TIME FOR ANOTHER VIVEKANANDA 

Time for another Vivekananda to preach Vivekananda. Preaching Vedanta to an ignorant, often highly materialistic audience, that too in a repetitive textual manner, is futile. Narrate instead the events of Swamiji's epic life in an arresting style. That will conduce to the spiritual welfare of the people. Who among these preachers is interested in preaching Swamiji after all? They are busy delivering stereotypical Vedantic doles tantamount to nothing substantial for an audience that is bound in the delusion of worldly desires with earthly cravings hardly met. In war zones where people are dying let these preachers preach the immortality of the soul. Where Hindus are dying at the hands of Islamists, as in Bangladesh and Pakistan and in select districts and provinces of Hindu minority population in India, let these preachers propagate the Vedanta. What is the use of oiling well-oiled heads? Let dry heads be oiled. And let commerce not dictate the demands of Vedanta-preaching. Let lectures be free and not charged as is the wont these days. This is a sad departure from true traditional spiritual practice despite the so-called pecuniary pressures of modern organisational existence. Now ruminate. 🕉
