READ THE GANGA IN THE GOMUKH
We need to read Sri Ramakrishna's and Swami Vivekananda's message direct and not through the lens of feeble preachers coming after them and interpreting them. The Master and his Apostle are direct enough, simple enough for easy understanding and need no intermediaries to interpret their message in the light of their fractional understanding for us to swallow and digest with altered understanding. This is how the messages of great spiritual teachers are lost to humanity as mediocre men of shallow intellect and inferior understanding take upon themselves the superior charge of instructing such to people. Come off this business of learning from such latter-day lights and go back to the original. Read Ramakrishna and Vivekananda as they truly were and not as they are made out to be in the fractured understanding, in the fractional interpretation, in the altered presentation as per the convenience of latter-day preachers and writers. Read the source books. Let none stand between Thakur-Swamiji and you. These original works are well available. Avail of them.

When a person is in deep distress, you do not scold him or ignore him or simply cast him away as so much trash. Humanity demands deeper empathy, acceptance and love that heals and restores health. Each person is divine and needs to be included in the scheme of things, not schemed out of reckoning or simply sold for a few copper coins that are valued more than flesh and blood. Life is a slit unto the vast background reality that is divine. Humanity is but the intermediate state, an opening unto the trinity of existence-consciousness-bliss. Must you fail to appreciate each life that is a beam of the infinite optical spectra rambling through countless pathways in countless universes, up, down and sideways? Do not neglect any. Each one is the Most High coming in myriad shapes through mystifying Māyā. Recognise the Real in the phenomenal, your own in distant deflected beings. The blood of immortality flows in all waiting to be spilled unto union with the Ākāsh Gangā. The stars blaze but appear to twinkle, such is the poetry of life, such the movie screened in the firmament of fertile dreams of fullest fruition in the fullness of time. Therefore, neglect none, be kind to all and loving in varying degrees to all who injure not life's possibilities in people. Read poetry in prose, melody in dry score and love in the lily that fades not with time. Bliss it is to be born, bliss to live and bliss to merge in the Mother who never forsakes. I come, Mother, I come.

LESSONS OF LIGHT
1. Be simple. Do not complicate thoughts. Be straightforward. Do not go about meandering in life. The avenue is broad. The path is straight. Freedom is at hand. It is within you. It is your very being, your very existence, your deepest sense of 'I'. Affirm it. Do not wind about. Hit the mark right away.
2. The dog's curly tail remains curly however one may straighten it. Such is its elasticity. Likewise for society. Its conservatism, inertia, resistance to reformation is so intrinsic to it that almost all attempts to alter status fail till the right time comes when its organic capacity to evolve further has through experience been attained. Then society surges forward to the next phase of its life. Where it fails, it simply dies. Where it adapts and evolves, it lives.
Mass movement is ever complex and full of conflicting forces resolving out motion. Hence, evolution often is better than revolution attempted out of raw impulse. Even revolution is a part of evolution, its climactic rapid change of order in the fullness of time, and revolution has its own dynamic, its laws, conditional constraints, circumstantial requirements and, most importantly, proper preparedness of the people who will revolve, for human behaviour is not deterministic that it can be delineated in terms of infallible laws resonating to time and space. There is a quantum behaviour of the mind akin to subatomic particles which is unpredictable and does not guarantee revolutionary results despite all other conditions being conducive to bringing it about.

4. Seek God as the highest goal of life towards which all of sentience is headed. Everything else is evanescent and will tie you to this painful cycle of birth, life, death and rebirth, seemingly without end. Acquire knowledge temporal and transcendental, and break free from the eight fetters that bind. They are shame, hatred/aversion, fear, honour, lineage, routinised observance, caste/class and the secretive impulse.

48. There is too much crime in this world, little humanity. Values eroded. Men in power perpetrating perfidy against the people. An utter loss of trust, of character in leaders who dupe the flock unto a fool's paradise each time while maintaining the status quo of brutal exploitation and the humiliation of humanity. I see no hope in this desperately sombre scenario save the lightning propagation of Swami Vivekananda by hundreds of thousands of committed preachers, fired by deepest sympathy for suffering humanity, and masculine to the core. No more effeminacy, no more an apologetic stance but bold delivery of the message divine unto every child, every youth and every man that cares to lend his ears. Vivekananda will bring us victory. Vivekananda is the way.

