Swami Vivekananda has exhorted us, Indians, to rally round the name of Sri Ramakrishna if we wish to rise as a nation. But it must be understood in this connection that Ramakrishna and Vivekananda represent the two complementary aspects of a single soul-force. Thus, it may be restated that if this nation wants to rise, it will have to rally round the ideals exemplified and the principles taught by the great Swami Vivekananda as well. The spiritual idealism of Ramakrishna and the life-building principles of Vivekananda, if followed, will make us a virile nation that will be ready to take up the challenges of modern times and fulfil its role of spiritual preceptor of the world.
