SATYAJIT RAY, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

A heartfelt happy birthday to the one that made our childhood happy. Who can forget Goopy Gyne Bagha Byne, Sonar Kella, Hirak Rajar Deshe, Joy Baba Felunath and that immortal classic, Shatranj Ke Khilari? Truly, Satyajit Ray was, perhaps, the last of the greats of the Bengal Renaissance. Such a one has been. Alas! when will another like him appear? My prostrations to his memory.
So it is, Susanta Mullick. We are now going through a temporary trough which is but the prelude to the crest coming and in its wake shall surface once again the leading lights, the luminaries of future Bengal.
Oh! mothers, they shall be born too to bear the fruits of future dreams. Till then let us sink in our own ploughshare of work to make the soil suitable for the surfacing of these sublime souls who shall usher in that which has been left unspelt as yet in tangible terms of the aspirations of the great ones that had initiated the resurgence of the motherland and wakened her children from their age-old slumber.