51. We, Hindus, are mushrikeen and proudly proclaim ourselves to be so. We reject all monotheistic absolutism on us, we being ourselves embodiment of the Absolute. We are embodied beings in Māyā and in essence the Brahman. Show us one Abrahamic faith that can philosophically stand anywhere near our profoundest Vedic thinking. Then and then alone we shall listen to their preaching which till then is the puerile prattling of the toddler taking his nursery steps in spiritual life.
52. I eat eggs, fish and meat throughput the year and will do so during the days of the Durgā Pūjā and the Navarātri this year as well. And I am a devout Hindu. Who dares challenge that?
53. Political hero-worship is a bad practice in a Parliamentary democracy. Leaders encourage this to bolster their support-base for electoral gains. But this is very much a feudal practice and stands directly against the very spirit of democracy which calls for decentralisation of power. Assert your individuality and stop flattering your political leaders who play this crafty card on you. These very ones criticise those who do dynastic familial politics, and rightly so, but in raising themselves to some sort of imperial status are culpable somewhat to the same offence, albeit in a variant way. So, read between the lines and see through the mischief of ministers of public service for all their political posturing, for all their pious pretensions of course.
54. If a Christian or a Muslim comes to convert a Hindu to Christianity or Islam, it is the Hindu's right, nay duty, to ask him to convert to Hinduism instead. That will be a fitting tribute to these perfidious proselytisers operating under the cover of our Constitution. And that will be the practice of aggressive Hinduism in defence of the Dharma.
55. Human beings are as diverse as there are individuals and the more this diversity is allowed to flourish, the faster does society evolve towards the ultimate end of spiritual freedom in transcendence of the senses and the realisation of the Absolute. Society is like a meandering river flowing spontaneously---under universal gravity of course---unto freedom in the ocean ahead. The moment it is regimented, its flow flounders and desert sands consume the fragmented channels of water. What follows is everybody's guess.

অন্ধ বিশ্বাসের কবলে পড়বেন না | বিজ্ঞানমনস্ক হোন | উপনিষদ পাঠ করতে না পারেন, পদার্থবিজ্ঞান পাঠ করতে না পারেন তো, রামমোহন, বিদ্যাসাগর, বঙ্কিম, বিবেকানন্দ, রবীন্দ্রনাথ, শরৎচন্দ্র, সুভাষচন্দ্র পড়ুন, আলোকপ্রাপ্ত হবেন | তাও না পারলে সাধারণ বুদ্ধি (common sense) ব্যবহার করুন | এইসব মূর্খ অন্ধত্বের প্রচারকদের থেকে দূরে থাকুন | জ্ঞানীগুণীর রচিত গ্রন্থ পাঠ যদি বা না করেন তো অকাট্য প্রমাণ ছাড়া কারো কথা মানা বন্ধ করুন | সনাতন ধর্ম আলোর ধর্ম | তার প্রতারক প্রচারকদের থেকে দূরে থাকুন | রামকৃষ্ণ মিশনের মত আলোকপ্রাপ্ত সাধুসঙ্ঘের থেকে আধ্যাত্মিক জ্ঞানলাভ করুন | ইউটিউবে অনেকের বক্তৃতামালা পাবেন, যেমন স্বামী চেতনানন্দ, রঙ্গনাথানন্দ, সর্বপ্রিয়ানন্দ, নিখিলেশ্বরানন্দ, অচ্যূতানন্দ, মেধানন্দ, ঈশাত্মানন্দ, পূর্ণাত্মানন্দ আদি অনেকের | এঁদের ভাষণ, বক্তৃতা, পাঠ শুনুন | ওই সব আমিষ-নিরামিষ খাদ্যাখাদ্যের নিদান দেওয়া 'অলৌকিক' বাবাজীদের পাল্লায় পড়বেন না | ওরা রাজনৈতিক দলের এজেন্ট, ভণ্ড বাণিজ্যিক বাবা | মূর্খ মানুষের মাথায় কাঁঠাল ভেঙ্গে মন্ত্রীদের সাহায্যে দেশে ধর্মব্যবসা ফেঁদেছে | উঠুন, জাগুন, সনাতন সংস্কৃতির উপযুক্ত প্রতিভূর কাছ থেকে, বেদ-বেদান্ত-কথামৃত থেকে, পরমহংস রামকৃষ্ণ থেকে জেনে নিন নিজধর্ম, তমসাচ্ছন্ন দুর্বৃত্তদের কাছ থেকে নয় |

