakur's myriad forms only. Hence, he not only wasted his own time and that of the novitiate's time in a fruitless endeavour but also obliterated history and went against Swamiji's directive to record the proceedings of the Math in perfect order. It was a belying of truth in effect, an error which ought not to be repeated in future for self-satisfaction in terms of silly renunciation of inessentials with its wider and deeper implications of falsification of history.

Sugata Bose @Parnika Bubna : Radiant being reminiscent of divinity, our devis. Your erect posture reminds me of Swamiji. Kulakundalini seems awake.

Sugata Bose @Sameer Banik : My slumber has long back broken. So has yours. May we combine forces to awake others! 'Arise! Awake! And stop not till the goal is reached.' Let us sound this clarion call of Swamiji echoing the Upanishadic sages that it may send 'an electric thrill' through the citizenry and 'awake them to life and freedom'. Vande Mātaram!

Sugata Bose @Sameer Banik : Unfortunately, even in that direction we are failing. We aren't having enough progeny to continue the line. Those that are seeing the light of day are by infatuated parents being given the 'Mummy-Papa' culture.

Sugata Bose @Sharmistha Chatterjee : Life is life so long as it is spent in contemplation of the Divine. The peerless Paramahamsa waits for you with eager expectancy at the gates of Dakshineshwar. There at the feet of the blessed Lord in his sanctum sanctorum where the apostles assemble, where the devotees congregate, is your salvation. Meditate on these scenes. The Lord pouring forth sublime utterances and you drinking in the ambrosia unto immortality.

Sugata Bose @YouTube [Filmigaane (Lata Mangeshkar ---Uthhaye ja unke sitam)] : Completely out of tune, missing pertinent shrutis and making a mockery of the underlying raga.

Sugata Bose @Ashoke Sarkar : Why do you say so? Why do you label him (Swami Vivekananda) 'the biggest doublespeak there ever was'? Is it because of the contradictions in his writings on the same issue in different phases of his life, in different circumstances and contexts?

Sugata Bose @Jyotishankar Raychaudhuri : Football on empty stomach will be worse. The footballer will faint.

Sugata Bose @Satyanand Bhattacharjee : Vedānta is the greatest dharma where humanity is transcended and divinity manifested through its practice.

Sugata Bose @Shankar Kumar Chatterjee : Yours always is subtle humour with a sarcastic slant full of inverse intent that eludes the commoner but is in essence doubtlessly patriotic.

Sugata Bose @Satyanand Bhattacharjee : Vidyasagar was a scholar, not an Atmajnāni. So, how would he know?

Sugata Bose @I cannot follow constant guidance regarding what to teach when anymore. This is demeaning for me and I have in my long career as a tutor for over four decades never done so in a single instance. I am not a classwork-tending, examination-tending teacher. I build lives. It must be understood. I have repeatedly said so in the past but seemingly to no effect. My students do very well this way. My life's experience says so. You must have faith in me and let me take charge hereon as I deem best. ICSE is less than three years away and I am under time pressure to build her well enough for life, although she is doing remarkably good work for some time now. She will do better. Do not read me wrong as your understanding is most essential. Bless you!

I understand. I will see to it that she silences this year all her adversarial teachers through her superlative conceptual understanding and commensurate performance gramercy.

No, no. You aren't bothering me at all but are coming clean of thoughts that are bothering you. I will bring her to such a level of excellence that she will be the pride of her school. This is a passing phase, a dark cloud adrift overhead, soon to pass and bear with it to her preceptors like Kalidas' meghdūt merrier tidings. Rest assured this will come to pass and I shall will it to be so. And so it will. Blessings unto you and yours! Be at peace.