Let us open up avenues to seeking Truth. The vast field encompasses myriad routes to the Absolute which is not so absolute in rigid bounds as the ignorant would make It out to be but is in freedom fluid, frozen though in immobile Self-consciousness It is. A peculiar paradox of freedom in freeze, reflexive Self-consciousness, dimensionless boundlessness, an indescribable state with no creed to count as Its proselytising progeny. Unity in unity and diversity in diversity characterise Reality in Its Absolute state and reality in its relativistic states. The twain never can meet. Whither religion, regulated and regulating, expecting flock to follow or slaves to abide by and convert or exile or kill infidels by way of Divine mandate? Truth is not that. It is conceivably and inconceivably grand where the follies and foibles of earthly offspring in religious observance and political pursuit thereof seem like nursery rhymes before the epic-scale composition of genius. Thus must we not force any into submission to Man or to God but must facilitate the free flow of the soul or the mind toward wherever sincere aspiration leads---Truth, truths or the Void. "Let men be thinkers," Swamiji said. So, let avenues of thought be laid open for the grand army of humanity to march through the dark of this cosmic night unto hopefully the sunlit summit of Truth-Goodness-Beauty.

তাঁর দয়ার অন্ত নেই | ভগবান মানুষরূপ ধারণ করে ছদ্মবেশে এই বাংলায় এলেন আর বাঙালী তাঁকে ফেলে অজ্ঞেয়বাদ আর নাস্তিকতাকে গ্রহণ করল এত সংখ্যায় ? মার্ক্সবাদ বুঝল আর বেদান্ত বুঝল না ? তবু তিনি মুখ ফিরিয়ে নেন নি | আজও তাই দক্ষিণেশ্বরের কুঠিবাড়ির ছাদ হতে ধ্বনি ওঠে, "ওরে, তোরা কে কোথায় আছিস, আয়, আমি যে আর থাকতে পারি না !" বৈকুন্ঠে আজও তার প্রতিধ্বনি ওঠে, ওঠে না ওই দিগভ্রান্ত বধির বাঙালীর বুকে | সে লেনিন, মাও, মার্ক্সে মশগুল | আজও তাই বিবেকানন্দ পরিত্যক্ত, বেদান্ত বর্জিত, নাস্তিকতার ঢাল করেছে বাকপটু বাঙালী বিদ্যাসাগরের ন্যায় মহাপুরুষকে বারংবার শিখণ্ডী করে, মাত্র তিনি অজ্ঞেয়বাদী ছিলেন বলে, ঔপনিষদিক রবীন্দ্রনাথকে পদে পদে ব্যবহার করে বাঙালী ইন্দ্রিয়পরায়ণতার সপক্ষে বাণীসন্ধানে কারণ কবি "বৈরাগ্যসাধনে মুক্তি, সে আমার নয়" লিখেছেন 'আত্মপরিচয়' গ্রন্থে | মুখে মার্ক্স, বাণী বিপ্লব, কন্ঠে কামনা, ব্যবহারে বাসনা, ইন্দ্রিয় অসংযত, চিত্তে চঞ্চলতা, হতাদর্শ, বাকসর্বস্য বৃহদ্বাঙালী আজ কাপুরুষতার কলেবরপ্রাপ্ত কলরবকাতর জনগোষ্ঠী | তারা যুগাবতারকে কি করে চিনবে ? তাদের দৌড় ওই ভিনদেশীয় আদর্শের অনুকরণ পর্যন্ত, ওই মুখেন মারিতং জগত, ওই বিপ্লববুলি, ঋত্বিক, মৃণাল, সত্যজিৎ, বিদ্যাসাগর, রবীন্দ্রনাথ ও অধুনা রামের বিরোধীতায় রামমোহনের বাণিজ্যব্যবহার, বিজেপি তথা রাষ্ট্রীয় স্বয়ংসেবক সঙ্ঘকে পরাভূত করার অভিপ্রায়ে সীতার অগ্নিপরিক্ষাকে রামের চূড়ান্ত বিফলতা প্রমাণের দুষ্টপ্রচেষ্টায় রামমোহনের সতীদাহপ্রথা নিবারণে ভূমিকার প্রায়শঃ উল্লেখ---এই হল বৃহদ্বাঙালীর ব্যবহারিক বিকৃতির বিশদ বিবরণ | এই আদর্শভ্রষ্ট দুষ্ট বুদ্ধিজীবির দল চিনবে সনাতন পুরুষ শ্রীভগবানকে ? এরা লিঙ্গ-গুহ্য-নাভির ত্রিকেন্দ্রে আবদ্ধ, সনাতন শাস্ত্র মানে মাত্র গোমাংস ভোক্ষণের সপক্ষে যুক্তি আনয়নে, ইসলামের মার খায় সেকিউলারিজ়মের দোহাই দিয়ে, প্রতিক্রিয়াশীলতাকে প্রগতিশীলতার মোহর দিয়ে আত্মপ্রসাদ বোধ করে, স্বাদেশিকতা ছেড়ে প্রাদেশিকতাকে প্রাধাণ্য দেয়---এরা বুঝবে অনন্তের অধিপতি রামকৃষ্ণ-বিবেকানন্দকে ?

He died at 9.10 p.m. on 4 July, 1902 and was cremated at the Belur Math precincts the very next day, 5 July, 1902 at 1.00 p.m. So, Mahārāj (Jagadguru Mahāmandaleshvar Swāmi Paramātmānanda) is providing wrong information in stating that Swamiji could not be cremated for two days after his death owing to lack of personnel who could discharge the cremation duty, meaning thereby that none were ready to cremate a kayastha sannyasi as monasticism was deemed exclusive to brāhmans.

No more cowardice but courage that destroys evil. Read the revolutionary in Krishna who through war uproots the source of evil to save Bhāratvarsha from a civilisational collapse. Read in Rām the advancing warrior who crushes evil and restores good even at the cost of supreme personal loss. Stop singing and dancing like effeminate beings when a civilisational war is at hand. WHAT DISTINGUISHES SWAMIJI FROM THOSE THAT HAVE FOLLOWED HIM
Swamiji was convinced about what he was saying as it was based upon spiritual realisation, deep intellectual reflection, vast erudition and an overwhelming sense of purpose born out of an abiding love for humanity that knew no bounds nor limited itself within geographical boundaries or cultural contours. Finally, he had received divine commission from his spiritual master to preach the word of God at home and abroad. Sri Ramakrishna had in his dying days at the Cossipore Garden House written on a scrap of paper, "নরেন লোকশিক্ষা দিবে যখন ঘরে বাইরে হাঁক দিবে |" ["Naren will teach the world when he will thunder at home and abroad."] Thus Vivekananda 'spoke with authority and not as the scribes do', and was victorious everywhere. His words were scripture and spiritually transformed his audience. If modern preachers are not so, it is because they possess none of the qualities which adorned the Swami.
Realisation, reflection, reading, resistance to material temptation, universal sympathy, courage of conviction, freedom of the soul, uncompromising nature that does not stoop to seek worldly support, strength of character that is self-sustaining, abundance of talent, idealism, a vast mind, oratorical power as if 'by divine right'---all these and much more distinguished the Swami not only from his peers in the world then but also from fellow preachers after him. Most are compromised in life with material gain and are apologetic about what they say about the Dharma in relation to its suffering at the hands of alien invasive powers and their aggressive Abrahamic faiths. No wonder they fail to impress for long a discerning audience. And thus the Vedantic missionary work suffers. We need valorous souls with fiery force to come to the fore and preach the Dharma the masculine way across the length and breadth of the world. 🕉 Hindu!

আজ ঘরে ঘরে এই একই দুরবস্থা | সিরিয়াল বোঝে, টাকা কড়ি খুব ভাল বোঝে কিন্তু সূক্ষ্ম কোনো কিছুই বোঝে না, বোঝার আগ্রহ নেই, অনীহা অথবা অরুচি | এক প্রজন্মের মধ্যে সংস্কৃতির যে অধঃপতন লক্ষ্য করলাম তা দুঃসহ | কার জন্য লেখা ? কেবা পড়ে ? কেবা বোঝে ? কাকে সম্বোধন করে রসপরিবেশনা ? রসবোধ কই ? ঈশ্বর রসস্বরূপ কিন্তু তাঁর ভক্তেরা প্রায়ই রসবোধবিবর্জিত, অর্থলোলুপ, স্থূলপ্রকৃতি | ঘরে ঘরে সংস্কৃতির খরা | সবই মোটা দানায় চলছে, মসলিন শিল্পীর বুড়ো আঙুল কেটে দেওয়া হয়েছে | হা ভগবান !

Mythology must not replace science. There is no proof that there is a God who has created the universe, governs it and eventually destroys it. These things happen as per natural law and not as per the will of any God. Spiritual consciousness is quite apart from such puerile conceptions of the Divine which in its absolute transcendental state is the non-dual Brahman/Atman. That entity you may call God or whatever you like. The Vedas call It 'Tat', pronounced 'Tut'. But to imprint on the minds of the masses mythological tales of creation conducted by God or gods, as preachers regularly do, breeds superstition in them and retards their intellectual growth which is unwholesome and unwelcome at that if India wishes to be a developed state by 2047. A superstitious polity cannot survive the challenges of a fast modernising world nor may be deemed developed. The workings of Nature, as understood by the sensory human mind, must be taught the scientific way and not in manner mythological. Beyond that philosophical speculations are welcome but not puerile storytelling by way of teaching science.

Read and be better informed before ignorantly attacking Hindutva. For good measure read J. Sai Deepak's two books on the Hindu-Muslim question. As for fringe communists, given your indoctrinated anti-dhārmic materialistic stance, reading these may perchance clarify conception and bring you back to the Sanātan fold as you shed what has been thrust upon you by your crafty thought-leaders. But for hard-core communists with depth-invasion of communist thought, even reading these may not help as the shut mind may not allow entry of new thought that will dispel delusion and displace what you hold to heart as 'dogma dear'. But for Hindus, ill-informed and easily influenced by leftist propaganda shaming Hindutva, it is a must, for it will be an eye-opener. Hinduism must become aggressively missionary. Otherwise Hindus will decrease percentage-wise. No wonder Swamiji wanted this but was denied fulfilment by altered activity of his followers, of course by following other welfare lines laid down by him, for his was a universal being and he understood the limitations of lesser endowed men as also the compulsions of organisational existence in complex political scenario. But the fiery spirit that characterised Swamiji and was his life's work to try and infuse in his countrymen, more so in his followers, has been sadly diminishing over the decades till it has now been reduced to cipher, nay, even plummeting to the negative sometimes as compromise and commerce which characterise our capitalist society these days infilitrate the rank and file of his followers.
Hindus keep getting victimised physically and through conversion to Christianity and Islam while Vivekananda's titular followers keep mutely watching. There is no organised effort to scale up missionary activity to propagate Hinduism across the world but there is every attempt to promote pseudoharmony of faiths which are simply irreconcilable on foundational grounds. The inability to call a spade a spade has mummified the mission of the Master. Therefore, we as individuals and as groups need to activate our own mental, intellectual and spiritual resources to discover in Vivekananda the message of self-mastery and missionary activity to serve our civilisation better. No need to wait on those who have compromised. Let us awake to our own responsibilities and fight on. So, onward!

In an interview which a representative of Prabuddha Bharata had recently with the Swami Vivekananda, that great Teacher was asked: "What do you consider the distinguishing feature of your movement, Swamiji?"
"Aggression," said the Swami promptly, "aggression in a religious sense only. Other sects and parties have carried spirituality all over India, but since the days of Buddha we have been the first to break bounds and try to flood the world with missionary zeal."

Ministers these days pay lip-service to our great men and women on their birth and death anniversaries which is fair enough save for the fact that it is lip-service after all and not deeply felt reverence that seeks utterance thus. Levity continues in the Bengali political and cultural scene as Bengal turns on a new apparel to stage the show this time. It seems Swamiji was right when he had warned his fellow men to shift stance from sensate living to Sanskritised soulful living that exhibited manhood which the then dominant effeminacy of the race---now increased manifold and rendered toxic in proportion by Marxist materialistic infiltration of thought---had largely extinguished and tended to make Bengal, the place of left-handed degenerate Tantric worship, a land doomed to civilisational annihilation over the next three generations. Swamiji was largely proven right as post-Independence Bengal saw an Indic cultural collapse, the deliberate political replacement of its Sanātan heritage with Marxist everything that degenerated and destroyed Bengal's hopes. After 34 years of Marxist misrule and 15 more years of Trinamool mayhem and loot, the BJP has set itself to settling things in unsettled Bengal. But the way things are going with Ministers, led by the chief in office, off-limits in decibel doing and pouring puerile posts to please the polity, paying homage to past greats through standardised one-lined obituary on their birth and death days, and talking too much, so to say, on prospective projects, that too as if it is a shouting match, it seems unlikely that Bengal is as much on the rise as projected, nay, artlessly advertised by whosoever chances upon the media microphone. Bengal is indeed going through a cultural transition from atheistic-materialistic-leftist ideology which has paralysed her being and made her the opponents of nationalism to highly theistic-spiritualistic-rightist ideology that embraces nationalism and shuns not industry but welcomes them on paper. How much of it translates to reality, though, are the long reels to be seen after the bombastic trailers are over.

Lightning flashes
Light up the sky
But for a moment.
Then off they fly.
Life's like that.
Today here,
Tomorrow no more.
Don't ask me why.
The earth dries up,
Cracks and breaks
As rain quits post
To seek mate nigh.
So, parched soul
